    I wish I had found your video 5 months ago. I've had a terrible time sleeping since my stroke and SAH in June. I was having a lot of trouble with my CPAP machine and mask and last week I took a good look at all the parts and went out and bought all new parts. Huge improvement. Everything fits better and stays in place. Now I'm sleeping 6 to 7 hours a night.

    Thank you for your great tips. I surround myself with pillows for comfort. I have right side hemiplegia from hemorrhagic stroke a year ago. I just started watching your videos for any tips for my recovery. Thank you.

    I sleep upright. I don't like being low or flat in bed I think I am sleeping better now than before.

    Good tips. Lately I’ve been waking up still tired. I think my biggest problem is not getting enough exercise during the day, I’m going to work on that

      @stevekierstead, It's unfortunately part of the fatigue cycle, and actually something I'm dealing with right now as well. You're too tired to exercise, but then you don't exercise so you're fatigued. Then the cycle repeats. It's the starting that's the hard part ❤️

    I am going into my 3rd year of stroke recovery and wonder what are good stretches for my ankle. I have afo for my left side but I'm trying to strengthen my ankle for better walking I think my muscles above my knee are also very overactive and I'm trying to work on that

    After 2 strokes, 2 year apart, my friend can't sleep at all. Maybe it is a breathing problem

    GABA and ashwagandha help me alternative medicine. Ask your doctors. I have a red bulb in my night table to avoid light. Breathing 6/9 slowly also helps.

    I hsve a question if a person had a stroke can they lay on their back for recovery and improvement ?

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @samanthasims, Thank you for your question. If you had a stroke, you can still lie on your back but it won't necessary aid recovery. Did I answer your question?

    When does your brain heal most when your sleeping or awake

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @stevekierstead, Great question! When we're actually getting restorative sleep, that's when our brain is essentially cleaning up and taking out the trash. Sleep is a necessary component to healing!
