You can hear the lack of suspension in your vibration-warbling voice, your knees struggling to suck it up. I can certainly see it feeling more crisp, but at 57 I’ll never step back on an unsuspended wheel again willingly. Sherman S is my dream wheel after catch-and-release of Patton. Takeaway is mainly how idiosyncratic are personal preferences!
Lol😂 me too! I just got into this and have quickly picked it up. As I got to feeling comfortable riding I started wondering if I should’ve went bigger.
Same here lmfao I was actually looking up these vids seeing where the new wheels are at and I'm honestly so happy with my v 12 I might get a second one instead
Accelerating can be made very easy on a suspention wheel by allowing the EUC to tilt more forward during acceleration so it's mass helps with the acceleration. Its in the settings of for example the EUC world app. Removing suspension just results in more damage to your joints for the same benefit you could have gotten without it. The only difference is that braking right after accelerating is slower via the first method. But it's very uncommon to be braking right after accelerating in real world use. That's like a double screwup for that to happen. And even then it's not the end of the world just a bit slower braking which we deal with anyways with lower torque wheels and such.
@@Dogo.R So are the Feedback fallacy, confirmation bias and the fallacy of Incomplete Comparison. Removing suspension doesn't necessarily equate to joint damage. Your braking scenario isn't universal. Your input and insight are interesting, but don't take into account many other use cases. Also, none of us should opine on the V13-suspension unless we have tried it. Logic.
Been riding my v13 suspensionless from the start... (Short fat guy problems). And a lot have liked my setup. Same as you they have the same feedback on it.
Stock V13 come in lowest pedal setting, I’m really hoping the Russians make a pedal lowering kit, as a 20-30mm drop would achieve a similar result and keep the barley adequate suspension I’ve done the measurements and there’s still a ton of clearance
I love my Commander Pro with its hydraulic suspension etc but the V12 HT I ride in between feels so connected...love the look of the v13 sans suspension,.
Probably not for me (V13), but I've learned to withhold too much judgment until riding a wheel for at least a couple of hundred miles. I "hated" my master for a few hundred miles. Then I got it onto the dirt, and it became my new favorite - at least for off-road. One of my other favs, the Shermax kills my knees off-road.
I thought that after suspension wheels started to come out, it was over for non-suspension wheels. But no. The ride isn't "worse" on a non-suspension wheel. Suspension is not "necessary" to ride, merely safer and bit more comfortable. But it's also less interesting, maybe even less fun. It's fun to feel the road so well, be so connected. Suspension muffles everything.
I bought a used v11 and hated the suspension. One day, I just decided to try letting the air out of the suspension and riding it. I now love the v11 for all the same reasons you listed in your video (other than seated which I can't do).
Hey Adam, it is great that you are trying such a things! I have never seen test of V13 without suspension. Anyway I still think that this wheel is nonsense. Too heavy (motor and tire 20kg? LOL). I am very curious about the new Inmotion adventure wheels with swapable battery!
Yeah, it's amazing the difference that the features of a new tire can make. I have the MSP-HT. My old stock there needed to change and I put on that motorcycle tire that the MSX 84v stock came with. Very zippy, have to lean a little more into the turn.
I really can understand what you are saying. They all make sense, except for getting rid of the suspension. I mean not wiping out at speed due to a bump can be made or broken by the application of suspension. I don't see removing it as a good idea overall. Now if you are intimately familiar with all of the paths you are riding maybe suspension isn't so important, as you know where things are and how to avoid them.
V13 cells are potted in epoxy (?). Not sure why they don't use urethane foam like Tesla which would be lighter and have some elastisity. Maybe the best anti-vibration fix is the neoprene on all sides of the battery that Begode uses but Leaperkim doesn't have this on their Shermans (only minimal amount on on side) and they don't seem to have issues. Maybe people don't keep wheels long enough for vibration to rear its head or any cell connection issues get blamed on crashes. I don't know why people just don't put a fat tire on. Sure for the manufacturers thinner tires are cheaper and lighter but a 3 inch sidewall can give you 50mm suspension.
@@mr_wrongway you are true about quality check, but on the final, look the quality of s22 pro ( low quality, 1000 miles everything broken already ) the v13 ok quality impressive but need to drive without suspension for can get something affordable, so that better then begode really?
Being that it is lowered to the ground on the foot pedals does that make it easier for a beginner to use an advanced wheel? Or is the weight still a big contributed factor to making it hard to learn on?
Well technically you can take high pedals and widen them and then stand more spread out and you will have just as much control as an euc with lower pedals. As for learning, a heavier wheel is more stable while you are going, but less stable when you are not moving. So heavy is harder at the earlier stages, easier at the later stages (since you dont need as perfect of control).
I'm 60kg and I ride my v13 without much issue at this point, it feels so zippy to me. love my wheel with suspension but its interesting to see it without suspension, planning to swap to a street tire soon though!
It should be balanced. CNC shop with precision made these wheels. I have a MSX V2 2500W HT. Changed my tire without issue. No speed balance weights on it b4.
I ride my v13 fast, 82 kmh is my speed record. So its a small motorbike really. I'll try upgrading pedalheight, you are absolutely right off roading v13 is a bad idea. So why does it come with a knobby tire? This wheel is too bloody expensive.
@@mr_wrongway I inline skate a lot in the city, and the difference between an 80mm and a 100mm wheel is insane, so going up to like 2 feet is ridiculous haha. When I have to ride an 80 it feels like being on jackhammer
Hi, I love your channel, I was thinking of buying my first wheel, I was thinking of the v12 ht as the main option, the city where I live has many hills and I like what I've read but I would like to take into account other options that you can advise me ,thank you so much
something I'd like to know: is there a way to mount hitches for a BOB trailer? or is there a specific EUC that we can? Ideally I'd like to get a Sherman-S or Max, but I usually I have to carry around 10-30kg for work, so that's the only thing that stops me from getting one.
v13 without suspension rides...... better than with suspension...... it means that older big wheels like monsterPro, Abrams, Monster still are real competition for newest biggest v13/masterPro - lighter, cheaper, more reliable and easier to ride. 🤩🤩🤩
I wish the roads & paths were better where I live, I now only ride a non-suspension wheel for short rides, for longer rides my Sherman S is so much better (I've put 1,700km on it so far). Riding a non-suspension wheel here is just so very jarring!
Congrats! It seems you finally got an Abrams that works. Shame it costs 3x as much as an Abrams. (Sorry you got a dud Abrams to begin with. Abrams is great with the new motor and firmware..)
As I hear your voice stammering over the small, sharp bumps on the pavement I appreciate my Sherman S even more. I fully understand the benefits of the lower pedals but could there possibly be a way lessen the travel and lower the pedals? Another words be able to still talk, not lose your fillings and speak while you're heading down a bumpy path?
@@mr_wrongway I’m still wondering if Master Pro is just my Monster Pro with a smaller tire, higher pedals and much more difficult to handle. I tried it 2 times on a quire street but I couldn’t figure out if that would be a worthy upgrade(I really need more range).
Just my opinion: Suspension is now a marketing gimmick. I doubt if there are a dozen riders in the world who bottom out 100 mm of suspension on a daily basis. I would like to see maybe one third of that travel. Why? I would like to be able to walk a straight line after dismounting. Without suspension, it doesn't take much of a ride before rubber legs sets in. There are better ways to get a foot massage. Reducing the stroke offers a way to make the suspension smaller and use different techniques. Optimizing for 100 mm precludes a number of otherwise useful mechanisms. Lets not be like the guy who bought a dump truck because he needed to haul a few loads of gravel for his long driveway, then when that weekend was over, he told his wife it was her new everything vehicle to take the kids to school and get groceries. He justified it because he spent one weekend annually hauling gravel for his driveway. Lets not get sucked in by macho advertising.
