I’m brand new to this. I literally stumbled on this EUC culture about a week to 10 days ago. You are definitely my favorite channel. I want one of these things so bad! It might take me about a year from now to get one, but I am totally addicted to watching you guys ride and explain all things EUC. This is so awesome!
Yeah same. I was going to get an e-bike then an e-scooter but now that I've hard about all the pros of an EUC so I've decided I'm going to get an Inmotion V11 in the next week or so
I got a V8s about a week ago & took a couple days off from practicing due to a couple falls resulting in a bruised and twisted leg. Don't pass on protective gear! Not sure how bad my falls would have been without it lol. Very fun, however, and expect to work muscles you never thought you had 😆. And, get a cover to protect ur wheel from the inevitable scratches. I also added duct tape on exposed areas that helps.
The v5f was perfect for me, I got one at the end of December 2021, I can ride about 2 miles w/o break as a 53 year old lady, and put about 100 miles on the wheel since then, wear your safety gear always! Also get the free cover if you order from EUCO it will save some scratches at the beginning, and yes all the various videos especially wrong Way, monocat and even Jonathan walley Wheel Life ate all very helpful also the EUCO beginners video. Take your time and don't be discouraged if it takes more than a day to learn. It's well worth it!
I bought my first EUC 1 week ago (RS19, ik, I'm crazy) thanks to this video I noticed the pedals where slightly tilted to the rear, I did the calibration to have the pedals like yours and it improved A LOT the steering (I had troubles making sharp turns at low speed) Thanks alot Adam, your the best
I find that carving helps with fatigue. Gets the blood flowing! Also, I tend to "tippy toe" and "heelstand" each foot up and down 15-20 times every few kilometers for the same reason. These techniques has made it possible for me to ride 50+ kilometers without a break.
1. Ride time, you need to ride as much as possible, this helps to build your muscles, 2. Get the largest pedals possible ideally that cover the full lenght of your feet, and adjust the angle of the pedals, NyloNove pedals are the best to my opinon because they are made from Polymid-6 because out of all its properties it is an insulator more so than metal pedals, cold feet lead to discomfort 3. Consider wearing minimal shoes with thin soles and no heel when riding, but also wearing these type of shoes full time, this will really build your foot muscles and begin to put your big toe into correct alignment (your big toe take a huge load when leaning forward or and moving). 4. wear toe socks this will allow your toes to move independantly. 5. foot care if you clean (lightly scrub feet and toes daily, pumice stone once a week) and moisturise your feet and inbetween your toes after showering every day this will increase you toe/feet flexiability, after a year of wearing barefoot shoes you will be able to ride for long periods and not once think of your feet or standing pain. 6. Work on ankle and calf flexiabillty this impacts leaning and breaking. The previous points my seem far fetched but I assure you if you are wearing conventional shoes you simply dont realise how under developed your feet and toe muscles are, also a shoe heel places you body out of alignment. Of course regardless of foot wear your muscles will develop, but barfoot shoes offers so many benefit if riding a Motor-Wheel.
Stretching your calves is helping your feet a lot more than moisturizing them. I had plantar fasciitis (basically a lot of inflammation in the foot from overuse) and calf stretching was the most important exercise to restore function and reduce foot pain
I've been riding on and off for over 8 years and this is a huge help with all the fine points and information here. Thanks Wrong Way! If you ever travel to the USA, I'd love to ride wheels together!
I got the same one, I'm 58 years old and on day seven! Today is my first day that I didn't crash! Practicing almost an hour and a half every day and my legs are not that bad. A few bruises but not too sore.
@@mr_wrongway I love your vids man. The music is always on point. What monowheel are you riding in the video and is there somewhere I can listen to the music in your videos?
Things I've learned to minimize pain: Higher tire pressure equals more pain in feet and knees Feet further forward lessen lower-body fatigue and foot pain drastically, but also make your wheel less stable and more likely to death wobble For slow accelerations, control the speed by leaning your shoulders, rather than your lower body. Wear shoes with less aggressive tread. The more flush the bottom, the easier on your feet. But you still want traction enough so you don't slip off your wheel. Keep your knees bent, especially when coming across bumps.
Man wish I would be half as comfy as you. You make it look so easy. I can ride now if the road is all fine (cracks scare me a bit lol) and I don't ride along with cars
Great tips Adam! I expect someone else mentioned this somewhere below, but just in case...when my feet get tired or are sore on a long ride I find that riding for even just 15 seconds or so first on my toes and then just on my heel gives a nice stretch, alleviates pressure, and still gives some contact with the wheel while you are cruising. Do this one foot at a time so that you always have full control with at least one of your feet.
33 years old and 9 years of riding EUC-s. I went through all the settings, pedal modifications, controller modifications, tires, leg pain, knee pain... and so on. Best comfort tip experienced through the years: 1. Pedal angle tilted forwards 1 degree (This is the best tip of all. More comfort, and more control on the wheel) 2. Pedal stiffness 90-80% (Big difference in longer rides) 3. Lower tire pressure for grip, and more bump absorption (not to low to protect the rim...) And for additional protection i ride with sneakers that have metal caps.
my EX-N came with a CST knobby and i thought i was gonna hate it since i do 85%/15% road/offroad riding, but i love it on the street and also the sound it makes.

Just had a chance to upgrade from 1500 km V5F to V10. I was too impatient to wait for power pads to arrive, and I rode for two days in agony. 3rd and forth day IM WONDERING WHETHER I NEED THE PADS AT ALL 🤣
My feet hate standing still. I actually wear my work safety shoes with special inlay soles because I have a standing job as well. But just like my sore ass on the bike when I have to do long straight drives, keep on moving and turning and I'm pain free. Oh and sore muscles you never used before are pretty much a one time thing.
WW, I got Shima SX-2 EVO motorcycle shoes to ride on my EUC. I'm curious what you think of those (I know you are a fan of Shima gear!). They are flatter bottom than the shoes I was wearing before, and they have excellent protection in the toes and ankles in the event of a crash. They're also stylish and quite comfortable when not riding, IMO.
The answer is simple. Do it everyday and each day it will get easier and easier. This is the same when it comes to a One Wheel. I had no clue the foot fatigue I would experience when riding.
your comment about tire pressure makes me think I should try a tubeless setup with a rim insert like the "Huck Norris" it should allow lower pressure with more rim protection. thoughts? wrong way?
I run my Gotway RS at 28psi, my Sherman and EX at 32psi and never got any rim damage and the tire use normally and not only in the center like if you put 40 to 45psi which is too high ruff on the knees and ankles also you got too much rebound and hard landing when you pass in pot hole or bad road !! With my old crash S18 i was riding at 25psi since the wheel was lighter. Here the comment i post ''you know the tire of a EUC come from a scooter, so riding at 40 to 45psi is too high for the weight 28 to 32psi is the best !! Do not follow the writing on the tire because this is not for EUC.'' Hope it help, but Adam is wrong about the tire pressure.
I had a lot of foot pain in the start then I put my wheel on commuting mode(v8f) and never have any pains now. xD It is so odd man, have tried running offroad on my commutes, way to stiff and get a little strain in the bottom of the feet. I have not experimented with tilt , will do the 1 forward some guys say is good. :)

I've never seen a single one in stock. Unless they're just sending them directly to you, I'm curious as to how you manage to get those for every wheel.

Looks like I use a working way to turn, but perhaps not the optimal way - in case of minor obstacles in my way, I turn with the inner leg in the turn, eg. 8:32. For continuous turning, like on a crossroad, i somehow use the outer leg, 8:45 style. Actually I'm not sure if the second give me more control or not, just realized the differences. Thank you!

The proper insoles for your shoes. Adidas basketball shoes didn't work for me. I use Asics. Some padding on the side, so the inner legs do not touch the hard plastic shell. Bent your knees to absorb impact.
Novice rider here, maybe 45km on my first kingsong s18, I've noticed moving my feet a little forward so I don't have to stand in my toes to maintain speed 😅
Regarding the powerpads, i am feeling like its harder to get up on the wheel since i need to lock my foot in to the powerpads (im using Red Trail Sai pads) and they are quite tight against the shoe, im guessing it comes down to practice, but it makes me feel unsecure on the wheel.
Remember your heels are directly impacting your spine !! Make sure that your toes are always ever so slightly higher, so that the front of your feet take the impact
Lately ive been lifting my right heel when i excelerate hard with my right toe. You wouldn't think it would be more stable on hard excelleration but it is.
When you say "longer ride", what does that mean to you? For example, would you consider 6km a longer ride or is "longer ride" subjective based on experience and endurance?
@@mr_wrongway Thank you 😊. Been looking at getting a euc for a little while but the wife said that I should get protection as well. I’ve been looking at the king song ks-16x for my first one.
HEY BUDDY! I been watching your channel for a while now and have a request that might be on the difficult side but would love to see you take the challenge. It would directly help me but sure it would help a lot of people..... SO..... AFTER SAFETY GEAR AND A BACKPACK WITH SUPPLIES IM ABOUT 260LBS... AND THERES NO REAL WORLD SPECS FOR SPEED RANGE AND HANDLING FOR THE HIGHER END UNICYCLES. COULD YOU TRY AND MAKE A VIDEO ON 1 OR 2 HIGH END UNICYCLES WITH ADDING ENOUGH WEIGHT ON THE SEAT OR IN A BACKPACK TO BRING YOUR TOTAL UP TO US BIG GUY WEIGHTS 250LBS PLUS? I KNOW IM ASKING A LOT BUT IT WOULD HELP SO MUCH. IM HAVING A HARD TIME SPENDING 4000 DOLLARS NOT KNOWING HOW MY WEIGHT WOULD EFFECT THESE THINGS. IM TIRED OF MY GIANT ELECTRIC SCOOTER AND WANT A SUPER UNICYCLE SO BAD... HOPE YOU EXCEPT THE CHALLENGE........ THANKS BUDDY!!!
Would you recommend monowheels when making walk-around videos? Most TH-cam city walks have a slight up and down motion in their footage because some creators don't edit to stabilize (obvious too even when using gimbals/anti-shake cameras). The idea is using a monowheel like a dolly, but I guess they need the speed and will probably fail at normal pedestrian speeds. Thoughts?
Very late response but onewheels are pretty good for this as they do well at very low speed. They're used quite a lot on the corridor crew channel to film various things.
You say you like your pedals tilted forward, for easier acceleration? My 2nd hand 16X was like that and I found it hard to accelerate, as I really have to lean forward a lot before the wheel even notices, so I was planning to tilt the pedals back a bit? *confused face
I tried making my own pads, but they didn't turn out to be very good. Power pads seem to be out of stock everywhere. The torque pads, like you prefer, are exactly what I've been looking for. Does anyone have any tips? Great video, Adam! ^_^
My 16x dosen't dip like that even in the softer modes. Just seems to take more pressure on the pedals to move it on soft. Soft and medium starts hurting my feet and ankles espically when i go off road.
After watching a couple videos about calibration i still dont quite understand how you know its out of sync. Its said When you turn one pedal goes up and the other goes down? Isnt that supposed to happen
I bought the begode master pro and im so frustrated i only get a few feet before i have to bail and it broke the light mount on the front. I practiced for about 2 hours its awful.
finished my first day of learning to ride. I'm not getting muscle soreness, my issue is my inner shin getting bruised from the side/top of the euc, owch.
I just got my ks 16x yesterday, my first wheel, the inner shin issue you mention, i have the same thing, pretty much impossible for me to progress... Earlier today i bought some football shin pads for the inside of my shins, totally made a huge difference no painful shins... 👍
I always ride my 16x in soft mode due to hard mode feeling to stiff. Maybe I should keep trying hard mode til I get comfortable? What are your thoughts. No pedal adjustment however I did install spiked footplates.
It depends on how you like to ride. Hard mode is stiffer and gets more direct acceleration. Especially cool with power pads and trying harder acceleration or inclines
It's just cause your new, I had the same issues, just keep riding, the pain just takes longer and longer to come. 300-500mi and you'll notice it takes a while before it hurts, 1k+mi it'll take forever before any pain
Anyone else get bad headaches day after riding?! I think from wearing a fairly light full face helmet with a slight forward lean for a couple hours seems to cause pain back of neck next day that turns into a massive headache. Trying to figure out a way to fix this while still being able to ride. anyone else get upper back neck pain and found a solution? A half helmet id be fine in, but i value my teeth LOL.
After a few meters on my 1 wheel, the day after my knees are dead. I have no idea why my 2 knees sore, do you have the same pain as me ? Only my knees.
I had to get rid of the stock grip tape pedals on my V11 immediately. I couldn't even practice one foot gliding as my foot would slide sideways off the pedal when I added knee/shin pressure to stabilize the wheel. I'm a big guy 6'2". 230# geared up. I thought I was just doing something wrong. It seemed the physics just wouldn't work for me. If I tried to lift a foot the lateral torque transfered to the other foot would just scrape it off the pedal sideways. Free mounting without anything around was very difficult, and wobbly. I bought a set of the spiked honeycomb pedals from inmotion and suddenly everything just worked. My foot stayed planted and I could feel and control the wheel. The second time I practiced free mounting I took off like normal, no issues, very little wobbling to gain control. The wheel didn't feel like it was wiggling out from under my foot anymore, and I was having to chase it down to control it. I've seen regular sized guys do just fine with grip tape. But it seems it just doesn't have enough grip to hold a 6'2" lever multiplied by 230# of lateral force. For some its an upgrade, but for me it was a necessity to ride the thing. I went from struggling to carefree cruising in a single afternoon.

When you say "longer ride", what does that mean to you? For example, would you consider 6km a longer ride or is "longer ride" subjective based on experience and endurance?
What kind of shirt/chest protection are you using in the video?
It’s an Alpinestars Bionic Armor :)
Yesterday died Clive Sinclair inventor of ZX Spectrum. Maybe You can test his PEV Sinclair C5 from 1985.
How about getting a 2 wheel'd vehicle with a seat like a normal person?
Where can you buy the white shell you are using on your monster Pro?
@mono_customize on instagram
My 16x dosen't dip like that even in the softer modes. Just seems to take more pressure on the pedals to move it on soft. Soft and medium starts hurting my feet and ankles espically when i go off road.
TIP: when seated riding i find it a lot more comfortable to put my heels of the foot on the front of the pedals eliviating a lot of pressure
how much for it
After watching a couple videos about calibration i still dont quite understand how you know its out of sync. Its said When you turn one pedal goes up and the other goes down? Isnt that supposed to happen
Yay!
I bought the begode master pro and im so frustrated i only get a few feet before i have to bail and it broke the light mount on the front. I practiced for about 2 hours its awful.
The outside sides of my ankles seem to hurt the most 😬
Anyone know of any e wheel rides in Houston or Austin I ride alone and it gets boring
finished my first day of learning to ride.
Tiger Woods logo ?
What model is your EUC ? I couldn't recognize it...
Begode Monster Pro

I always ride my 16x in soft mode due to hard mode feeling to stiff. Maybe I should keep trying hard mode til I get comfortable? What are your thoughts. No pedal adjustment however I did install spiked footplates.
It depends on how you like to ride. Hard mode is stiffer and gets more direct acceleration. Especially cool with power pads and trying harder acceleration or inclines
My 16x is almost always on hard mode. I don't have to push so hard on the pedals. Off road hard mode is a.nessesity to.me
One week into riding, lower legs and feet not used to it. Still very uncomfortable for my feet after 20 mins, almost cramping.
Same. Knee braces helped but am about to move to suspension EUC
maybe you are using some of your muscles for the very first time and your body protests.
Perhaps some (regular!) stretching could help you?
Could you explain how grip tape can cause foot fatigue? I'm a bit confused about that point.
I would guess having your feet feeling locked in relaxes your foot muscles instead of actively trying to grip or put pressure on the pedals.
@@flashyflash7152 Hmm, I guess if we stand relaxed on the pedals already then we wouldn't get this fatigue.
