Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound: Now , that's what I call a well-rounded adventure! AND ... Thank you, Jacob... your actions make your ancestors proad!
:) Thank you, Kelly.
The pile of gravel looks a lot like a burial mound. Maybe for a pioneer who died while heading west, His or her grave was covered with collected rocks to keep it from being dug up by animals.
Could be!
Hahaha.... looking old and helpless that's just my style. Love your videos and of course all your findings. ❤
So glad! LOL, I have to say I was VERY glad to see help.
Ohmygosh!!!
Eeeeekkkk!!!!😵💫
I've got to see the burl cut!!!!
Next Sunday at 5! :)
Some really cool finds Kate! Theo would love the green Jasper you found, that was so pretty! Thanks Kate, always an adventure 😀👍 and Jacob, thank you for helping Kate!
Thanks so much! 😊
Even the less glamorous trips need to be shown. It puts rock hounding into perspective. Thank you Jason, you really do rock! And I didn't even know about agatized burl 😮😮😮! Its beautiful yes!!!❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for the field trip Katy. Glad you didn't get all caked in mud too!❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Ha, Kava was so outraged. Thanks for joining us!
Glad you found some place to find some rocks. Kava had a spa day complete with a mud bath
❤😅😊❤
She was so mad! :D
Another log! Nice agates. Glad there are still some good people to help.😉
Yep, it was pretty great. Thanks!
Great hunt! That smaller Jasp-agate is cool. Hope you kept it. ROCK ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️
I did! Too many beautiful rocks. :D
@@KatyDidRocksYAY!! Yes, always!
Well Kate, you are so good at finding the agates, beautiful wood and jaspers. Commend your bravery
😆 Not sure it’s bravery. Maybe just crazy!
What a day! And lovely finds. I like that cat showing up there at the end of the video ❤
He was really puzzled by the dancing rocks.
@@KatyDidRocks puzzled cats are a joy to behold. I liked that. 😆. What fabric did you have on the dance floor?
Another great rock hunt video Kate! Thanks for sharing it. My fave was the rock with all the wavy lines all through it. Thanks again!
Wasn’t that cool!?
Love it Kate. What a great treasure hunt,
Thanks so much! 😊
The little agate with the bumps looked like a puppy paw 🐾 😊
Perfect!
Thanks for another wonderful day.
I look forward to seeing you turn your finds into projects. Keep up the good work. Mike
Thank you! I plan to cut the burl next week.
Wow Kate! You actually found some awesome stuff! But what a task to do it! And thank you Jacob for saving our Kate! Wow that buel sure will be gorgeous slabbed! And your two pieces of agatized wood you found but didn't film were really cool! Thanks Kate!
Thanks, Lisa. I find the adventure an important part of the journey - but I definitely could do without any more flat tires. :D
Soooo many beautiful rocks!
True story. :)
Can't wait to see how the burl looks sliced!
Next week!
* WOW ~ Great Rocks & a Good Samaritan.. Even a creek to wash the mud off of Kava.. Nice finds.. Thanx for taking us along..
Thanks for joining us on our adventure. Yes, the creek definitely had multiple uses that day.
Can't wait to see that burl slabbed!
Next Sunday's video!
Lucky you. Your last two hunts have gifted you with two big, beautiful chunks of wood. The one in this video should be amazing when it's cut.
I am very lucky to have access to such awesome rocks!
What a lovely trip you had! Goodness its so pretty there.
It really is. Thanks, Alice! :)
A nice fun trip and a couple of stones along the way. I liked the watermellon jasper the best. Thanks for sharing.😊
That watermelon jasper was so cool!
Oh no Katy! Thank you Jacob!
I was in the phone with my husband when he stopped - he probably could have talked me through it, but this was easier. 😂
The lines were probably layers once upon a time. With some smushing of plate tectonics they get wriggly & angled. Since ironstone is really hard compared to what's around it erosion takes longer & it sticks out like a sore thumb after a while. Our ironstone makes little square cubes or little bowls sometimes. It's kind of neat. Definitely made a different way
Very cool! Thanks. :)
Thanks Kate!!
Thanks for joining us!
Great video Katy! Love watching your adventures!
Aww, thanks, Ariel! It definitely was an adventure. :)
Cool finds! You definitely put your time in. You would be fun to rock hound with . Your channel is a great one.
Thank you! :) It was a great adventure, and I was grateful to get out.
Also it's mon morning watching your video and heading to miles city with the jet boat to find some rocks !!
Yay!
Nice finds Katie
Thanks!
Are those toad stools, we get them on the prairie of Colorado when there is a lot of rain. Off the beaten path is a great adventure, happy hounding.
I think they are called puffballs, but maybe?
It would be great to see a few cut so we can see what they will look like ❤❤❤
good idea. :)
Such cool finds, I love your videos 💜
Thanks so much!
Maybe a very old homestead. Worth metal detecting or looking for artifacts.
Fantastic find! I've found burl like material but only about the size of a quarter. Lots of pet wood where I am but not as many agates.
Both are great!
Katy, I think you could go anywhere in the U.S., step out of your car and find an agate! LOL!
:D I doubt that that is true - but thanks!
We were hoping to see the burl cut. Soonish?
Hello! I know, waiting is so hard! I plan to do a cutting video next week. :)
@@KatyDidRocks yey!!!🥰
I've totally looked through rocks at the drive through. Asked if I could take some and got the OK! People must have though I randomly lost an earring in the drive thru lane.
It's a sickness! :D
@@KatyDidRocks I should start up Rocks Anonymous. We will all meet up at the nearest quarry. Bring buckets...to..ya know...sit on!
We would like to see the Burl slabbed please. 🙂
Next week!
I've found wood as big as a bowling ball there !
It's an amazing spot.
HAhaha were those rocks at Wendy's drive through? I look at those every stinkin' time!
They ARE! Good eye. :D
Big is best!! would rather pic up big "talking point" piece than a bunch of tiny pieces :) The white sand in the creek bed, to me, looks "kaolinite" derived, a form of clay produced by volcanic ash and granite, common in the montana area, rich in quartz.
It sure could be! I love the big stuff too, but it does make hauling it all a bit challenging. :D
Serious question from someone just starting out; How do you solve having too many rocks? What is your storage secret? I am slowly collecting everything I need to tumble and cut rocks. I am however in the meantime struggling to store all my treasures😂
Garden decor?
:D Rock management is a very difficult task. Honestly, I DO have too. many rocks. I solve my problem with an Etsy store, so I can share the treasures - but it still is challenging. Buckets and organization are your friend.
Thank you for replying! I've kind of avoided going to the beach for the time being, since when I go I tend to come home 20 pounds heavier. lol My S.O. picked up a metal tool chest with drawers. The theory is that it will be heavy duty enough to hold my smaller rocks. I have some clever designs in mind that I intend to one day employ, but we plan to move soon and I don't want to add any extra weight to our moving boxes. I love your etsy store suggestion! I've considered that for the long term plan. I love sharing the treasures 😁
Thank you also for sharing the treasure that is your knowledge! My boyfriend handed me a pretty rock he found. I identified a few of the main minerals it was made of and the people we were with looked at me like I was a wizard😄@@KatyDidRocks
11 mins in at the creek you on the north side of the river ?? Down a dirt road a mile or so ?
I think so...
