Piccolo's newest transformation in Dragon Ball Super Super Hero has taken the community by storm, but what exactly is it? What does Orange Piccolo represent? In today's video, I'm going to fully explain what we know about this new form and we're going to discuss what it truly means for Piccolo's character arc!

So instead of orange piccolo, why not call him Dragon Piccolo? Since Shenron unlocked his potential for the transformation

@@InnovativeJdawg somewhere else someone made a good observation that, the Namekians seem to be a low tier race in the pantheon of gods, and kai's and such.
Considering that Namekians seem to be the only race to be able to create dragon balls, which can do God like things,
I'm proposing that Shenron brought that 'dragon ball making' energy to the surface for Piccolo in a physical form.... Hence the orange color.
I prefer dragon picollo over orange

Piccolo was definitely the main character of the movie. I'm so glad he shined in it and it showed that he should never be shafted again. Also, Orange Piccolo looks hardcore and I loved his relationship with Pan.

@lucas I'm aware of his development throughout the manga, having grown up with the franchise. I wouldn't want new transformations every time either and even had Piccolo not obtained new forms in the movie, I still would've been happy that he shined regardless. Android 17 and 18 didn't get new forms in the T.O.P. but they delivered big time in it, especially the former. It's also not like I want Krillin to get a transformation, either. Finally, with the forms Goku and Vegeta have now, they should not obtain more transformations.
That's actually a good catch about the dragon balls being orange and a fact that Toriyama even missed in choosing this new power-up color since it's stated that he just wanted something over the top.
I'd like to think the coloring was intentional, but it most likely wasn't with how Toriyama typically operates lol

Dude. At 40, I’ve been watching DB since I was I kid. Everything you laid down is solid and makes so much sense. As a die hard fan I’m so glad they finally have piccolo his due.
I’m so glad my boi got not one, but TWO NEW FORMS. I’m also love the theory of Dragon God Zalama being connected to Namekians, or even BEING Namekian himself.
Maybe Piccolo receiving the respect of a Dragon is his first step on his “Path of the Dragons”. Piccolo could be the Namekian Zalama is waiting for. Maybe his grand destiny is to become the next Dragon God, and this Orange form is a stepping stone in achieving that evolution.
I've always loved the idea of Piccolo getting his own story arc tying to the Super Dragon Balls and Zalama, so I'm hoping that "Path of the Dragons" thing comes true!
So Iv always theorized that Zeno being a destroyer of universes there must be a higher Kai that creates universes and maybe the super dragon balls. If this is so it would be amazing if it's a ancient namekian who created everything.

Personally, i like the thought that this is a form that only the dragon of the dragon balls itself can grant, not something that can be unlocked just by training endlessly like Goku and Vegeta.

You might be on to something because in the beginning of the namek arc Mauri explains that gathering the dragon balls on namek is a trial namekian warriors undertake to test themselves.
Team for star had it right when they got sense to make new dragon balls saying he was from the warrior clan so like the mystics who can heal and creat dragon balls but cannot use the power of the eternal dragon themselves but the warriors may be able to use the power of the dragons in a way for itself
it sound like a godly transformation sort of like when goku asked the dragon of the SS God
@@syler100 My thoughts exactilly. If i remember correctly, the original creator of the super dragon balls was a namekian and this may have been the dragons way of sending him down the same path as that same legendary namekian.
Great explanation of Orange Piccolo and how the form is a representation of Piccolo's character arc. It is about time that Piccolo has a proper transformation, and what better time than in the dragonball super superhero movie, which is the movie that arguably had Piccolo be the main character.

I wish I was Toriyama. I would've given Piccolo his own arc. He would be on his way to learning about Zalama and becoming equal to the Dragon God of the Namekian Dragon Balls.
The villain would be another evil Namekian who wants the Super Dragon balls for himself, kinda like Lord Slug. Orange Piccolo would be teaming up with Pilina, Soanel, and other Namekian warriors to fight against the evil Namekian. Hell, I would even have Piccolo getting a companion in the arc (maybe another female species that admires him or has a crush on him or something)

In fact, Piccolo was supposed to be the sole protagonist of Super Hero but Toriyama was convinced to have Gohan be a co-lead. Still, Piccolo was THE protagonist of the film with Gohan as the deuteragonist.

I already liked Orange Piccolo, but this explanation makes me appreciate the form even more. I love the fact that they used Namekian culture and their connection with the Dragon Balls to give new power to Piccolo.
The fact that no one in the comments talks about the correction that this transformation makes to the original manga shows that the majority of dbs fans have never read the original manga and have only discovered DB with the abridged version

Also, if Vegeta really really is gonna take meditating as apart of his training, he'd be a fool not to learn a bit from Piccolo. Would be a good chance to showcase how Piccolo's meditation is let to his techniques and ki control

No. Vegeta literally said that he can split Piccolo back into himself,Nail and Kami. So Piccolo would be screwed if he fought Vegeta.
Piccolo is already a huge powerhouse with this form, imagine if he absorbed the two nameks from the tournament of power? He'd be unstoppable
With Gohan and Picolo back in the game, now I wish the real super human like Tien and Kililin attain new heights at some point too, I would love to include Yamcha but the man choose to dropped the warrior path so I'll respect that and see if he will change his mind.
For me, Tien is one most prominent figure even as his time as villian and he deserve that honor again, he use to be so broken as enemy who can completely analyzed any martial arts techniques known to man just by seeing them for the first time, even copy and executed them in perfect form. Would be cool if he can do so again in grander scale that not involved specific condition or power component.
The problem with new levels for humans like krillen is the fact that they are humans, there is no OP lore tied to humans attaining power anywhere close to these other races..it's just not in the cards, the best humans can do is potential unlocked which the strongest human fighters like krillen have undergone and bc they are human they won't achieve gains like saiyans or the other races..that's just the sad truth.

It really depends on how Toriyama want them to be, after promising Gohan's potential as human-saiyan hybrid, it could always be a kind of hidden potential for human race that even Guru can't unleash.
If Toriyama decides to give humans more spotlight, it would also be another exciting development, since it also means Goku will have more sparing partners to train with than just Vegeta and open more windows for antagonists that focus on smaller scope for Z-Fighter to deal with while Goku and Vegeta are busy elsewhere.

I do hope the Earthling Warriors get a boost as well, perhaps using the biggest missed opportunities to fix power levels with God Ki and Kaioken. These were never exclusive to the Saiyans and would level the playing field.
Weird thing is God ki just seems like something that unlocks when you have mastery of ki, even Tien doesn't seem to bother training to master ki

I like orange Piccolos conection to the dragonballs showing off in the orange color and even the red stars within the dragon balls by having Piccolos "marks" (or whatever they are) also being red. I could imagine ... and hope to see it .. if Piccolo grows his potential even further and develops "super namekian 2" form it turns out to be a even more dragon clan based form and giving Piccolo some Shen Long / Polunga like body features - like turning into the legendary dragon of Namekians lore. I could even imagine a whole "Piccolo Spin off Story" (maybe as seperated new manga/anime series or within the Dragon Ball Story ) Lots of potential !

Piccolo and Kami were originally one being split in two and now whole again. The dragon awakening his potential would have got “both” of them here because they were never really two people to begin with
as they are one being their combined potential has unlocked by Shenron. That's why Piccolo suprised of his new power up was even greater than what he expected to be.

You can tell that Orange Piccolo was inspired by Escanor's form, "The One" from Seven Deadly Sins.

• both have a flare-like aura
• both are orange when activated
• and both of them become burly when they activate it.

I love this because piccolo stayed vigilant of threats and trained throughout the whole series but also he was a namek born on earth. He had no idea what it was like to be from his home planet or hasn’t ever seen a namekian until the frieza saga. Once he arrived on namek he changed and has become more in touch wiith his roots as a namekian. He’s the best character finally he’s caught up💯🔥 🐉

The latent potential pushed for Namekians is multiplied by the amount of fused individuals as well. Piccolo is a combination of 3.
He unlocked not just his full potential, but the combination of them. Also he got the same perks as Bojack. Also Piccolo was able to transform into a larger being since Dragonball.(check the martial arts tournament vs Goku)
It's not a "reward" but an expected unlock he deserved.
Gohan and Piccolo are only off by 1 major item.
Gohan has the power unlocked by a Kai.(Majin Buu saga & the form Gohan used until he stopped training and went skinny in the Frieza movie. At that point Gohan focused on super Saiyan to take out the small guys because he was weaker. He became more built and tone in super in reflection. Keep in mind the only reason he got the Kai power up is because he didn't want to focus on his Saiyan anger, but to keep a strong focus on the situation. )
So Piccolo could eventually get the same unlock later. He may be more powerful than you know.
Nice catch! The massive power boost makes a lot more sense when you factor in the multiple individuals that are fused within him.
The only complaint I have about the situation is that Dende was just like "Oh yeah sure let me just upgrade the dragon with this water I had laying around" instead of it being something he had been working on and finally had a reason to use. A couple of different lines could have made that feel much less hand-wavy
I agree actually. I didn't mind it that it was on-the-spot, Dragon Ball usually does that sort of stuff, but it would've been more interesting if Dende had planned on upgrading the dragon balls for some time and this was the perfect opportunity to actually do it.

Remember, kami originally had the power to stop freiza. So piccolo had great potential deep down. Great to see it arrive. Hopefully to xenoverse 2 or 3 as well
I wish Tory didn’t put so much focus on Goku and Vegeta during Z. The rest of the Z Fighters should’ve gotten PU, and Piccolo should’ve been taught Kaioken (Namekians can heal which would counteract the effects of Kaioken). He could also have latent god ki after fusing with Kami that he didn’t know how to access until encountering Whis. I would even make changes to the Saiyans too.

The earthlings should be trained and have their potential unlocked by the Kaioshins. The earthlings and the Kaioshins were turned into background characters in Super so it would be a good chance to give them something. It would be cool to have a new Z-sword, Yamcha used to be a sword fighter so it would be nice to see him train with that. A movie based only around humans would be nice. Maybe we see the Crane School's return who knows.
Problem with the Z sword is that it was just a regular sword with the old kaioshin sealed in it which made it so heavy and difficult to control. The sword itself was a pretty standart sword shown by the fact that it easily broke when Goku and Gohan wanted to try out its sharpness. So for a new z sword to appear they’d have to seal a kaioshin into a sword
@@beatsbyadmiralz5915 They could juse the Dragonballs or something who knows. The sword wasn't just a sword. Both Gohan and Goku struggled a lot to use it and Gohan did become much stronger just by training with it. Dragonball used to have many swordsmen once (Yamcha,Murasaki,Tao Pai Pai,Yajirobe,Trunks,Dabura) so it would be a cool adition instead of having the same standard training.

Orange piccollo is none other than the real " super namekian"...this has opened new possibilities of story telling. Akira toriyama maybe planning to take a different path than manga. May he be planning to explore "super dragon Ball" and " multiverse"...
The "added bonus" was what Kami (and therefore "Piccolo") put into creating the Dragon Balls.
After realizing the smaller details and what this form represents, I've come to appreciate it a lot more, cool video

Your bit about Piccolo's character arc coming full circle, great observation when you consider this started with King Piccolo wishing for eternal youth.
The first scene I saw was Piccolo sacrifice himself for Gohan. He's my favorite character, and this needed to happen.
Piccolo has been disciplined, humble, strong, smart, patience and a pillar for his group for awhile. He deserved what goku and vegeta train for. They keep learning to be all the things listed above. Piccolo has always been those things. He should be a S class character

I want to know why his arms are a different shade of orange compared to the rest of his body. It is even stranger as his hands are the same color as his body, but the arms alone are clearly darker.

Instead of color forms like usual, they should've called it God Piccolo or Demon Piccolo as Piccolo have been Kami AND Demon King Piccolo in his life.

Ajisa (アジッサ, Ajissa), called Hydrangea Plants These crops were destroyed by a giant storm that ravaged the planet in Age 261. Dende describes this scenario to Krillin and Gohan during dinner when Krillin wonders why Namekians cultivate this plant since they do not need food and only drink water. Initially, Krillin thought that the crops were supposed to be consumed by the Namekians, but Dende reveals that the crops are cultivated only to enhance the beauty of their planet.
All that's left is the 3 humans to get Shenron to give them their retroactive Zenkais.

I see it more as, with potential unlocked, he was able to access a form literally blocked to him until he had said potential unlocked. Essentially, if he had his potential unlocked earlier, hed likely be at this similar state of power now. If anything hed be a lil stronger because he would have had time to practice and master these forms.

Should’ve given him more of a focus on Magic instead of Ki so it wouldn’t be just another transformation and no other Z fighter uses magic. It would make so much sense. Give him healing abilities like Dende, creation abilities as Kami, and namekian fighting abilities

I like how the writers did that cause he n Gohan been slept on for so long
one thing that helps his transformation being so powerful is when Kami was mentioned to guru, he stated he would be stronger than freeza. Freeza got his gold form from 4 months of training so I think a wish from the dragon balls plus nonstop training he easily keeps up as a top character

I've been saying since Battle of the Gods that Piccolo needed to get a "Namekian God" form. I suppose this is as close to that as we may get. But it makes sense, the current Piccolo is literally the reunification of a demon and a god, if anyone should have access to God Ki, it's Piccolo. I don't know if Orange Piccolo is a god or not, but if he isn't then I won't be fully satisfied until he is. The other reason that there needs to be a Namekian God is that the Super Dragon Balls had to come from somewhere, and all other balls that we know of are tied to the Namekians, so this would imply that there is a Namekian of sorts that is on par if not stronger than Omni King Zeno. I'm not saying that Piccolo is THAT Namekian, but I am saying that it seems to me that such a Namekian almost has to exist, and that would lend some credibility to the idea of "Divine Namekians" or at least divine forms for Namekians.

Ultimate Piccolo-His potential unleashed form that was unlocked by Shenron after needing power to defend his homeplanet of Planet Namek against the terrifying power of Moro.
Dragon Piccolo-Is the full potential of Piccolo after absorbing the power of his fellow Namekians to finally defeat Moro using the same technique that Moro uses to absorb energy.
I really feel as though it would’ve been perfect to write Piccolo’s character upgrade in an actual arc in the DBS story featured in the manga with Piccolo needing the power to save his race from the terrifyingly demonic powers of Moro.
By far the best new transformation Dragon Ball made after the super saiyan 4. But it would have been nice to see it after Piccollo had fused with other namekians, since that was a good excuse to give him a massive boost of power.
Ultimate Piccolo is scales to Goku ssj Blue level and Orange Piccolo is around on Par with UI Goku.
Plus Orange Piccolo form represents his Namekian Culture.

The fact that no one in the comments talks about the correction that this transformation makes to the original manga shows that the majority of dbs fans have never read the original manga and have only discovered DB with the abridged version
