- It’s finally time to install our cubic mini wood stove in the superadobe dome home. This adorable fireplace is offset into its own mini hyperadobe dome with a penny tile floor, and making sure it’s installed correctly is the last step to drying in the building.

Please look up the upside down fire lighting method. I live on a boat and have a small wood burner, it starts much much quicker and more efficiently if you put in big logs first then smaller sticks then on top of that kindling, light at the top centre. May well be counterintuitive but it works.

Sooo, If we want to build a small/tiny dome for a fireplace maybe build it first if possible with maybe a form, let it set up, then plaster the inside before adding on the actual wall/room to it, unless we are tiny also!!! Love, Love Love this tiny stove and all the peoples who are building it and seeing it and those who will never see it!!!

Guys, please ensure you have a physical one inch air gap anywhere in the dome so the wood heater doesn't suck up the room air for burning and cause asphyxiation to the occupants.

Little stove is cool. You might consider have the exit pipe taller than your building so the building doesn’t get discolored from the smoke.

I loved watching the Mini Woodstock install. Ashley the wonderful thing about you is, you experiment with different techniques and here also with the grout colour. What a discovery a paint brush will be for all your future projects when there is a need for smooth finishes! Love it. The Woodstove is such a great idea for the room and I adore the penny flooring. For all those who wonder if the stovepipe is tall enough. Those rules apply to a rectangular structure not a dome. Domes do not disrupt the wind like boxes do. Ashley, a flue carries combustion gases to the outside. And a chimney is a masonry structure containing a flue. Also since your stove has primary and secondary air inlets it is considered high efficiency. Having the fresh air intake across the room from the stove might cause a cold draft. Leading to the "campfire rotisserie effect" for someone inside. I recommend a 2in vent next to the stove if this becomes a problem.
yes, when we had the window cracked it was not good. we've done a lot of research on this so we're pretty confident with what we've done. our fire chief neighbor agrees :)

I love wood stoves.
Not all wood burns the same or puts out the same amount of heat or smells nice.
Mesquite, cherry, apple , cypress and pine smell great.
Cottonwood is horrible in smell and heat.
The ash is great for the garden.

I missed them. so now i'm going to work backwards and catch up. it's cold here. minus11 degrees Celcius. it's not weather for the timide or faint of heart. i'm a SoCal guy and i dying. I’ve had the mini wood stove for 5 years. I love it, and it keeps me and the critters alive in crazy weather. Wood can be tricky to fit in there though. It takes more cutting. This year I’m using scrap lumber cuts from a building project.
Tip for cleaning the inside of the glass of the fire.. Vinegar on some scrunched up newspaper.. Works wonders.. Clean the glass regularly or it will become impossible.. Enjoy your channel.. Greetings from Scotland
Best thing is to damp a paper towel and dip in the ash. Wipes right off the door.

Becareful not to over fill the stove with wood too fast it could over heat and might break the glass. It looks great in the space nice job well done.😊

The little fire going in was worth all the last minute prep work.Its going to be amazing in there ,it gives the place a nice warm feeling ,even when it’s not working.I always think a fire makes a home,home,especially in the winter.I am in a flat and sadly only have a fake electric one.I put it on when it’s very cold and it makes you feel warmer!even though I don’t use the hear lol!.Great job,It will soon be finished and Adelaide can then have her own space ..Love and hugs to you all 🥰
That stove is too cute!
You should try fuel up the stove with all the kindling and first log(s) so that you can close the door immediately after lighting - you should only need to feed the air via the vents. It takes a bit of practice to get this right but it means far less smoke and dangerous particulate matter comes into the toom. You really dont want to be breathing in the fumes from paper and natural kindling (sticks etc).
Absolutely , and bleached paper is notorious for releasing dioxins as it is burned so it was horrifying to watch !

A lot of projects done on the one! Adeline (?) needs to appear in more videos. It’s been nice to see her in more lately. I thought I heard some saying that the done was 12’ a couple of videos ago, then this video I heard 9’. Which is accurate. Looks more like 9’ than 12’ but videos can be deceiving. It's super easy and after it starts, you can walk away from it for an hour or two and not tend it so much.
