One of my favorite fishing memories is when I was casting from the bank at dusk and there was a solitary man fishing from his boat on the lake. I heard splashing and it was just barely light enough to see the monster muskie he had pulled in. He let out laughter and a "woo hoo" that was some of the purest human joy I have ever heard. I was so happy for that guy. I still am.

Sorry this is old but he might be listening to the playlist “TYA” on Spotify, at the very least it has a lot of the music in the background of these videos.
This was my favourite build to date, that's a gorgeous bait. By the way, additional fun muskie fact - In Muskie systems where Pike are introduced, musky recruitment significantly drops. Pike spawn about 2 weeks earlier and in similar habitats, so what happens is all the juvenile pike will predate the juvenile muskies.
I had a musky attack a large mouth that I was catching. Didn’t get to see how big the musky was but it bit most of the tail off the bass. The bass was 20” long.

Dang! I hope she’s okay in the end. But if that happened anywhere here in the U.S. our fish and wildlife officials would start a war with all Musky and eradicate them from those waters. Hopefully Ontario didn’t do that.

Actually my grandfather's friend was swimming in Caesars Creek, Ohio and he had a diamond ring on his pinky Next thing he knows his friend was screaming and missing a pinky turns out that a muskie came up and attacked his hand because his finger looked like an injured Bait fish flashing. I made grip scales for a little pistol from watching your videos. I used like 6mm thick maple. I don't know if they'll be super durable due to how thin they are, but they're gorgeous! I did bust out a chisel for a time, but I largely used techniques that you use to shape and contour the grips. The bottoms are nicely squared off but still rounded in a way. Then they taper at the top to about 2mm thick and they just fit the hand better thaneven the stock plastic panels. I carved a step into the top to fit around the frame. I'd send a picture but you can't message on TH-cam anymore...
Musky are great fun to catch! Two fish stories, my grandfather caught a 58 inch Musky in Wisconsin decades ago and it hung in a bar on the lake for nearly 30 years, beautiful fish. On that same lake, my sister caught a small Northern and while reeling it in a Musky took a chuck out of it. We have a picture of a 16 ish inch northern with a chunk missing on it's underbelly, they are very much predators in the water.
