Here is a brief description of the Mayan coffee at the resort:
Mayan coffee is typically made with Mexican coffee, which is strong and flavorful, and is often infused with spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. The coffee is then mixed with a local liqueur, usually Xtabentun, which is made from anise seed and honey. The mixture is then ignited and the flames caramelize the sugar, creating a sweet, rich flavor.
At the Barcelo Maya Palace, Mayan coffee is typically served as an after-dinner drink in the lobby bar or at one of the resort's specialty restaurants. The coffee is prepared tableside by a skilled bartender or server, who will light the coffee on fire to create a dramatic presentation. The drink is then served in a small, decorative glass, often garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a twist of orange peel.
Overall, Mayan coffee is a delicious and unique coffee-based drink that is perfect for enjoying after a meal or as a special treat during your stay at the Barcelo Maya Palace resort.

Great artistry put into making this specialty coffee. Had a chance to drink this coffee upon my trips to Mexico.

I agree, the Rodizio was a lot better than Brasserie (the French restaurant next door). Rodizio service was friendly and natural while the Brasserie was too serious and robotic. Our Brasserie food looked and tasted like pre-prep microwaved food. Rodizio is real food, cooked in real time, delicious!

I agree ! It's definately our favorite restaurant there. My favorite dessert is the Canaloni. I always order a double order. One tip is you can order it at other restaurants there, you just have to ask 😉
