Although I do believe that artists loose beauty in virtuosity sometimes, I don’t think this is one of those places. Complete control, thoughtful musicianship, shaping, etc. are not lost in the speed. Not orthodox but completely convincing!
Este guitarrista tiene bastante destreza, sin embargo no sabe llevar el ritmo de la "jota". A veces abusa de un rasgueo destemplado que no corresponde ni cuadra con una "jota". A veces se acelera demasiado y otras se retarda mucho. En un pasaje en vez de hacer ritmo de "jota" hizo una "marcha". En resumen, debe mejorar mucho.

Hildebrando Ponsi: Si yo fuera bailarín, cantante, baterista, etc., me daría cuenta que esta "jota" no tiene estabilidad, no se puede llevar, ni bailar, ni acompañar, es demasiado caprichosa. Conozco, los escucho, a todos los guitarristas clásicos, hombres y mujeres, desde Sainz de la Maza, Segovia, etc., españoles, ingleses, franceses, australianos, griegos, croatas, sudamericanos, hasta los jóvenes actuales. Los guitarristas son muy leales, pues nunca se critican entre ellos, salvo excepciones. Pero un mortal como yo sí puede criticar. En mi comentario anterior debo corregir algo: donde dice "debe mejorar mucho", debe decir "debe mejorar mucho esta "jota"". Muchas gracias.
Emmanuel posee una de las técnicas de guitarra clásica más depuradas que he visto. Excelente y prodigiosa interpretación. Él es un verdadero virtuoso de la guitarra clásica!
I heard his interpretation of the Aranjuez Conciero to-day. His guitar seemed to be very powerful with a bit of a harsh tone…I wondered what guitar it was, thought of possibly a lattice braced guitar, or maybe a double topped one in that piece (and probably different from the one here). Iam very interested in this aspect of the instrument : anyone knows more about it ? Thanks...
Impressive setting; undoubtedly fine playing - with a Spanish touch. But I confess to finding the music a wee bit "light". I shall listen to Loch Lomond.
+Richard Beardsley I think he bashed the hell out of it. Cut parts out, shoved heaps of extra ornamentation in, and pulled the timing in all sorts of weird directions. Not sure if Tarrega would have approved. Plus frank mistakes and deviations from the score. Definitely for those who don't actually play the piece.
Este hombre no tienen musicalidad en si interpretacion , se excede en la velocidad para demostrar virtuosismo y lo unico que lograr es romper la obra en distintas partes , si vs a tocar clsoco toca clasico si queres tocar flamenco toca flemenco pero si te quedas en el medio no sos no flamenco ni clasico

Bogdan Gogosoiu I agree with you.I just wanna add one more: his tempo. It is not recommended to play a piece on too irregular speed. I mean of course performers can use the tempo for the expressions, but using them too much sounds weird.
Disagree. This by far my favorite interpretation in no small part due to how much Liberty he takes with the speed and rythym. It looks like so much fun
