- Our Sri Lanka adventure continues today, waking up at 2:30am to hop on the famous train ride from Kandy to Ella in "Observation Class". After 11 hours of views upon views, we finally arrived in Ella and checked in to Chill Cafe for one of the best lunches we have had on our travels.

This is the Mix train which leaves kandy by 3.30am, it takes a long time to Badulla, since it has to stop at every station and it's a goods train with passengers allowed.
Good for photographers since it has long stops at stations

I highly recommend you guys to have a bus ride. Long distance bus rides are quite insane. You can get the experience of an on-road roller coaster.

Fun fact, curry is not made to eat alone. You have to mix with rice and eat. If you eat curries alone, they have too much flavor. Because it’s meant to mix with rice.

1st class train is different imo. It has A/C and more comfortable seats. Check out Ella Odyssey train. These observation saloons needs an upgrade
