    What an epic day! I personally haven't had a day like that in over 10 years. Hope to see you fish there again! I was going to get a 2500 Nasci but after seeing you fish with the Miravel, I think I may get that instead. What rod were you using? I'll most likely get a St. Croix. I have 2 I use for light tackle fishing. A 6'9" Ultra light / fast action and a 7' Light / ultra fast action. Both are great casting and I love how they handle the fish after hooked. Blessings! Have a great Christmas!!!

    Hey John love the work and the videos man and I can tell you are very experienced when it comes to fishing and im relatively new so here’s my question for you. In pressured ponds during the winter what lures or strategies do I use to catch bass?

    • @CreekFishingAdventures
      @CreekFishingAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i dont know that much, i use yum dingers a lot and fish them slow, or use a worm bait and drag it across the bottom

      @@CreekFishingAdventures thank you so much I’ll be sure to give it a shot god bless

    • @michaelgregory7457
      @michaelgregory7457 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mjw1615 if a body of water is pressured you need to show the fish something they don’t see often. Winter time provides its own set of challenges related to where the fish will be, how they stage themselves, and what their feeding habits are. Tactical bassin has a lot of invaluable content regarding fish habits throughout the seasons.

    • @mike2687
      @mike2687 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mjw1615 I fish a pond (35 acres) that gets pressured quite well... it's funny how fish will act when things cool down because my favorite approach is with something moving just to find out how they're acting. My go to used to be either a 1/4 or 1/2 oz rattle trap but they seemed to get used to it over the years so I switched to a Bass Pro Lazer Blade... basically, it's a non rattling metal lipless crank bait. This gives the fish something different then what they are used to. I have no idea why bass hit these baits when it's cold but they do. When they don't want the moving bait, I go to the Ned and it slays them. I like the Zman Finesse TRD and I need it to be weedless with so much wood in this pond so I go with a 1/16oz Hyabusa Ned Jighead and it crushes them. Sometimes I go in the opposite direction and go with the 12" Jelly Worm.
      The point Michael Gregory was making is correct--do something different. This can mean going small and using downsized finesse lures or overly large with big worms and swimbaits and Alabama Rigs. Basically, if the guys fishing your pond are throwing suspending jerkbaits and jigs... then you throw lipless crank baits and Ned rigs. If they're throwing Neds and Lipless, you throw tiny Jigs and Bladed lipless baits. Change the size, style, color or anything different.
      He's also right about the patterns... doesn't do any good if your'e throwing the lures where the fish aren't... the pond I fish is pretty shallow with 12' being about the max with half the pond being 6' or less... understanding where those fish want to be--usually deeper the colder it gets--will be key.

    I enjoy all your videos but I predict this one will get more views than normal. I've went fishing with a guide twice; one time worked out well, other time not so much because of the weather (and we'd drive quite a ways so we really couldn't change plans at that point). Paying a guide - I call it luxurious fishing - but it truly is a treat.

    Dropping large shiners around cover got me 2 "Angler of the Month" pins down here in southeastern Virginia years back. And at 66 years old, I've had plenty of "catching lots of fish"! I would be tickled to spend all day to catch ONE Bass over 5 pounds! And if I EVER get my truck finished so I can get my boat back in the water again (I'm renovating it!) then I will be happily watching my bobber for that fat Bass on my line! Ain't much in life better than watching a 6-7 pounder standing on his tail trying to shake the hook!
