Thank you for sharing this. I had my own craft room for years (empty nester). Five years ago, I took custody of 4 of my grandchildren. Two of the boys took over the guest room and I made a twin bed at the foot of my bed for the youngest. My craft room was turned back into a bedroom for my granddaughter. So…major downsizing in a very short period of time. All scrapbook supplies moved to my bedroom where it still remains. The problem is my bedroom also becomes the dumping ground for everything that doesn’t have a home. Seeing what you have done with your space has inspired me to rethink my space.i NEED to move out the many albums that have made their way into my room. That will free up space to put scrapbook supplies. Once again, thank you for the inspiration. Let the transition begin!
I’m so glad it was helpful, Lynne! It’s wonderful that you were able to take in your grandkids, so many children out there become estranged from family when a parent loses custody or cannot provide for them. That connection is so important! A drastic change is such a hard adjustment, but this was 100% worth it. Not only because of the move, I have less time for scrapping and it makes sense to devote less space to it as well. This was incredibly cathartic too.
What a great space and wonderful ideas Laura!! Thanks so much. I will save this one for sure as within the next couple of years, I will be downsizing and moving (as I hit the 70 mark LOL) and this is just a perfect set up xo
Thank you, Moira! I think so too! Downsizing was tough, but 100% worth it. I love my new space, being accessible and right in the middle of the kids' activities is much better for all of us.
Wow, you have been able to organize everything so well that you would not think you have all of collections and bits and bobs available and easy reach. Great job! I love it! You gave some great ideas for my organization. Best wishes!
HEY There Laura Thanks so much for a tour of your new craftroom and I must say you sure did one heck of a job…..everything fits nicely and your different Ideas of furniture are a pool and awesonpme and absolutely have a place for everything and it looks Magnificent and can tell you’re enjoying it and you sure gifted us a Great helping of organizing inspiration……TFS this was so much fun!!!!!
Thank you, Joan! Downsizing was tough, but so necessary. I'm much happier with this space and scrapping in it is fun again when I can find exactly what I'm looking for easily.
I'm slowly doing a very similar downsize. My goal is to have my desk and my 5x5 Kallax. I'm proud of your purging accomplishments and keeping an intentional stash.
That is a great goal! This process was tough, but entirely necessary. I am so much happier with my space and the supplies that I have. Good luck with your downsize plans!
Looks great! My space is very similar. I have a desk, a 4x4 expedit, one wide alex drawer unit, and one cart. The only difference is that instead of another drawer unit, I have a tower that holds irises bins. I keep my albums elsewhere, too.
That is very similar! Now that I've moved my VB supplies to the bit Alex drawers, I'm tempted to repurpose the small drawer unit elsewhere. It's nearly empty.
I really enjoyed watching your tour of your new room! I'm going to have to go back and watch your purging vids because I, too, am moving to a smaller space when I move into our farmhouse! Love how you stored everything and made use of the space so nicely. I also really like your ring light above- how is the lighting from it and does it hold your phone okay without falling down?
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful, this process was overwhelming at first, but breaking it into steps makes a big difference! Yes, I do really like this ring light, but it does occasionally add glare to my photos. I’m not sure that’s entirely avoidable though.
Wow, looks great I’m trying to purge, getting rid of stuff is hard, but taking things to donate to a trash and treasure table, and collections I haven’t used to give to organizers to either raffle or give away.
Thank you! Yes! All of my purge items were donated to shelters, schools, or scout groups. They were happy to have it and I am so much happier with my curated stash.
Your small space inspires me to purge my supplies to see how little I can work with. I have a smallish craft room, but it’s starting to getting a little overwhelming.
It adds up so quickly! Especially since I worked for several design teams over the last few years. Having a curated stash makes everything I reach for something I want to use, instead of things I think I should use.
@@lauraalbertscrafts I totally understand! For me it's the same with my toddler. Not so much time for scrapbooking anymore. It's more hiding my stuff than crafting 😅😉

Love craft room tours and post stash purge videos! Great job! 😊
Thank you, Paula! It has been such a cathartic process and seeing the results makes it all worth it!

Laura - Love your set up! Looks fantastic. Appreciate you sharing it with us in such detail.
Thank you, Tania! It was a labor of love, for sure, but now that it’s done it was so worth it!

Lovely new space! Glad that it's bringing you joy! 😊
Looks great Laura. You have all your essential near you.
Thank you, Sherry! Yes! I keep my faves close at hand and find it so helpful.

Looks great. You did a great job making your small space work. Happy crafting😀
Thank you very much! It has been a long process, but definitely worth it!
You’ve created a beautiful & organized place for yourself with the space you have! Very inspiring TFS! ✂️📝
Thank you, Jennifer! It's such an inspiring place now. If only I had a little more time to scrap!

@@lauraalbertscrafts my goal is to gradually store a row of albums on my expedit. We’ll see!
Wow, you did such a good job organizing your stash! It’s all so easy to reach. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Thank you! I’m much happier with my stash now that I’ve paired it down.
It may be smaller, but it sure looks nice!
Much more manageable too!
Enjoyed the tour! Great job. I'm doing a slow, small purge. I'm beginning to find what works for me and what doesn't. Debbie
Thank you! It’s a long process, but so worth it!
Love your new space. OMG you purged a lot! what is the white cardstock that you use for Cocoa Vanilla?
I like the slightly gray tone to this Hamilco Cardstock, it works much better for CVS collections than the bright white: amzn.to/3ytQDmc
Looks great🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you! It’s working out well so far!

Hi friend!! It’s so nice to see your new space!!
Thank you! 💕 The end of the school year has been so busy that I feel like I’m playing perpetual catch-up!

Thank you for sharing your space! Could you please link the Amazon chair? I didn’t see it on your Amazon link. Thanks!
Good catch! I missed that one. Here you go: amzn.to/3WWvfQG
Thank you for sharing your lovely space! I would love to see you using the Maggie Holmes collections 😉
Absolutely! I am trying to settle into a routine that allows me more time to scrap, but it's been tricky!
@@lauraalbertscrafts I totally understand! For me it's the same with my toddler. Not so much time for scrapbooking anymore. It's more hiding my stuff than crafting 😅😉
I like it!
Thank you! 💕
All the collections you have did they come like altogether in a kit or did you put them together? Did the paper pads & stickers etc come separate?
They were mostly sold separately from online scrapbooking stores like A Cherry On Top, but I know My Little Scrapbook Store does bundle packs.
@@lauraalbertscrafts oh okay thank you! I’ve seen some at hobby lobby and bought a few! I like those because it’s so easy to put stuff together
Sweetie where did you get your 12/12 organizers for your projects
IKEA. They have been discontinued, unfortunately.
I dont know how you went to a smaller space! 🤔 Hopefully you get to move to a larger space soon.
