Petrified Wood in the mountains

Here are some good examples of Petrified Wood in Montana. Some specimens are still upright and in their place of origin. I discovered a cave where the host rock has become eroded away from the harder Petrified Wood exposing the Petrified wood fossils. The recent floods from last year as well as most likely a hard rain event in the last week has unearthed new discoveries of a fossils strewn throughout the creek bottom and side hill cliffs.

I've never seen a large truck standing. Usually they are laying down with no bark. Very cool.

Wow it is so beautiful there ! Such interesting petrified wood ! So cool to see the water flowing over the rocks ! Is that a partridge bird ? Another nice thing to see out there. The petrified wood at 6:00 is sure pretty looking :) You live in a very blessed area. Enjoyed watching😊
