Rub the metal strip over the area you are putting the glue and then exactly how you showed, don't forget to add chalk to stop any glue sticking to the inside of the tyre. We'll done Mark. I have a video that shows you how to do this without tools. I never check out of the tyre, best get it in ASAP so the air pressure keeps the patch on. Definitely inflatable on any allotment or growing spaces. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Good advice Terry! Sadly no chalk but it dried overnight so all good! Yes I remember your tyre video, in fact it inspired me! Thanks for the encouragement my friend! Very much appreciated! All the best
@Terry King's Allotment Gardening On A Budget actually Terry you have 2 videos on the subject. Episode 28, 2015, and another last August, lol !! Great job, Mark!! I think I could do this now.... with Colleen's help ;) Cheers gentlemen
@@clivesconundrumgarden I found another Wheelbarrow yesterday, are you following me.....lol only used once and tyre blew off the rim, was put out for scrap.
Ahhh...brought back childhood memories. Between my brother and me, seemed we fixed our bike tires couple times a month. Tip: Back in the day, after applying the rubber cement, we would light the glue on fire for about 5 seconds, blow it out and quickly apply the patch. The heat really made that sucker stick on real good...
Reminded me of when I was a kid trying to mend my bike, usually I had to get my Dad to do it when I failed, nice memories, many thanks for sharing kind regards alan………………THE DAWN CHORUS PLOT 🌿
Thanks Alan, yes that’s exactly when I last repaired a puncture, when I was about 9! Ha, glad it brought back some good memories for you too! All the best
Good To See You Mark, I have missed you, neat repair for your wheelbarrow, Hope you are getting on well with your Allotment, have a wonderful week, Wendy
You too Wendy! There’s still so much to do on the allotment plot. In my second year now and still working on clearing the rubbish left by others! More videos to come soon. Take care
Looks good Mark! I think as long as the glue is tacky you should be able to keep that patch on no issues. And now you have all the tools should you need to do any tube again 😊 Thank care my friend! Andrew
