Barcelo has a Premium Service that includes Room Service, so probably not a part of regular service. It wasn't when we were there, but we didn't choose the Premium Service. I suggest you look into it and see if it is a value for you, for I guarantee they will try and sell it to you when you arrive.
Watch it as Mexico has very high covid cases and have moved to 2nd highest level . Almost to shutdown. Check before you book. Been to this resort many times and love it....
I think you will find that now they have a good handle on the virus with hotels offering masks, testing and spray bottles for guests. Some require masks in public indoor areas and before you eat in restaurants. At Puerto Penasco the resorts required no masks at all.
Every all-inclusive resort we have been to always as pool activities for both kids and adults. Water aerobics, volleyball, etc. The large pool for Maya Palace is just across the walkway beside the beach and this pool has a nice swim-up bar. None on the beach. One of the only drawbacks of this resort is that there is no food served at the beach or the pool. You have to go to the restaurants located a short walk away on a small bluff overlooking the rocky beach, but this is a more formal buffet or restaurant setting and not the quick nachos or chips and guacamole snacks that are nice to have on the beach or near the pool. Maybe they will change that someday?
Absolutely! Just returned from "Arizona's beach" at Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) Mexico. Just a one hour drive south of Arizona to this beautiful beach on the Sea of Cortez, also called the Gulf of California and Vermillion Sea, across from Baja, Mexico. We will have a new video of a beautiful resort called Maya Palace up soon.
Great! Be sure and reserve the palapas at the adult pool for what was an incredibly low cost for the entire day. Right off the beach at Maya Palace was fantastic for seeing turtles swimming on top of and beneath the water. Definitely a snorkeling area. For a more sandy swim beach, walk down the beach aways to the other resorts. Our favorite restaurant was the Brasserie French restaurant, although the Rodizio with Brazilian style meats was also amazing. The only thing we didn't mention was to be careful if you book a tour of a cenote. We did one and it wasn't very good, so do your research and look at photos to see what fits best for you. Have a wonderful time!

Yes, some tours can be great, but there are some spectacular cenotes that might mean its best to take a taxi or drive there yourself. Glad everything is opening up again. Are you going to the new adults only resort or back to one of the others? Enjoy your trip!
All the hotel complexes are right beside one another. There is a nice walk along the beach boardwalk and you can easily reach the other hotels in 10 minutes. to 20 minutes to reach the end. Next to the Maya Palace is the Colonial, Tropical and Caribe, all an easy walk along the beach
This is a great way to overcome your fear! They lounge around the pool area and each seems to have their own territory. You can walk right by them and they ignore you. No problem!

Hello, we were there in fall of 2019. In the buffet there was an area just for kids and it looked great.

How deep are the pools? I'm not much of a swimmer aka cant swim so just wondered if I could walk up to bar in water? Thanks !!
Hello, deepest is 4-5 feet if I can remember correctly. You can definitely walk in the pool to the swim up bar if you are over 5'-6".

We will b there May 21st for 16 days and it’s our 9th time there. Walk out the entrance go left and go to a bunch of cenote.
