What a lovely and fresh way to deliver God’s message. I love your channel and listen to your videos over and over and yet I know it’s all up to Him, not us. Little by little He’s working through you. Blessings
The Gospel today reminded us in the family of our commitment to consistently give to the church, the poor, and other communities who needed help... So happy to come across your channel Fr. Columba, a fresh take on sharing the Good news centered towards our faith! I just subscribed, and I hope a lot more people will hear your sharing and be blessed. Thanks be to God! God bless! One prophet l used to follow said that Catholic countries are among the poorest countries and he cited the fact that they don't tithe as one of the possible reasons. He said evangelical countries are a lot richer.
Hi Ralynne, great question. You can certainly do either. It’s hard to know what an individual will do with money they’re handed so you could always give that money to a homelessness charity, or as you say use it to buy food and water. But if you feel you can trust an individual to use money well it’s certainly an option to hand it to them directly. I suppose it takes a bit of discretion. I hope that can help. Katie
I used to work in an office in Dublin City centre about 20 years ago and there was a small group of homeless men who I got to know as they frequented a certain doorway. I used to chat with them a bit on my lunch break and I would ask if there was anything I could get them in the shop like tea /sandwich. One of the men asked for a can of alcohol once but because I had got comfortable with them and them with me he quickly retracted his request as I had explained that I didn't drink alcolol and felt uncomfortable buying it. More often they'd say they didn't need anything at all and advised me to save my money for my own home one day. I say this story because homeless people are still people, they were once someone's little baby, they could be someone's parent, brother, sister, grandparent but sadly they have fallen on hard times, I think a little social interaction can help a bit and sure a little sandwich and cup of tea is very manageable for most.
Absolutely. That social interaction can really make someone's day and remind them of their worth as a human. And a cup of tea on a cold day goes a long way!
Hi there. I usually don't like to help people from the streets for different reasons, but, you don't need to go further. Sometimes, there are people in your own family or neighbours that are in need. Well, at least in Latin America, we can see that reality in our closest ones.
If you don't mind me asking, why the name Columba for a name? Usually, you get a new name when entering the religious life, but I am not familiar with this name.
Hi @K J thank you so much for your question. Father doesn’t manage this account and he’s currently on retreat, but we can ask him to consider dropping an explanation of his name into one of this videos. Thank you for your interest!
Greetings from Kenya. How about giving my 10% to the poor instead of the church. Is it robbing God? Didnt God say, "whatsoever u do to the least of ur Brother u do it unto me?"
Hi Mo Mo, great question! I don’t think there’s anything strict on where the 10% tithing needs to go - so long as it’s a good cause. Lots of Catholic parishes recommend giving 5% of income to Church and 5% to the poor and other charities.

Praise God! Thank you so much for the encouragement, Mayela 😊🙏
I love it when you make me laugh at the end. Bless you Father!
Thanks a lot for your explanation. United in prayer. Our Lord bless you and your brothers and sisters. Greetings from Madrid, Spain. Amen.
Thank you, Igancio. God bless you, too!
All so good for LENT. LOVE IT ALL FATHER

Thank you.
Can I give money directly to the homeless person on the street? Or use the money to make food, or buy water to give to homeless people?

Hello. Is there a way to tithe into this ministry?
There is indeed, thank you so much for asking. Here is the donation form on our website: www.calledtomore.org/donate
