- Here we are at the Tn BASS State Kayak Tournament on Chickamauga Lake. 2 days of tough fishing against 107 of the top anglers in the state of Tennessee.
Most of the fish were caught on my favorite @YUMBAITS 4 in dinger, bubblegum yellow swirl. I kayaked in the Old Town PDL 120 Kayak.

You are busy catching fish with your spinning reel while others are busy clearing up the bird nests with their baitcasters. I use both myself, but never have any issues with my spinning reel and love the reliability which is essential for time sensitive situations like fishing tournament's.
This gentleman keeps the faith in fishing and the Father. 💯

I’m in the same boat. Just did my first tournament a couple months ago and it was a blast. In speaking with a guy who had won AOY he keeps its simple just like us so that was comforting to hear. If a guy landing 90” (+)days only uses soft plastics 90% of the time I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for us

Hey BRO! You did Good. Don't give up. You still post the most amazing places that I have never scene. It's not all fishing. The places you go and the posts that you share are worth all of it. I'm an old washed-up caver. I have seen things that most people will never see. TN is one of the beast places to enjoy Gods great work. I lived there and now reside in north AL. Great job John. Don't worry so much about spooking the fish so much unless you're sighted. I have a paddle fishing kayak with a Lowrance Hook 5 flasher and man the screen lights up with fish after a boat or jet ski passes by.

I know it was kind of nerve racking there towards the end, but you stayed persistent and it paid off.

6th place out of over 100 kyaker's was not a bad finish.
Really wish that 20" would have come out. That would have been exciting, but a 17" is not a bad fish.
I had a day like that recently, but stayed persistent and wound up with a 22" smallie that was almost 4lbs.
My last cast of the day was a 6.5lb large mouth.
I have used quite a few of your tips and have improved my catch ratio and quality ratio 10 fold.

I've been watching your videos pretty much all morning, then this video pops up, a great tournament finish, I've committed before on this that the more time spent on the water the better you'll become, creeks & rivers fish differently than lakes & I guess you know that by now, I watch mainly bass fishing videos on TH-cam 75% of the time, don't know everything but I'm learning, but 1 thing that I've learned with these tournament guys if they are fishing more than 1 day is get all they can on the 1st day continuing to upgrade cause you never know what the next holds! It's great to win some extra money for all that hard work plus it makes for a great video!

Great finish and tournament showing overall brother. I've spent a little more time around bass tournament anglers and I can tell you any one of them would take that limit on a tough day.
