Hey, I really like watching your videos but have noticed the video looks choppy and somewhat pixelated even at higher resolutions. Since 95% of your videos are in motion I would recommend increasing the frames per second to 60fps or 120fps in your camera settings.
Rocket mode - well if you ask me - is extreme likely working via feeding the motor on the bike without current limit until it starts to overheat. Which is the legal way to improve performance, and remain classified in the same livense tier as 50cc scooters (well in the EU), as regulation checks sustained max power, not how high you can spike power output temporarily.
Why does every test bike have the footpegs mounted on the wrong side? Or is that just an optical illusion? They sure look like they are set up to fold forward at an angle instead of backwards at an angle. Nice bike and a nice review.
So this is a competitor for the Czech made Drill EVO One? The Drill EVO One is 50 pounds lighter and has a continuous power of 11 (or 15 kW), has a better (stiffer) frame and swing arm but is $3000 more expensive.
How come every light e-moto is not properly setup? If they all require mods, seems like somebody would realize this and make one with a better front end, removal of the brake sensors, etc.
Are they 7/8 bars? Can you upgrade things like the stem or bar height? Can you even upgrade those terrible looking grips? What’s the drive line like? Are chains sprockets etc easily upgraded with off the shelf items? Break upgrades or anything? Any one know?
Get a different controller 😀 Boost is a gimmick. Manufacturers should give you max power when you give it full throttle. Then have the controller cut you off when the motor, controller, or battery are beyond a safe thermal limit.
I like the idea of a quiet running bike...lol, that's appealing in many circumstances but all of the Computer garbage is not any fun b/c when you're doing that you ain't riding. Brake sensors that can shut the bike down is a problem & the idea of having to reboot a Bike like your laptop, it has no place in an adventurers life? Turn the key, then the throttle = GO Go go...simple is like quiet in how cool it is but everything is moving into difficult? Thanks for the video
I saw this bike in the dealer not too long ago and it really feels like a Segway x260 feels like a really small frame and they told me $5800 out the door.heck no
Guys, is there any western made electric motorbike? Those are all just rebranded chinese bikes. Not saying they are not good, but I just would like to know to compare them.
We hear you! Much of the market is currently dominated by Chinese made bikes. There are several made in Europe (Stark, Electric Motion, KTM, Cake) One bike on it's way that we're very excited about is the Dust Moto - Made in the USA. Also, one of the manufacturers that has been in the game the longest, Zero Motorcycles, is a USA brand.
@@ElectricCycleRider thank you, looking forward to it!! Would love something in this Beta Explorer or Ultra Bee category, that looks like an enduro but can be used on the streets and is western made.
When are they going to get rid of the chain and sprocket and have the motor in the rear wheel? Is it a matter of too much unsprung weight locating the motor in the rear wheel or is it that the motor can't handle the abuse?
shock is bad for the motor as its not dampened enough in the rear or front wheel. Middle motor also gives you more punch. Very likely you also have more options of cooling it in the centre than in the wheel. That´s just what I picked up on that thought so far.
Correct in your 2 assumptions. Abuse and weight but a couple more things too. Hub motors are OK for on road applications. Mid Drive is the only way to go for off road. Making the rear wheel assembly heavy is bad news from a design standpoint. Really bad. Motor longevity, plus the unsprung weight is detrimental to suspension characteristics. Ugly rear suspension behavior, and poor balancing as well, rear weighted instead of a bike that's center weighted to handle better. Hub motors have two distinct advantages. They can be very high powered, and they are cheaper than designing a mid drive. But no one wants and off road hub drive bike or motorcycle. Bleh.
Generally, heavy motor mounted in rear axle make too much unsprung weight, its not a easy task for a cheap rear shock like KKE or other brand, even for kyb,its better to make a light unsprung weight rear end desgin.More sunsprung weight means more bounced energy to punch your hand or butt.
Rocket mode. WHY 10 seconds? Well that's easy. Motor heat. MOTOR HEAT.. Short high power bursts, no damaging heat buildup But continuously running at 12kW would eventually melt motor windings or damage the permanent magnet s in it. The motor is not made for continuous high kW power operation. Sur Ron X has the same issue. When guys put aftermarket batteries and motor controllers on their stock motors, those motors get smoked.
Well it is entry level. If you want "real" dirt bike power you'll spend over $12000 for that power level. If you think $5000 is a lot of money there are hundreds of toy electric bikes out there that cost less.

Thanks for your work making these reviews and putting your thoughts out there. I wasn’t even aware of this collaboration between beta and Apollo.
So it’s an RFN with different plastics?
Thanks again Tucker! Even though it's another blah machine we always appreciate hearing from you
i'd really like for you to try the talaria XXX. Otherwise good video.
Agree
Very good looking bike!

Nice bike and a nice review.
Worth every penny!
I will buy the Ultra Bee this year..its a better choice.
By far!
I Have the ultra bee you won’t regret it
@@tommym3876 i think so..never heard of big problems with it and it has good tuning potential as well..if you really need this.
E-ride pro is way better
Edit : I thought you were talking about the light bee
@@elias8981 nah I wanted one but the range is nowhere near ultra bee
Nice looking bike
You can tell it's like an Apollo
it would be interesting to put on all the parts from the surron vs talaria video and see ho the bike performs then

surron ultra bee is almost good for my standard

So...what do you have to do to make the boost last longer 😀
Get a different controller 😀 Boost is a gimmick. Manufacturers should give you max power when you give it full throttle. Then have the controller cut you off when the motor, controller, or battery are beyond a safe thermal limit.
Send your controller to Motoclops for $200 dollars
Running continuous 12kW would cook that motor. The permanent magnets would get damaged. Heat is the reason they only permit 10 seconds bursts of 12kW.
They now all come with 60 sec boost
What’s the power like? Like riding a 4 stroke 125?
I like the idea of a quiet running bike...lol, that's appealing in many circumstances but all of the Computer garbage is not any fun

Can't wait for these and talaria to drop under $2.5k
Unless used or with a crappy range, it will probably not happen

80% of the products on your website is sold out. What's the deal?
An electric dirt bike is fine if you never leave your acreage but if you want to ride into the mountains and expect to ride back I suggest a gas bike.
Bike seems like a disappointment. I can’t wait for Yamaha or Honda to step into the midsize E-Moto ring.
Arctic leopards are much better value for money more power 21/18 so will take upto a 140 enduro tyre, phone connectivity and full size brakes, pads.
This thing is not entry level at over 5k

Lmao 5k
Should cost no more than a klx or crf110
5kv for 5k is pretty bad
wacky brake levers😂
Play trials bike
Too small
I get a Stark Varg instead 130mph😂
