Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a 2019 first-person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Serving as the sixteenth overall installment in the Call of Duty series, as well as a reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series, it was released on October 25, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.
The game takes place in a realistic and modern setting. The campaign follows a CIA officer and British SAS forces as they team up with rebels from the fictional Republic of Urzikstan, combating together against Russian Armed Forces who have invaded the country and the Urzik terrorist group Al-Qatala, while searching for a stolen shipment of chlorine gas. The game's Special Ops mode features cooperative play missions that follow on from the campaign. The multiplayer mode supports cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform progression for the first time in the series. It has been reworked for gameplay to be more tactical and introduces new features, such as a Realism mode that removes the HUD as well as a form of the Ground War mode that now supports 64 players. A post-launch update introduces a free-to-play battle royale mode, Warzone, which was also marketed as a standalone title. Multiplayer also supports shared screen multiplayer. This mode includes bots, custom maps, custom game-modes and other creative game-interfering actions.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is an upcoming first-person shooter game co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. It will be the twenty-first installment of the Call of Duty series and the seventh entry in the Black Ops sub-series, following Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020). The game is scheduled for release on October 25, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, and is set to be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on release day.
Set during the early 1990s, Black Ops 6's single-player campaign-described as a "dynamic and intense spy thriller"-will act as a continuation of Black Ops Cold War's story. Its multiplayer component will contain sixteen brand-new maps at launch and restore several features from previous Call of Duty titles, such as the "Prestige" leveling system. Additionally, the game will feature a new iteration of the cooperative round-based Zombies mode, with two all-new maps being set for inclusion at launch, and include omnidirectional movement mechanics, allowing players to sprint, dive, and slide in any direction.
Black Ops 6 boasts the longest development cycle in Call of Duty history, spanning four years; some Treyarch employees stated that they have been play-testing the title since 2022. Marketing for the game began in May 2024, through the publishing of fictional advertisements on the front pages of multiple newspaper outlets and the release of several live-action teaser trailers; a full reveal debuted following the airing of the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase event on June 9.

@@TyphoidMarcus I mean, if you compare Black Ops 6, a game where Treyarch had almost the same amount of time that IW had to work on MW19 with Black Ops Cold War, a game made in basically two years after Black Ops 4 in a rush by it's evident shortcomings on launch, then yeah I would be understandably shocked on this substantial improvement.

I think we've reached a point where the differences are more down to developer preference. Treyarch does NOT want their games to look like Infinity Ward's games due to them going for a different artstyle. I think it's one of the more obvious differences between the 2 studios. It's not like how Infinity Ward changed the lighting from MW2019 to MWII to be more flat.
I don't agree. Infinity Ward can't remake these graphics and details themselves, I believe it has to do with time and budget.

The only reason mw2019 appears more 'photorealistic' is due to its heavily gritty and contrasting lighting, which they had to tone down for visibility (mw2019 had horrible visibility, where even mid-dark coloured skins easily blended in dark corners)

What do you mean Infinity Ward can't remake these designs? Its their engine that's been used throughout all the CoD projects now ... even BO6 had to switch to IW engine. Making a 2024 design tweak on someone else's 2019's engine ain't a huge feat.
Need context? Then compare 2018's BO4 to 2019's MW.
But am happy for Treyarch fans. They'll be able to play a good game based on a good engine this year.
@@SayakMajumder as much as I love mw2019, I do hate its diehard fans. MW2019 was, gameplay-decisions-perspective-wise, a very poorly designed game. The intense immersion felt incredible initially, but got overshadowed by trouble caused by gameplay issues like dark corners, over complicated maps with doors/windows everywhere, loud as shit footsteps, missing red dots and ninja perk, slow ads speeds, etc.
I feel like bo6 graphics are better than MWII(2022) and MWIII(2023) but not mw2019.

The more realistic lighting and color pallete are what make MW19 look so good. BO6 actually has better graphics and textures, it's just that they changed up the pallete and lighting for newer cods to improve visibility.

Black Ops 6 has some better diffuse shadowmaps, varying from object distance for light source. It's a nice detail. Whereas the shadows in MW2019 are uniform unless you use raytracing.
Absolutely insane, MW2019 was the best modern cod I ever played. Best sound, best graphics, best effects, most realistic gunplay. Edit: Most attention to detail.
I would disagree bo6 in this video did very well and I think most of it was better besides the sound but only a little. And the new look animations bo6 has is so much better. Some guns in mw were just plain black and bo6 actually had detail

@@roxe...3000 There really is no part in the animation indicating that they put it on safe, and also, when he ADS, you can see the lip of the selector on the side, whereas you cannot in MW 2019. It is only fair to infer that its on safe still.

@@playerslayer6923 Some people may be going too far but 2019 absolutely overall does look way more natural thanks to its art style, great color pallet and lighting from artistical standpoint. You can have as high graphical fidelity, the game will still look like sh*t compared to 2019 if the art style is bad. + the fact that they use MWII's engine for BO6 which has really ugly and pixelated reflections as well as screen space shadows and more things that look werid.

@@GKID7891 i wouldn't think treyarch as it's own studio would take assets from a separate studio, must've took inspo from mw22 or something. the guns did sound way softer as well, reloading was in fact louder than a gunshot and people dogged on it because of that haha.

MW2019 had better sound but that's it. Gameplay wise it's the most boring COD ever with MW2 and MW3. BO6 beta is already better in everything except for the sound I am honest.

For the gameplay, I don't really see how it's boring at all let alone "the most boring COD ever", that's taking it way too far.

@@zedus4042 The maps design was horrible. They were designed to protect new players and the game was created to help new players and give them a feeling that they are doing well. All regular COD players have paid the price by playing in horrible maps with an ultra fast TTK and loud foot steps, no red point on the mini map... Honestly when I say that it is the most boring COD ever I really mean it.
@@locuzsteaks but the visibility is still pretty sh*t in all the newer CoDs, if they wanted to make a better visibility, they could've just made enemy players to have colored outlines which would instantly fix any visibility problems while the visuals would still be kept intact.

I can't lie, BO6 does have very good animations but definitely not much better than MW2019 if at all, for example the SIG552 I would say has quite a bit better reload animations in MW2019 than in BO6, generally the animation quality is similar but 2019's animations look just a bit more polished and precise. However that's not even a big deal at all, the biggest issue is the fact that MW a game from 2019 still looks better than a game from 2024. The lighting and color pallet is just unbeatable in 2019.

Black Ops 6 inspects, Cuz they are creative, but still lower quality as animation.
BLOPS6 got better inspect animations, but that's it.
Also MW2019 is the only one doing smoke when you shoot and the casings getting ejected and it gives it that oomph that no other cod games since.

Man the gun designs, gun sounds, the movement was just fire. If they brought new maps and updated the old ones that would be not only the best game in COD franchise but it'd be god of fps.

MW19 has become a popular culture item. The perception that no matter what Treyarch does after MW19, it will not be better has settled in their minds. I find this extremely unrealistic and a nostalgia obsession in their minds. When I look at the texture details, lighting and shading, animations, BO6 is literally ahead of MW19. If MW19 is going to be better in one respect, it will be in terms of gunshot sounds.

MW19s animations are obviously better, but it’s nice to see Treyarch inch closer to IWs quality.
The hand models in BO6 are insane though. You can notice individual hair strands in the character’s arms and dirt under the fingernails of characters. Bets looking models I’ve seen.

Bo6 is finally starting to get there in terms of visual fidelity and clarity. But MW2019 still is king in pretty much everything. I think the biggest reason why 2019 still looks so good is the visual tone and color pallet they used for it. It’s just perfect, and makes everything look natural.
whats still crazy to me is that mw2019 can be played on an xbox one but you cant have packet burst in bo6 without loading all the crinkles in the beer can cross the map

It’s pretty realistic, it happens a lot in real life when you use automatic fire. Because the gun gets thrashed around a lot more in automatic the springs in the magazine jump around a lot more making that sound. It’s a little exaggerated but still a nice detail.
Mw2019 has better sound. You can hear the shot echo but it isnt that way in bo6

MW2019 is still better, but i think thats all in the lighting, the lighting has gotten brighter in the newer games because too many people complained about super dark shadows, if the lighting was the same as MW2019 i think these 2 games could look almost identical
also i like that BO6's guns actually look like real firearms, the design choices made in MW3 to deviate from their real life counterparts was just too much, they all looked like shit

No, it's an anochronistic russian firearm called the Gepard pdw -- it was based on the 74u but it was never actually manufactured on a large scale. Really, really cool gun that a lot of people forget.

Man even though mw19 looked so much better, the visibility problems in the game were crazy. The camos on the majority of the soldiers actually worked. I'm a COD hater but I understand why they made the game look a certain way to avoid visibility problems. Not buying this shit though.
5:09 they put the HK USP .45 into BO6.. BO6 is based in the gulf war which went from 1990-1991, the HK USP .45 was manufactured in 1995 😭

the multilayer maps say 1996, but you are correct in that a lot of the stuff in this game is not period correct - the attachments, the weapon handling, the reload animations, etc
