Aloha from Hawaii Robyn! I find it easiest to clean my oven racks with SOS pads. Rather than working on cleaning each metal "rung" on all sides one at time, I find it easiest to clean the side of all the rungs before moving on to the next, then I don't have maneuver the racks as much. I recently left my career in the Navy after 15.5 years to become a stay at home mother and wife. Your channel has helped me SO much with learning great ways to care for my family. It's made transition so much easier. Your ministry in your family has helped me in my ministry to my family! Thank you so much!
Thank you for your service to our great country, we appreciate your dedication and commitment to keeping our nation strong and safe. Congrats on your recent move from the Navy...I agree, Robin is an amazing motivator, disciplined lady and beautiful homemaker. God bless you!
Hello Texas friend! 💛 You are such a good steward of the home that God has blessed you with! I’m proud that even tho’ you dread a task, you do it anyway! “The joy of the Lord is our strength!”
Hi Robyn, I also hate cleaning my oven, but I find the easiest way is to leave the racks in the oven and spray oven cleaner over everything. Giving the racks a good coating. Leave for the required time then submerge racks in the bath in hot soapy water, soak for a couple of hours but take out while water is still warm, using a scrub brush to remove any debris. Hope this helps you. Regards from Australia
All of you here did the impossible which was to convince me to clean my oven. lol I have put it off for so long that it was a disaster but after watching Robin and reading comments I actually cleaned the thing. Easy peasy and looks great. Sorta silly the things we ignore but feel so satisfied when dealt with.
Hi Robin, I know this is an old video, you've moved, and you've perhaps found a better solution but I thought I'd share something that's helped me with cleaning my oven - making a paste with baking soda and liquid dish soap. That combination can get almost anything out! Also, cleaning out my oven is one of my least favourite jobs as well but you've encouraged me - I'll get to it soon before all the lovely autumn baking begins. One more thing: I just wanted to thank and encourage you if I could. I know so many are encouraged by your videos and it's such an amazing ministry. I'm sure it's so much work but you're such a blessing. I watched another video recently in which you mentioned time in God's word and he'll multiply you're time and order your steps. Thank you for that reminder; it's easy to get anxious about our time. God has bless you with wisdom, hasn't He? My daughter watches along with me and I love that she can see these examples of another godly woman blessing her family and serving the Lord so well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Much love from Winnipeg, Canada!
I’ve found an amazing way to clean the oven grates is to put them in a big trash bag with a healthy splash of ammonia. Tie the top tightly and leave them outside or in the garage overnight. If you can leave them in the sun, the heat helps too! The ammonia loosens everything and all the crud just rinses away!!!
You're right. This chore is the absolute worst. We need non-stick oven racks! 😄Placing a pan of ammonia in a closed oven overnight works really well too. Just wipe clean. The smell is an issue, so I ran my exhaust and opened the windows. I'm going to do the trash bag method again for my racks, but will coordinate with my husband so he can power wash them outside rather than trying to rinse them in the house. They're too wide for my sink or tub and scrubbing seems to just splatter everywhere. Another fantastic video, Robin!
When we used to have the coil electric burners on our stove top, I would put the drip pans in a plastic bag with ammonia and seal it overnight. Worked great! I also read you can set a bowl of ammonia in your oven overnight to clean it. You’d have to have a good seal on your oven. I never tried it.
I bought the steam shot, it is good for cleaning out window sills, the shower track and you can also use it to clean the washing machine but it seems to work best when you use it with a spray or cleaner and let it sit before you use the steam shot.
So many content creators make cleaning the oven seem super easy. I hate it as well and was glad to hear it exhausts someone else too! Ours is old and not sure the previous owners kept up with cleaning at all. I’m always putting this job off!
The oven looked fine to me! We have something called 'The Pink Stuff' it's non-toxic and it says we can use to clean ovens! I might do it this week because of your inspiration. I sometimes just put vinegar and baking soda and leave it then wipe. I once cleaned a really, really old oven this way which had not been cleaned for decades I am sure (it was a rented apartment) and when I left it was spotless. I love the e-cloths Robin, you always have the best ideas. God bless you and have a good week ahead.
Thank you! Baking Soda and vinegar is what I usually use. It does work pretty well, but I always manage to make a huge me ss. 😅 Hopefully “The Pink Stuff” will be the thing - you’ll have to let me know! 💗😊🌸
Hi Robyn, I too have always hated cleaning my oven. But when I got my new kitchen 17 years ago I vowed I would never let it get so bad that I would dread cleaning it. I have two very good tips for you you might like to try. Take out your racks, wipe them and the inside of the oven with a microfibre cloth and water to remove the grease. I use an Enjo microfibre kitchen glove. I do my racks one by one in my kitchen sink and scrub them with a WET stainless steel curly scourer. It still requires elbow grease, and I realise you have many shelves/racks in your oven, but the curly scourer scratches off all those golden baked on bits quite easily. This scourer also works brilliantly on the glass and on the inside walls of the oven too. Then again use the Enjo glove (or microfibre) to wipe everything down again. My second tip is , do this regularly. If I know I’ve cooked something that has spattered, I try to quickly wipe the oven (when it has become cold) with my Enjo glove. This removes all the grease which will not get baked on when I use the oven next time. I have never used any chemicals on this oven and I am pretty proud of my bright and shiny clean oven. 😊 I live in Australia, so I hope the curly stainless steel scourers are available in the US.
I've cleaned my nasty oven grates in our bathtub with dryer sheets. Works a charm. Left them in for several hours while I did other things. The baked in crud and grease just pretty much fell right off.
Your videos are always motivating! This video is making me feel guilty about the state of my oven! Cleaning my oven is my most disliked chore in the house! You have inspired me to tackle the dreaded oven. Thank you so much for your inspiration and honesty. Wishing you a blessed week ahead.
💐 It has very recently dawned on me to treat the grates on top of my stove, and also the removable parts of my oven, like dirty dishes and put them in the dishwasher as soon as they get dirty. 😊👍
If you decide to try the scrub your bubbles..be careful about removing the labels for which burners works each eye..it removed mine..but it sure removes the grease also..
Great video. On the oven racks I place them in a black trash bag with a cup of ammonia. Leave outside in sun for about 8 hours. Rinse outside and wipe down and they look like new with very little effort.
I agree. I absolutely hate oven cleaning. I was just thinking about trying the easy off fume free. Glad I saw this. I recently tried a cleaning trick for the mesh filter. Sprinkle with oxi clean and pour boiling water on it. Grease instantly just floats off of it. My mouth literally dropped open. I love it when Austin drops in to "help".
I agree with natural as possible but I also use easy-off on my oven grates. I put them on my table outside on newspaper. Spray and let sit until morning and I wipe clean.
I have the self clean Dacor electric ovens. Racks and convection fan cover need to be removed before self clean cycle. The extreme heat ruins the shiny chrome finish and the the grate/racks don't easily slide in and out if you forget. I use Easy Off Oven Cleaner (smelly works best) on the glass window interior and on the racks. I take the racks outside, place on brown paper sacks and spray thoroughly both sides. Allow them to set 15 minutes or so. Wipe/brush clean. Repeat this process if needed. Excellent results.
I hate cleaning the oven too. I do have a hand steamer and I do use it on the surfaces in my kitchen and bathrooms. It works good on grout. I just feel like it makes things a little more sanitized. I love my steam mop too. I try not to use harsh chemicals in my house if I can help it. I love your channel ❤️
I have a gas cleaning oven that came with the house that we bought in 2012. I also recently discovered mats that go in the bottom of gas or electric ovens. I wish I had known about them years ago!
Cleaning that vent on the stove, are you not afraid about all the water going inside..those greats, I put them in dishwasher.. does a great job..plus.. scrub your bubbles is wonderful on the oven..
I had the same issues with a steamer that I purchased to do the same job! In the end I resorted to oven cleaner...I put the racks in a rubbish bag, sprayed the racks, shut the bags up tightly and left them over night. This was an excellent solution (despite using the much despised chemicals!). Still had to scrub a bit but not much.
Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry you have buyers remorse but you have saved us all from rushing out to buy the steamer. I was really hoping it would work and I was ready to purchase. Love your videos!
If I am going to bake something messy (splatters, drips, etc...), I take all but one of the oven racks out. That way, I only have one really dirty rack to deal with! Saves lots of cleaning time and effort!
I have a gas stove and oven and I too was tired of cleaning it. I bought a oven liner made for gas ovens, it is called ROCK THE FORK Essentials , it comes with 4 liners and it is BPA free and if you look it up you can read about it with more information. I love my steamer and use it to clean the tracks of the patio doors, windows sills showers door tracks and many more items.
Thank you Ginger! I am going to check that out! There are so many comments from those of you who love your steamers - I will give mine another chance! 😄👍💗
The oven is my most dreaded task, too! I have a Bissell steam shot, and I love it! I am handicapped, and I can't clean the crevices like I used to. The steam shot is wonderful at getting into the cracks and crevices all over the house. I especially like using it in the bathroom. It's great to clean around the toilet. I couldn't do without mine. I, too, have tried "all things natural" for my oven, but I gave up and use oven cleaner. I clean my wire grates with it, too. No scrubbing needed.
Grids from oven vents come clean instantly if you put them in hot water with Oxi-Clean. The water turns greasy brown almost instantly. Rinse, done. I have the Steam Shot, too but for this task, the Oxi-Clean worked much better.
A couple of things. Even though this isn’t really environmentally friendly, you can put your metal grates in a plastic bag, add a little ammonia, tie them up and put them in the sun. This has worked for me in the past, though I try to avoid this unless things get really bad. Also, my mom had a gas stove/oven that was continuous clean. The inside of the oven has a rough texture, but I don’t remember mom ever having to clean the oven. Don’t know if they still make those, but you might check.
Thanks for your review of the steam shot and I too dislike cleaning the oven. I enjoy your channel. Ty for sharing your time and adventures in cleaning. HUGS and GOD bless you all 🤗.
I got a silicone mat and cut it to fit my oven and it goes about an inch up the sides. Washes or wipes clean. My oven most always looks clean. And I’ve had it for 3 years.
Loved your video. The best method to clean Greasy Range Hood Filters is what I saw on “Clean my Space” by Melissa Maker. Just boil up a kettle full of water and add a scoop of OxiClean to a bucket. You’re going to put a gallon of hot water in here and mix well. Take out your filter from the overhead exhaust compartment and just dunk it into the bucket filled with the solution. Leave it for 5 minutes and then flip it around. After 10 minutes give it a good rinse and lay it flat to dry. Hope you try it!!
Can you give a review of your Ninja flip up oven/ air fryer? I love how it clears up counter space but would be interested to hear your thoughts of how it actually works. Thx!
I will definitely talk about that! I love it and use it daily. You can find it in my Amazon Store in the Kitchen section: www.amazon.com/shop/faithandflour 😊🌸💗
Hi Robin, you have a very nice stove. Lots of movable parts. I can see why it is your lest favorite thing to clean. But with that being said, it’s a beautiful stove. 👍🏻
Good morning Robin. I understand completely your frustration with buying things hoping they will work and then being disappointed. Also, I literally do not like cleaning the oven as well and have found that Easy Off is the only thing that works. I must say you have a lot of patience which you can see [paid off in the end] because you did an excellent job of cleaning your oven. Your home Robin always looks very maintained and beautiful. I enjoyed this video.
I put my grates in a large trash bag and soak a cloth with ammonia and close it up and let sit for as long as you can. Then take out and the grease comes off easy.
Hi Robin Thank you. I have the hardest time cleaning my oven in the back where it is very hard to reach for me. Trouble with knees …. I was looking for a steam mop and I appreciate your sharing your thoughts about. Will check your Amazon listing. Awesome video. Have a fantastic Sunday.
Thank you Kathy! I know what you mean - I can barely reach that part either! 😅 I hope that you enjoy the steam mop if you decide to get one. Have a blessed Sunday! 😊🌸💗
Robin, I always love your optimism but thanks too for the dose of realism! The oven racks are always a dreaded chore for me too. I bought a plastic baby pool to soak them in outside on the patio. I use hot water and one or two dishwasher detergent pods and let them soak a few hours on a sunny day. I think the steam shot was not a total disappointment - it looks like it did a great job on the stove parts!
Thank you Angel! I’ve heard from several of you that gas ovens now have the self cleaning feature. I love my oven, but if it ever needs replacing I will be looking for one of those! 😂👍💗
Bless your heart, what a frustrating time you had! In true Robin fashion you chuckled your way through it and gave us inspiration. Thank you for keeping it real and letting us see those moments that are frustrating and didn’t work out as planned. Your oven turned out beautiful so job well done! Have a good week 🙂 Blessings 🌻
Hey Robin! Love you videos and never comment… 🤦🏻♀️. Cleaning vents: if you soak your vent in super hot water and oxy clean- cleans it right up. No scrubbing.
Hi Robin - I hate the oven cleaning also. I have a self cleaning oven but I seldom use it. I dont like how hot it gets and I worry about the aging wiring in my house. I clean the oven every time I am on the kitchen zone. I used vinegar and baking soda. It does well and since I do it so often it is not that bad. I have heard others say the are disappointed with the tool you were using too. I just bought a shark vacuum almost like yours. It’s a stick vac and it has a lift away part that you can take off to clean your couch or car. But I got a corded one because it was rated so high for power and I have some parts of my house that are carpeted. I got it on sale at Walmart for $229 (without tax). I saw Amanda on This Crazy Life highly recommending it. I am thinking of going to urgent care today. I got stung by a wasp on Friday and it is really swollen and red and the redness is traveling up my arm. The ladies at Sunday School this morning thought I needed medical attention for it. Thanks for this video, sweet sister in Christ.
Sending up prayers for your wasp sting Donna! I agree with your friends- sounds like medical attention would be wise. As for the oven - vinegar and baking soda do pretty well for me too. It just becomes a big messy project every time! 😂 I guess I need to face it - there aren’t any good shortcuts and cleaning more often would probably be a lot better. 👍 God bless you and I pray that your arm heals quickly. 🙏💗
My mom used to say, “No one ever died of oven crud poisoning,” lol. For years, I repeated that to myself while I lived with a dirtier oven than I liked because cleaning it was so hard. I have a self cleaning oven now and definitely prefer that over the harsh chemicals. But the chemical cleaners do work really well…and it’s not something you have to do all that often (thankfully!). Just make sure to ventilate the area well.
Mine is electric and has a self-cleaning cycle. Don't use it very often though because it tends to burn the knobs on the stove. My least favorite task is the ceilings. It hurts to stretch my arms above my head for too long. Doesn't help my arm strength is severely weakened from my breast reduction in 2015. They are still seven to nine cup sizes too large. I'm a 34J in UK sizing and a 34M in US sizing. Largest I should be is a 34F and 34D is what balances with my hips.
In my old home I placed the oven racks on large plastic bags in the garage. I would liberally spray them with oven cleaner and leave overnight. The next day the grease and baked on gunk came off reasonably easy. I do think it helps to keep on top of it, which I think you are already doing
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! My self cleaning feature stopped working and I’ve struggled to clean it properly. I just ordered Ecloths and will try the tub dawn tip. It’s helpful to know you feel the same way I do about the oven 😂
I feel your pain Jennifer! 😂 The Dawn worked okay, but you might want to read the other comments - I’ve had tons of great suggestions to try for next time. 👍💗
I know what you mean about cleaning the stove/oven. Try the Dawn Powerwash on your oven racks next time. I have experienced it works on things that other methods or cleaners don’t. Have a blessed week! 🙂❤️🌸
I have seen the videos about the steam shot and really Dawn dish detergent cleans my stove very good. The vents are clean and the racks. The steam process seems so messy. Lesson learned.
I had the same problem with my oven until I bought a pyrolitic oven. Now I don't have to clean it any more. I think it's one of the best purchases you can make.
I’m with you cleaning the oven is a hateful task. I use a razor blade cleaning scraper on the really burnt on bits, if you use it with some water and dish soap it doesn’t scratch. I’ve bought a new vacuum recently too. I got the new Miele triflex cordless and it’s amazing almost as good as the full-size Miele. My Dyson stick kept on cutting out all the time so it was time for new one! 😊❤️😍
Hi! I agree cleaning the oven/stove is a tedious task! But I use this solution for cleaning the racks and cast iron grates...it works great for bbq grills also. I use clear ammonia. Yikes! I know I hate the stuff BUT it works. Here's the method: Put on gloves , goggles, gas mask. Gather ammonia, large heavy duty black garbage bags and your oven racks, grates etc. Bring everything outside. Place grates flat in bags. Carefully pour ammonia over grates in bags enough to make a puddle for the grates to sit in inside the bags. Tie bags closed. Now lay them in the sun for a few hours to over night. Carefully turn bags occasionally. Open bags carefully away from you and down wind. Slide the grates out, scrub with some dish soap to clean off ammonia. Rinse with garden hose or buckets of water. Dry them and viola' sparkly clean! Discard ammonia down drain or toilet and put the garbage bags in garbage. And put the ammonia away until next year! This works great and all the noxious stuff is mostly done outside. Ammonia is a great solvent for difficult greasy, hardened messes it just has to be respected and handled very carefully. I hope this helps!! God bless!
I guess maybe it was the ammonia suggestion that only rated me a "heart" and all the rest got comments and hearts. Lol...didn't mean to offend. It is a genuine method that does work. You just have to use an abundance of caution and common sense when handling it. Even the "no odor" cleaning products are air pollutants and can leave behind a film that, upon heating, can cause fumes when next using your oven, thus contaminating your food and air in your home with now heated toxic fumes. The "odorless" oven cleaners also "off gas" odorless toxins. Personally I would want to be able to smell the product that I'm using so I could truely know if it had dissipated completely after thoroughly rinsing and upon first use of the oven. And no matter what the method of doing this task, caution, proper ventilation and safety gear are a must. Thanks so much for your encouraging videos and helpful suggestions. Take care and God continue to bless.
Hi Doris! The "heart" means I read your comment - I wish that I could comment back on each, but usually after the first day or so, I have to spend my time working on the next video! I do try to read and acknowledge as many as I can. I appreciate your suggestion and will be putting it to the test in my next video. See you then and God bless! 💛💛💛
@@FaithandFlour , yes I see many TH-camrs saying positive thing about it. But my use case is similar to yours, hence I really appreciate your video. Thanks
I guess I was wrong about that Annette! I’m hearing from a lot of you that have self cleaning gas ovens. I love mine, but will definitely opt for that feature next time! 😂👍💗
Hi Robyn, here in the UK we have a product called oven pride. It is effortless when it comes to cleaning the oven. Might be worth checking to see if you can purchase it in the USA.
You did a fantastic job with cleaning the oven and stove. It’s one of my dreaded tasks as well and one that I procrastinate with so often. I’m sorry for your disappointment and I hope you return the offending item. I’ve experienced this before and had no trouble returning or exchanging the item. Here’s hoping for a better week. Melissa 🌼
Hey Robin, to clean the oven racks, I find that spraying them with oven cleaner and putting them in a garbage bag overnite really helps get rid of the baked on grease. Love your channel❤️
I also hate cleaning the oven however I’ve found that if you put some ammonia in a large sink or container, it doesn’t even have to cover the over racks, and let it soak over night. The ammonia basically melts everything off of the oven racks without scrubbing.
My oven came with two racks, but I took one out and only use one because I, too, hate to clean the oven, especially the racks. I, too, have a gas stove which I love, but I miss my old self- cleaning electric oven.
Oven cleaning is definitely the least favorite job of all! It's so hard to shift any patches of baked on grease. Many people have told me how much they love stick vacuums so I'd better get saving for one. Thanks for another encouraging and helpful video. ✨ Greetings from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thank you! It’s good to know you are with me on that. 😅 You can’t beat a good stick vacuum for convenience- I’ll let you know if this one is worth the investment. 😉🌸💗
The steam shot works really well on grout. Definitely doesn't work at all on ovens, but is awesome for awkward spots. Mine comes in handy for all sorts of things. Nasty toilets is one of my favorites, but I have a little boy. Your toilet might not get quite as awful as mine.
Actually this video made me feel a lot better about cleaning cooking appliances. Like you I want mine to look like new but it’s just not possible. Good to know I’m not alone in this frustration. I can only do one or two oven racks at a time because of all the work. I do have self cleaning but clean racks separately. I just have to keep reminding myself how blessed I am to have a good kitchen and food. Blessings!
Good Sunday morning to you sweet friend & neighbor, it is me, Lauren, here in Houston!!!! Ahhhh, always LOVE your home cleaning videos & your home is sooo beautiful :) Oh yes, the oven, that is a hard task, I agree! You did an awesome job & oh wow, there is my boy, AUSTIN!!!!!! Thank you for sharing, now I have to get up, push away from the computer & get to work myself, LOL...thank you for the motivation, love you & God bless you & the family! Tell Austin hello for me XOXOXO
Great video as usual. I also loathe cleaning my oven, and also tried something similar to the steam shot, with the same results.I really like your steam mop, but can’t seem to find it here in the U.K. Thanks for all that you do. Yours is my favourite youtube channel.
My oven is my least liked space to clean. It’s at an awkward angle to reach. I like my steam shot on everything but my oven. I did see some improvements on the glass but anything metal it didn’t clean without a lot of effort.
I know! I didn’t mention that - but contorting myself to reach the back is no fun either! 😅 I guess I should give the power shot another chance on some other jobs. Have a blessed Sunday! 😊🌸💗
🙋🏼♀️ Robin, the oven is my nemesis too. I won’t tell you how long I left it before cleaning it 😆 I am a perfectionist too and because I can never get it perfect, it really puts me off doing it.
Thanks Teresa- it’s good to know I’m not alone in that! Being a perfectionist is not always the best - especially when faced with a task like that! 🤦♀️😅🌸💗
Hi Robin, my worst job is the oven it is the hardest thing to clean, I do put the racks in the bath and I also bought a steamer 2 weeks ago but have not tried it yet. I use the big steamer for the shower tiles floor and corners, the small one is for windows and slide in doors ect. Thankyou again beautiful lady, just love your videos and great to see Austin again.🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘💓🐨❤️
I have a gas oven with the self clean feature. It doesn't work very well, but it does get most of the gunk off. And I am not the perfectionist, either. I hate the smell, too.
I need to clean our oven out too. We usually just use baking soda and water. I like your Shark vacuum--we are soon going to be looking at a cordless...especially because our daughter loves helping to vacuum and I'm so scared she is going to suck up the cord, lol.
I’ll be letting you know how I like my new cordless. So far l really love it! It’s in the Cleaning section of my Amazon Store if you want to check it out: www.amazon.com/shop/faithandflour 😊🌸💗
My stove manual specifically says to not put anything on the bottom of the oven. I know a lot of people do though. I just put a large flat aluminum (disposable type) tray on the bottom rack of the oven. I don't usually use that bottom rack anyway.
Try the new Dawn Powerwash the next time. I haven’t tried it on the oven although I see a lot of You Tube videos using. It is interesting what you said about the gas oven not being able to use the self cleaner - I have a Kenmore gas oven and it has the self cleaning feature that does great.
Hi Peggy! I saw some suggestions for Dawn Powerwash too. Maybe I’ll give that a try next time. That’s great that you found a gas oven that self cleans. I’m glad the technology has improved! 👍 If I were to buy another oven I’d get one with a gas cooktop and an electric oven. Definitely with the self cleaning feature! 😅👍💗
I had one of those hand held steam cleaners years ago. I wasnt crazy about it either. It was ok. It never cleaned like the infomercials said. I have a steam mop and love mine too. I also have a gas stove and oven and my oven has a self cleaning option. Tfs
I just tackled my oven this past week, so satisfying when it is done. Like you I cook and bake a lot also so I try to do it every 4 months which I find comes around quickly especially when it’s a job I dislike. Thanks for your review on the steam cleaner, I was tempted to buy one also recently but now I guess I will probably pass on that purchase now. You are always very motivating, have a good day. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you Pauline! I think I need to clean mine more often also. That would probably help a lot! If you are considering a steam cleaner, check out some of the other comments. Many people love theirs for things other than oven cleaning. 😂🌸💗
Oh no... so sorry you're not happy with your steam shot purchase. I have a different brand, but same exact concept. I find it works best for difficult to reach areas like in/under/around the toilet seat hinges (I was shocked the first time I used it in what I thought was my son's clean bathroom). It also works well down in the sliding glass door tracks.
I had to laugh as I have just done my oven in the past few weeks and our experiences were so similar. I tried the vinegar and baking soda with some small success but ended up using the oven cleaner which I was also trying to avoid but it did work well. I think that I will just do my oven seasonally and it will be easier overall and use the cleaner for the difficult bits. By the way I am using your method of daily and weekly and monthly and seasonal cleaning and it is working out well. It has worked better than other systems I have tried. Thank you.
Hi Anya! I agree - oven cleaning needs to be more frequent, but I’m not looking forward to it! 😂 I’m so glad that my systems and routines have been working for you. Have a blessed week! 😊🌸💗
Thank you Lisa! It really helps to have encouragement from you too! God bless!😊🌸💗
Thank you Lizzie! I will try that next time. I appreciate the tip so much.👍 Have a blessed Sunday! 😊🌸💗
All of you here did the impossible which was to convince me to clean my oven. lol I have put it off for so long that it was a disaster but after watching Robin and reading comments I actually cleaned the thing.
That sounds amazing Tiare! Thank you! 👍😊🌸💗
I need to try this method!
I’ve done this too and it works perfectly (except for the ammonia smell 🥴) and saves tons of elbow grease!
Thanks Vickie! I think it just doesn’t get hot enough for the jobs I had in mind. Oh well! 😄🌸💗
So many content creators make cleaning the oven seem super easy. I hate it as well and was glad to hear it exhausts someone else too! Ours is old and not sure the previous owners kept up with cleaning at all. I’m always putting this job off!
I hear you Kristen! 😅😂👊💗
Try the dawn powerwash on those vent filters. Works like magic.
😮😮 I'm cleaning mine this week and I will be trying this!!
I’ve heard great things about that - I will definitely be trying it! 👍😊💗
Thank you so much Maria! I will be looking for the stainless steel curly scourer! 👍 I agree that I need to keep on top of it better too! 😂🌸💗
I always love your honest recommendations!! 😊
I really like Krud Kutter for the vent grates.
Misery loves company- I’m glad I could help motivate you to take it on! Happy cleaning Carol! 😄🌸💗
The steam cleaner is great for window sill corners.
Krud kutter work so good on the stove grease. I put it on my inside oven door and it came out sparkling
I appreciate the music you choose it’s not to much nice and soothing it makes it even more enjoyable to watch ❤️
Thank you Tonya! I’m so glad you like it! 😊🌸💗
💐 It has very recently dawned on me to treat the grates on top of my stove, and also the removable parts of my oven, like dirty dishes and put them in the dishwasher as soon as they get dirty. 😊👍
I do the racks in a bathtub too, but I use a box of inexpensive powdered dishwasher detergent. No to little scrubbing required!
Thank you Carole! I wish I had tried that! 😄👍💗
Hello Robyn. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos!😊
Thank you Catalina! 😊🌸💗
That’s a great idea Lilian! I’m willing to give it a shot! 👍😄💗
@@FaithandFlour Emphasis on doing this outside. You need good ventilation for the ammonia. Not good to inhale and always wear gloves.
Thank you Eva! I love that tip!
😊🌸💗🐾
Thank you Beth! 👍😊💗
I like the steam shot for areas that are hard to reach such as our windows, patio doors track
You and several others have suggested that - so I guess I will have to find some other uses for it. Thank you for the tip!!! 😊🌸💗
Love your cleaning videos 😍 This is exactly what I’m doing today, cleaning my home!
Thank you! I’m glad I could help - happy cleaning! 😄🌸💗
I use a Lot of natural cleaners but sometimes it’s awesome to use other stuff
I am with you on that! 👍😄💗
I have a Dupray steamer. Works great. If you want to use steam I think a machine with more PSI/temp works better. I also hate the oven.
You are probably right! 👍😄💗
Thanks Judy! That’s a great idea!
👍😄💗
Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry you have buyers remorse but you have saved us all from rushing out to buy the steamer. I was really hoping it would work and I was ready to purchase. Love your videos!
Cleaning the shower is the bane of my cleaning chores 😱😱
Thank you Donna! All of the favorable comments have convinced me to give it a try in some other areas - especially the bathrooms! 👍😄💗
I hate cleaning stove and oven but the Easy off blue one is fume free and works great for oven and some stoves too.
It did work well Paola - so far it’s the best one I’ve tried. 😊🌸💗
Thank you Sandra! God bless you and your family as well! 😊🌸💗
Thank you
I got a silicone mat and cut it to fit my oven and it goes about an inch up the sides.
Thank you Divya! I will definitely be trying that! 👍😊💗
Can you give a review of your Ninja flip up oven/ air fryer? I love how it clears up counter space but would be interested to hear your thoughts of how it actually works. Thx!
Thank you for reminding me. I too would be very interested and would like to know the model number.
I will definitely talk about that! I love it and use it daily. You can find it in my Amazon Store in the Kitchen section: www.amazon.com/shop/faithandflour
😊🌸💗
@@FaithandFlour Thanks, looking forward to it.
Yes please to a review. My son's oven is packing up and as he has a tiny kitchen an air fryer would save on space
I put the racks in a big, black garbage bag and spray them with oven cleaner. Leave them overnight and rinse them off...its like magic!
I wish I’d thought of that Kelly! Thanks!!! 😄🌸💗
Hi Robin, you have a very nice stove. Lots of movable parts. I can see why it is your lest favorite thing to clean. But with that being said, it’s a beautiful stove. 👍🏻
So right Mary - I really shouldn’t complain, because I do appreciate and love our stove very much. It serves us well! 👍😊🌸💗
Thank you Helen! Have a blessed Sunday! 😊💗💕
I struggle with keeping my oven clean too. O hope you all have a blessed day!
God bless you and your family as well! 😊🌸💗
I put my grates in a large trash bag and soak a cloth with ammonia and close it up and let sit for as long as you can.
Then take out and the grease comes off easy.
That’s an idea I’m definitely going to try Julie! Thank you! 😊🌸💗
Hi Robin
Thank you.
You can take the oven door off. Just look up your model on youtube and it will show you now.
Thank you Kris! I love the baby pool idea - keep the mess outside! 👍😄🌸💗
Hi Robin, We have an LG brand gas stove/oven and it has a self cleaning feature. I haven't used it, but it's there.
Thank you Angel! I’ve heard from several of you that gas ovens now have the self cleaning feature. I love my oven, but if it ever needs replacing I will be looking for one of those! 😂👍💗
Krud Kutter is your miracle worker. Walmart carries it in the automotive section.
Thanks Beth! 😂👍💗
I love your attitude and positive vibes!
Thank you Kathryn! You are so kind to let me “vent” once in a while! 😂👍💗
Hey Robin! Love you videos and never comment… 🤦🏻♀️. Cleaning vents: if you soak your vent in super hot water and oxy clean- cleans it right up. No scrubbing.
Hi Nikki! I’m so glad you did! 😄💗
Thank you for the tip- I will give it a try! 👍
Sounds like your mom is a smart lady!!! 👍😄💗
Denise, toooo funny! oven crud poisoning... lol
Your mama is right!! And yes I inherited a self cleaning oven from my mothering law who never used that function! I’ll never go back 😂💯.
That’s another hard job for sure Jean! 😊🌸💗
Señora Robin su cosina luce como nueva muy buen trabajo 👏 gracias 😊
Thank you Maria! 😊🌸💗
In my old home I placed the oven racks on large plastic bags in the garage. I would liberally spray them with oven cleaner and leave overnight. The next day the grease and baked on gunk came off reasonably easy. I do think it helps to keep on top of it, which I think you are already doing
Sounds like a great solution! 👍😄💗
Thank you Carla! I’ve heard good things about that too! 👍😊💗
I have seen the videos about the steam shot and really Dawn dish detergent cleans my stove very good. The vents are clean and the racks. The steam process seems so messy. Lesson learned.
Absolutely Sandra! 🙈😂💗
I had the same problem with my oven until I bought a pyrolitic oven. Now I don't have to clean it any more. I think it's one of the best purchases you can make.
I haven’t heard of that - but now you have me very curious! Thank you!!! 😊🌸💗
That’s a good idea! 👍
I looked at the Miele too. I’m glad it lives up to it’s reputation! Have a blessed Sunday!
😊🌸💗
@@FaithandFlour Thank you I’m so happy with it !

@@FaithandFlour I will definitely be back! You may see me in the comments from some previous videos because I definitely want to check them out! ❤️
I have used ammonia to clean the oven racks-outside only, and it was the easiest way with excellent results.
Hi Doris! The "heart" means I read your comment - I wish that I could comment back on each, but usually after the first day or so, I have to spend my time working on the next video! I do try to read and acknowledge as many as I can. I appreciate your suggestion and will be putting it to the test in my next video. See you then and God bless! 💛💛💛
@@FaithandFlour Lol I understand! Thank you for the reply. I look forward to the video. Get your hazmat suit out! Lol

@@FaithandFlour , yes I see many TH-camrs saying positive thing about it. But my use case is similar to yours, hence I really appreciate your video. Thanks
I have a gas stove and we have the self cleaning cycle. I run that cycle around every 6 months also.

Hey Robin, to clean the oven racks, I find that spraying them with oven cleaner and putting them in a garbage bag overnite really helps get rid of the baked on grease. Love your channel❤️
Thank you Rebecca! I should have consulted with my amazing subscribers before I started - you guys have the best ideas! 👍💗💗💗
I also hate cleaning the oven however I’ve found that if you put some ammonia in a large sink or container, it doesn’t even have to cover the over racks, and let it soak over night. The ammonia basically melts everything off of the oven racks without scrubbing.
Thank you Vanessa! I will definitely be trying that! 👍😄💗
My oven came with two racks, but I took one out and only use one because I, too, hate to clean the oven, especially the racks. I, too, have a gas stove which I love, but I miss my old self- cleaning electric oven.
It sounds like we are on the same page Louise! 👍😄💗
Thank You for your honest review!
You’re welcome Karen! Have a blessed week! 😊🌸💗
The steam shot works really well on grout. Definitely doesn't work at all on ovens, but is awesome for awkward spots. Mine comes in handy for all sorts of things. Nasty toilets is one of my favorites, but I have a little boy. Your toilet might not get quite as awful as mine.
We got a new oven last year. Its self cleaning. My 1st one 🙂
I hope you love it Judy! 👍😅💗
Blessings!
I’m glad you can relate Pamela! 😅 But you are right - what really matters is that we have everything we need and more. 🙏😊🌸💗
I'm surprised a Thermador range doesn't have a self-clean cycle. Even my GE gas range has a self-clean option.
I really wish it did Kathy. I love it in all other respects. Maybe the newer models have it. Have a blessed Sunday!

My oven is my least liked space to clean. It’s at an awkward angle to reach. I like my steam shot on everything but my oven. I did see some improvements on the glass but anything metal it didn’t clean without a lot of effort.

@@FaithandFlour True Robin. 🌺🌸🌼
I have to say your "dirty" stuff looks better than most of my "clean" stuff.
I have a gas oven with the self clean feature. It doesn't work very well, but it does get most of the gunk off. And I am not the perfectionist, either. I hate the smell, too.
It’s good to know that feature is available- even if it’s not perfect. I’m working on getting past that! 😉😂💗
I need to clean our oven out too. We usually just use baking soda and water. I like your Shark vacuum--we are soon going to be looking at a cordless...especially because our daughter loves helping to vacuum and I'm so scared she is going to suck up the cord, lol.

I still love my power shot for other jobs. Great at disinfecting!
That’s what I hear, so I won’t give up on it yet! 😄👍💗
Instead of foil on the bottom of your oven, you could try the oven liners that are silicone and made for the oven.
Many of the comments suggest that. I will definitely be looking into it. Thank you Brandi!!! 😊🌸💗

Tfs
Thank you Lynnette! 😊🌸💗
I have a self-cleaning gas oven..
I’m so glad that my systems and routines have been working for you. Have a blessed week! 😊🌸💗
@@FaithandFlour I'm not looking forward to it either! 😂 take care and God bless.
