Man,what a great day! ,when I was young, used to search through the gravel in buildingsites, later wherever I could, still do when possible. Keep it up! It is pure magic!
Greetings from SW Michigan! Our idea of heaven is a Lake Superior beach in the fall. We love jasper (mostly red here), fossils, banded chert (yellow or brown to off white here) and whatever else catches our eyes. We just bought our first tumbler, but we've been collecting rocks for years and just displaying them around the house and yard. We've been working our way forward from your first video. We viewed your 10/11/2020 video on 05/14/2022, so we have some catching up to do! We have so enjoyed your trips with your family and Kip! Thank you for sharing!
Hey Kip, we are a family of new rockhounds. Twix, Jack and I (Captain) are training our humans to find beautiful rocks and other treasures in the Colorado Springs area. We have just joined CSMS, so when the snow starts to melt, we will be trying out a lot of areas. My Dad's name is Andrew, we trained him to feed us and drive us places to explore. You seem pretty cool, so you are welcome to join some time if you'd like. Heck, Yellowstone would be a great place to visit, also. My Mom has an 11 year old boy, and a 12 year old girl. but don't worry, they know their place in the pack. Great video and maybe we can hunt for awesome stones! Captain
I love these videos because not only are you sharing your hobby with us, the excitement in your voice when you find a great piece makes it feel like Christmas morning! My daughter (she's only 7) loves learning about the different rocks as she's compiling a bucket list of finds for our camping trip next summer. I also shared your last video with my brother in law after I seen a picture of the gravel bar along the river where he took my niece & nephew swimming this summer. Thank you for being an inspiration and happy hunting!
I love to see those stunning pieces of agates and petrified woods.Your dog complement the scene, making a wonderful afternoon. Thanks so much Sir for easing my stressful afternoon office work.
Glad Kips ok, awesome rocks in this video. Learning new things about rocks and also what to look for. Thanks for inspiring me to plan another adventure!
I just recently found a very similar piece of solid dark green jasper ! I kept it it was so pretty! Love your videos! I used to rock collect as a kid! Watching your videos has gotten me back into it!
@@AgateAngler have you ever been up to glendive and did the petrified wood ranch? I have a Client that went up there and brought back some massive agatized petrified wood. It was $120, but was huge pieces.
I Love God's Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👏🏻🤴🏼🙌🏻 I Hope, in the very near future, you Give Thanks to Jesus, for Giving you such a day, of Him Showing and Giving you, His Awesome Creations! He even Gave you that one, white one, that has a CROSS in it!!! Hint, hint...... He's The Rock of Ages, the Most Pretty Rock, that Made them All and He's the Breath of Beautiful Life, In, you and your dog Kip! I pray, you get a Holy Bible and look into Him, More, beginning in The Book of John..... Blessings ✝️
Thanks for sharing this video for someone who lives in CT. We have nothing like these river stones along our rivers/streams. Our southern border is fully along Long Island Sound.
What awesome finds! When you described the jasper as having red veins , or arteries, it made me chuckle, your medical training was showing😁. Great video!👍👍
Also enjoy collecting, cutting and polishing agates here in Scotland, its a great hobby. However I have a different world view of there origin. I consider them to have either been formed during the great flood which involved massive earth upheaval with extensive volcanic and earthquake activity or at the beginning of creation by the God of the bible. We also have some gemstones which can be faceted, something I am working on right now. Do like the riverbeds where you collect from, simple and clean. We don't have so much of that available in rivers, but we do have plenty pebble beaches. Keep up the with the videos. Thanks JS.
So many rocks to chose from. Nice thing is if you decide you really didn't want or need them, you can take them back for someone else to find. Agates are so beautiful, like they have a life of their own embodied inside of them. Of course the petrified wood is always a find...50 million years old? I wonder what kind of stories trees would tell, if they could talk.
Wow. Just gorgeous finds and a lovely day. I really hope to get out there someday. I got some stones from a local gravel company - the lady was nice enough to let me fill a quart container. I plan to take some of the tumbled stones back when I go to place an order. I haven’t seen any agates yet, but I might get lucky. Or have to drive back to Michigan and look for more.
Oh thank God, I finally got to watch you again😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️ I enjoy your videos. I also collect stones from places or countries I have been😊 I always finish your videos😊 my faves are the petrified woods. 🙏🙏❤️stay safe and healthy🙏🙏🙏
What an outstanding day of hounding. Thanks for sharing! It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada so tomorrow I'll be working off the turkey with some beach hounding.
Wish we had neat rocks to find around me! There are so many rocks i see in your videos of blue and green and red dont know what they are but they all look cool!
Love all the different types of stones you are finding on the Yellowstone. Would love to see more of the pinkish stones, perhaps rhodochrosite? Anyway, I love your channel!!
I went out looking for rocks today and I found an old ax head. it's very heavy I think it's iron and I think it was actually a forged ax head, pretty old.
I’m getting to have a large collection of rocks and don’t really know what to do with them or how to make them presentable to put around my house. What do you usually do with yours? Do you have any ideas?

Uau super gostei...muito top amigo. Great vídeo my Friends.. 🤩😍
Thanks for showing us how to hunt for these beauties! We have come from KY to hunt on the Yellowstone. So far in Yellowstone the river is flooded. Wondering if you can direct us to a location to hunt. Thanks!
Having Kip with you is a good way to maintain your record of not meeting up with a brown bear. An extra pair of eyes and an excellent nose to watch your back while your attention is on the stones. 😉
Mr. Agate Angler... why do you only give yourself a couple hours? Guessing it's because of work? I \f I ever make out to Yellowstone, I'd start at 1pm & go until a half an hour before sundown. Awesome finds & thanks for the relaxing vid. Unfortunately I haven't gone out hounding in SoCal for 2 months (360 degree bulged disc, 18 mm, between L4 & L5) that's kept me from exploring & hunting. I hope 2021 brings me some adventures!!! And I hope you have adventures too!!!
Hey acted angler I wanted to tell you to get yourself a black light. As you are rockhounding it starts getting dark you can use your black light on rocks and see if any of them will fluoresce. You may find something very interesting that during the day looks like a rock you would overlook. Hope this works out for you and do a video about it if it does.
I wish i lived more up in the mountains! We have dirty agates in the gorge!
I love the petrified wood 🪵
MMMMMM petrified wood, The best

Nice finds today! I really liked the small agate that had the orange/pink outer side!
Oh man Alex I still can't get over the piece's you leave!! Another good one
Lived in Montana for 8 years and never once went rock hunting. Wish I was there now.
@@jackiebohrer2987 I'd love to take the trip for a weekend just to go rock hounding

Beautiful finds 😍 even the small agates!
Do you make jewellery stones (earring stone, ring stone, necklace appendant, etc) from those beautiful rocks?
Yep 18 days later we have 15 inches of snow ugh. Good videos.
Yes indeed! Thanks for watching Kristi!

Crazy agate-fest!!! That little blue one looked like it had a bunch of eyes!! So much fantastic pet wood!! The two with the great rings were my fav!
Hello 👋 exciting place to go rock hounding 👍🥰😉. I had to share this ❣️. I’ve got to invest in a good rock tumbler ❣️
You really should. I'll have some more rock tumbling videos coming out in the near future.

I see other great stones and can't tell you. I been a rock hound ..70 years old. Rose quartz my love.

At 17:49 below center and slightly to the right, I spot a bit of opalescence. A good agate perhaps?
Maybe! Good eye. I'm headed back out tomorrow, so maybe I'll check it out if I get that far.

can you suggest?, bring a bucket + a brush to wash the stones you find
