Can you please check scale factor given for RSA? Since the referred post is in 2012 and ETABS 17 version onwards we are already giving values of I and R.
Sir, Nice job. What if Dynamic Shear using scale factor as 'g" as modified in ETABS 2017 software, is higher than the static quake (using scale 1)? Do you still reduce the dynamic base shear making both static and dynamic equal? This is really the case in here?

Sir, I have few doubts ...
1. As the base shear value calculated by Response spectrum analysis is less than the value calculated using static method.
Then why do we have to go for response spectrum analysis ?
Because less value means , not in safer side..
I mean what is the advantage of Analysis the building using Response spectrum analysis compared to static method ?
2. As you have mentioned the story drifts is within the limits , where is the limit value of story drift available ?

SCAL FACTOR TAKEN WHILE DEFINING RESPONCE SPECTRUM IS IG/2R BUT THAT WAS FOR PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF ETABS....YOU CAN SEE IN CSI WEBSITE WHICH YOU ARE SHOWING THEY HAVE REPLIED IN THE YEAR 2012....BUT NOW IN THE LATEST CODES WE CAN DIRECTLY ENTER THE SCALE FACTOR VALUE AS g = 9810
Please provide the link where it says now its not required.. it will be helpful for all. And i will make a video for correcting as per new version updates.

Just go to search in google and youtube. it is in many places. New Etabs, just g is the scale factor.
@@moonboyslife while defining spectrum case we have already added I value And R value....which was not in previous version of ETABS

First we should compare the scale factor with linear static and provide according to it you are directly considering it how is it possible?

Why RS in IS CODE Always start with 1 at T= 0 sec, if u will understand this, then u will understand that why sc is g
Sir what about z direction?
In Z-direction you have to take Sa/g value from code and make a constant line of response function while defining the function for Z - direction.

@@nabajyotisarkar2228 I think even in 16 version new code is available for selection. So yes.
@@moonboyslife If I selected 2002 and define all as per 2016 is it acceptable ? Bcz I don't have 2002 in etab 16
@@nabajyotisarkar2228 you can change and update the data before design. Anyways analysis values won't change.
