Carlos
i'm sure F.Tarrega(wherever he might be) is smiling...this's the way he wants gran jota to be performed. bravo li jie and thanks PAYPALPAK for posting!
My heart.. I can feel it... Feels like so much love. This might sound cheesy but I really do feel so much love gushing out of me. I don't want this music to stop.
A parade of fireworks.Almost everything is here:glissando, pizzicato, harmonics, tambourine, drums, tremolo, etc.Cheerful, holiday dancing music (jota is a spanish dance). At the end that subtle Monalisa-like smile. And all this beautuful sounds from beautiful girl,a beatiful skirt, beautiful jacket and shirt. And beautiful guitar (Am I faling in love? Yes)
my lady you are absolutely amazing i just wish i had half of your skill. i'm a classical guitar player myself so tottaly appreciate it..A proud Kurdish girl. ,
this is probably my favorite version of gran jota largely due to the pacing. Some of the others feel rushed, but this just has a lovely pace that plays directly to the musicality of the piece. delightful!
Holy Smoke! What planet did she drop out from? I've wasted 45 years studying and performing on the classical guitar only to be blown away by a 15 year old kid. What a player!!!
I don't think there is a clip of Li Jie where I haven't had to re-assemble my jaw at the end of it. I love Tarrega and this version is second to none. Beautiful piece! Wouldn't mind seeing her play 'Estudio Brillante'. It would put the nail in my guitar playing coffin lol (joke - she's an inspiration!)
Added another video to my channel, and this time, it's about real crime documentaries. I think it's an intriguing and detailed piece. After watching, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
different guitar touch than su meng, but also talented and really brillant. wish to see her in morocco but i can dream... i'd also like to see her performing with and only with meng; that would be...astonishing...
I really appreciate female guitarist. They can perform as great as men can. Her hand size is small, but she can play it well though. Really impressed. =)
@jgilp no in an documentary about her on a chinese tv channel she said that her parents were not down with the fact that she played guitar and that she struggled for her dream.
Actually, you´re right there. The piece is very poultry-like and certainly recalls the farmyard of Chicken, I mean, Green Acres. Notice also how the piece imitates clucking, pecking, cawing, cackling and other poultry sounds. There is even a cockadoodle do in it. Yes, this piece could be called the "Leghorn Variations"
@doubleKlutch sadly the truth is most pieces will take some study into the piece, not neccessarily in the musicality of it though, but the life of the composer who wrote it or even at the time he wrote the piece or the reason he wrote the piece, these are what the common audiences need the most. while for musicians, perhaps more specific technical things can be related to stories, and the use of different frequencies can also contribute. They are parts of human psyche.
The main "Jota" theme at 1:55 is a kind of circular hen or chicken dance, complete with flapping of the wings. Close your eyes, listen, and I´m sure you will agree. I don´t know what the cluck is going on around here. But, what the peck, let´s listen, she´s a great player.
Close your eyes, don't let the appearance fools you :) Do we Asian people look like we don't have any feeling? Or just because we don't have blond hair or blue eyes? I'm not Chinese, I don't speak Chinese, and I don't really like Chinese people, but I really love this guitarist and her "boring" style :) Li Jie, you rock!
@SoullessOpeth I have listened to this song well in excess of 50 times and I usually just sit and absorb. I have NO idea what you are talking about with 'scratching sound' on the bass strings. She misses a small number of her pinch harmonics, but I can't find a damn thing wrong with it anywhere else. You must be dreaming.
Im learning this by myself! it’s been few months now just reached that measure I was speechless again hence I watched the video million times to learn the right hand techniques I couldn’t believe my eyes I wish there was a tutorial video on TH-cam of this piece I’m struggling with tabs only but it’s such a rewarding project
Vuelvo a felicitarla.
Felicitaciones a Li Jie nuevamente.
Muchas gracias.
WOOOW!!! never seen that(strings crossed snare) sound before.. i just hope nobodys standing with a gun pointed at her and says plaai, or u dai.. our country need much cash!!
@vampierkill It seems good to me only if the musician has chosen this way freely (and it seems she was). Not if the child is bound to study. I'm sure there are parents like this.
@jgilp Yes lots of musicians chose to play an instrument but they do have to be comitted to practice it nearly all day long. You can't expect "Genius" in this real world who can just pick up and play without the work, it's only in fantasy stories. I'll give you an example if you can't understand, if you want to pursue in research in astronomy, you have to work for it extremely hard, compete with others, and have barely any free time. Same thing...
I Love her composure: harmonious and serene as her music. Xiéxie ni, Li Jie, for this fragment of your beautiful soul. :)
Gracias.
Nothing can describe my words of joy as to see talent being played at such level.
I stand in awe at the performance.
Bravo.

Well, that just about covers every technique I have ever seen, and a few I have never seen before.
Absolutely amazing.

I am amazed every time I listen to this. I wish we could listen to her play something recently. She is wonderful.
So lovely and talented. I hope her life will be filled with joy.

I have no words, only a big ass smile on my face.

dude for real that was BADASS, i love the snare effect!
Holy Smoke! What planet did she drop out from? I've wasted 45 years studying and performing on the classical guitar only to be blown away by a 15 year old kid. What a player!!!

2.14 awesome fun trying to play that by ear. what a riff!
at 09.35 she begins to play guitar and drums, fantastic player and a fantastic piece.
INSPIRACION Y BELLEZA INTERIOR
1.46 awesome fun trying to play that by ear. what a riff!

MARAVILLOSO!!!

Glad you liked the joke! And she is a splendid musician, isn´t she? Of course the piece is quite a chuckle!
I really appreciate female guitarist. They can perform as great as men can. Her hand size is small, but she can play it well though. Really impressed. =)

Cool snare drum effect and melody at 9:40!
+machguitar9 Yes, an amazing effect I don't believe I've ever seen before.
I second your motion

perfectly expressed..........

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
INCREDIBLE
WOWWWWWWWWW
OOO
Who is the luthier of her guitar? This is a fine instrument.
You must be dreaming.
this is insane!
@zvonko57 It is in fact a demonstration video for students.
i don't see your right hand plucking when you're playing the harmonics in 5:53 do you pluck with your left hand? amazing!
Im learning this by myself! it’s been few months now just reached that measure I was speechless again hence I watched the video million times to learn the right hand techniques I couldn’t believe my eyes I wish there was a tutorial video on TH-cam of this piece I’m struggling with tabs only but it’s such a rewarding project

me gustaria ver tu version. I play a little, but I am light years away from playing like her.
Vuelvo a felicitarla.

single handed harmonics are the bomb at 5:48
Great guitarist and cute as well! niace~
she make it look so easy..
WOOOW!!! never seen that(strings crossed snare) sound before.. i just hope nobodys standing with a gun pointed at her and says plaai, or u dai.. our country need much cash!!
@vampierkill
where is your childhood now? Do you have clear memory?
I think anything is equally good
I suspect that Li Jie was older than fifteen in this clip, as she was born in 1981?
This video should be made obligatory for guitar students, to learn guitar tehnique! Perfectly "clean" interpretation.
What is the name of the Russian luthier?
@789vbc It was Tarrega who incorporated all these techniques, not her.
Nice.
Wahliao... i really hope she can become my guitar teacher...
really good poker music actually lol. no but honestly she is incredibly good ive been playing ten years and im not even a patch on her skill level.
@vampierkill It seems good to me only if the musician has chosen this way freely (and it seems she was). Not if the child is bound to study. I'm sure there are parents like this.
@789vbc Lol, everyone is amazed with the snare drum effect, but heck! so am I =)
Hey chinese friends out here, does someone of you know where she is now or what she does?
she works as a teacher at the Central Conservatory of Music
@jgilp Yes lots of musicians chose to play an instrument but they do have to be comitted to practice it nearly all day long. You can't expect "Genius" in this real world who can just pick up and play without the work, it's only in fantasy stories. @dondorward2010 Well it's not how good he played it its the fact he composed it I think most people see the significance in that.
oh my GOD
