I’m starting to notice that a lot of the champs featured on “why no one plays” have a history of changes that changes the identity or playstyle of a champ.
Quite a few older champs being brought forward and in that process losing what people knew or liked about them. The hardest part being most are objectively made better, but either you lose the old player base for the champ or newer champs are just flat better doing what some do. I might be biased though cause I'm still upset about Malzahar. I'd like my puddle back.
they should just combine both ultimate, first its a single target but after the second explosion it stuns anyone inside. This would make her a great disruptor and have a unique ultimate compared to just "big instant crowdcontrol".
@@lifeisboss7097 I mean, it has to travel far enough before hitting someone and then they have to stay inside the area in order to be stunned so I think it'd be fair. Ekko has a huge AoE stun while being an assassin which is less telegraphed and works even if you're up in his face.
I really love playing her, but while her ult is extremely useful, there are so many junglers that do her job but better. And since everyone has a dash nowadays it’s pretty hard to get the most use out of your entire kit.
That’s so true! Since last patch zac is a much better choice for engage tank. I think they just need to buff her clear speed, by shaving some cd on her q. Or giver her a tiny bit more damage to her W. I mean they only buffed zac a tiny bit and he is now playable again.
If you play her jungle and you’re good at the champion you won’t have mana problems. Especially now since Frozen Heart is really good on her but even if you don’t build it her mana costs are just fine
2 for me especially if one of them builds AS like Trynd. You will literally remove Drag, Baron, and Rift from the map within seconds because of how fast you can proc your E. The damage is insane.
Varus is gay. That's why. Like,long poke, long CC, burst damage, and still lose 1v1 laning phase against mf. I don't know if that's not wrong what else you called it.
As a long time seju player, I prefer this kit. Old W wasn't very good, it was basically an extra sunfire. Old ult was better. I think E should either have reduced stacks, land stacks on Q and ult, or just not have stacks like before. Massive passive armor was also which she was a beefy pig you could not scratch in the first few seconds.
Better in terms of viability does not mean better designed overall. Her new kit is more cohesive and fun to play IMO, but she needs buffs because she's lacking in terms of AoE CC despite being a disruptor tank jungler. Either her dash should be able to knock up multiple enemies again or the glacier shattering on her ultimate should stun instead of slow.

Its the same idea but it shouldnt sound so biased and you can always just say that you are basing it on ban rates and not your personal opinions.

Picked Sej up when this video came out, and a few months later can confidently say Sej's biggest issue isn't a lack of damage or CC, but the requirement of having other melee fighters on her team. You can't viably one trick her because her strength isn't flat game to game. A Sej with a Yasuo mid or a Tryndamere top is much more dangerous than one with 4 ranged allies. You can't pick her blind so unless you put in the time to recognize good comps to add her too you'll be stuck getting coinflippy results.
Her w sucks a little bit in certain situations but it's useful. I still prefer her old W and think they should revert her slightly, because I think the area of effect is a littler better. Honestly maybe fusing her old W with current one might fix a lot of things.

It's basically her only real damage ability and with the amount of dashes and mobility, people walk out it a lot. If you can consistently hit it yeah it is good, but sometimes stuff happens right? I think bringing back her old ult or giving her aoe slow on her w would fix some other issues on her. Maybe not making her E depend so much on her team mates... There are a lot of small fixes that could make her life better I am a sej main, she is my favorite character and even tho I'm no pro, i spent a lot of time with her before and after both reworks. I've been there to abuse elo gains and suffer from being the worst jungle ever, and it pains me to know that everytime I pick sej I'm basically shooting myself on the foot if I can't get her rolling early
As an advocate of playing sej mid, she has her moments and provided you're not playing into someone more aggressive than you are she'll come out of lane very rich.
Juani pre-rework was my fav champ. I learned to play LoL using her (cuz if you don't know what you are doing, just pick a tank and don't die). I really miss her old W.
They took her kit apart, made a clunky monstrosity out of it, destroyed her early clear, shifted meta towards early game dueling invading brawlers, and just to add: every meta pick on the rift has a dash, invulnerability or invisibility, while Sejuani rides a piglet? 😂

As someone play Sejuani frequently before and after the rework, while I do like her old ultimate her current position as a single target CC tank is quite special. Bringing back the old ultimate would solve her problems but are many thing that can be added to solve her problems. Mixn'match the things below: >A damage buff while and after her passive shield is broken. >Permafrost being multitarget and/or AA-reset. >Ultimate's Stun don't trigger per Champion Permafrost cooldown. >Ultimate's Slow Area also applies one stack of Permafrost so Sejuani can chain another stun easily.
She has a single target CC from her ult, not really helpful especially since most tanks in the game now have AOE CC like Alistar, Ornn, Rell, and a few others. Even Zac, that's kinda the reason why Sejuani is barely viable as a jungler or even a toplaner.
I used to love playing Sejuani back in the day, she did a good amount of damage, and her kit was great. Like you said, that ulti change really hurt her, changing it from AoE stun to a single target stun, really has hampered her team fight ability; I mean, it's good for solo ganking and such, but come on, once that 20 min mark happens, it's somewhat useless compared to others. She needs her old ulti back, I totally agree to that.
How strong her old passive was felt incredibly understated here, the focus seemed to just be on crowd control when she was capable of just charging in and soaking colossal amount of damage due to her insane resistance bonuses for those first three seconds.

I REALLY like this video! Wish I knew about this series so I could have helped give some insight into this champion and the Sejuani Mains group/reddit/discord and also thoughts on why she's under played Being the highest ranked Sejuani main in North America, I can say I definitely miss her old kit but I've become accustomed to the new kit and playstyle and I think it has clear strengths and weaknesses. However much I'd love to have the old ultimate again, I feel like it's just too strong with the hit she has now and that some other minor addition or change would be necessary to make her on par with the current meta champions.
I used to play sej so much, after the rework i liked how they changed permafrost because added some "skill" to her kit but yes the ultimate nerf was rough
I actually love playing Sej top, ever since the rework. before then I didn't really have her on my radar to be honest - she was a jungler only (or ap) and I didn't play it back then. she's super fun to play for me now personally and can do a very surprising amount of damage indeed. it's a fun counter/pocket pick for sure, but I miss the old items on her.
I think just plainly bringing back her old ultimate isn't as easy as it sounds. With her new passive Shatter she would be able to unload a devestating combo with her R + W, dealing massive % health damage to up to 5 people on top of stunning them in the first place (yes, to all who didn't knew, W can trigger Shatter). To bring back her old R they would have to either remove or heavily nerf Shatter and that would come at the cost of her 1v1 and DPS, just in favor for a better teamfight engage. And even then there would likely be tanks who are doing a better job at teamfighting, leaving Seju outclassed in that regard and also with a nerfed 1v1.

I love the bola skillshot, but it would really help if it rooted secondary targets slowed by the AoE. I think that's all Sej really needs to remain impactful past the mid game.
I just found your channel and I am addicted to these videos all of a sudden. May I make a request for a champion I fell in love with because of the youtuber Zwag? Xerath is a champ that not many know of his history and his entire kits redesign. He fell off of mid lane and moved into support due to the sheer mass of assassins in the mid lane that all counter him as he sucks into tanks and assassins. He is such fun champ to play but man is he so weak and now is forced into the support role. He is getting a buff next patch though finally!! Would really love a video on why no one plays him
No offense but i freaking hate xerath. One of the most annoying mid laners in the game if you're not playing a character with a dash/dive of some sort.
I love Sej! Though I mostly play her as an engage tank support. She’s really tanky and can deal with poke extremely well due to her passive, and her Q->W is a great way to get onto the enemy and make sure they can’t escape, before you even consider the E and R. Plus, her E passive makes roaming up to help secure drag basically free as long as it’s a melee jungler on your team.
You HAVE to be biased to have not had a problem with old sej ult. It traveled so fast and allowed her to lockdown for so long that you could barely do anything about it if you didnt have a cleanse. You add that on top of how quickly everyone dies nowadays and they nerf her back down to obscurity on the very next patch and this is from a sej player
Great video but I think you forgot to adress another one of her weaknesses. Her stun stacks can only be applied by melee autos which means if you first picked and your whole team is ranged you have no help applying your stun
12:00 "Recived a number of dmg buffs", which amount to a total of 200 dmg over 2 skills if she has more them 5000 hp. Meanwhile her only strength (her tankiness) that was in her passive was reduced to 25% of effectiveness. (Gutted even more, since her passive once was extra armor/mr equal to 100% of the total armor/mr, and now it's only the bonus armor/mr) Classic riot. What will the next "buff" be? "We noticed that Zac is not as strong now, so we increased the dmg of his abilities by 2%, but now each cost 500 hp, to keep it balanced"
Become a lvl 2 invading river pig: hail of blades cheap shot eyeball collection relentless hunter bone plating w/e else. Start raptors save smite, cross river and invade gromp. Steal gromp, hail of blades them, stun, ignite, block all their dmg with plating, go take their wolves. If they aren't there, ward wolves, take blue, take gromp, watch them at wolves and smite it, jump in and kill them easily. Back immediately, buy boots and armor, rush to scuttle, then go to their krugs/gromp whichever camp respawns first, and camp them over and over. It's not about winning, it's about sending a message.
i main sejuani sup and my biggest problem isnt that her R doesn't multitarget, my biggest issue is how ridiculously long her Q's CD is if I use it to engage i can't escape cause the fight will be over before i have my Q back
I'd like to see her ult return to being an AoE stun, and I think Permafrost's passive needs be slightly reworked to only proc the Frost cooldown on Permafrosted targets.
She's my main and has been since release. I miss her old abilities, but she's a surprisingly strong tank in most metas. I'd like to see her ultimate reverted, but integrated with her passive. Additionally, I think her Q should apply her E's passive. An optimal engage right now requires 2 auto attacks to trigger a stun, adding the Q proc would make her single target lockdown way faster. I would really like if her ultimate didn't have the distance traveled requirement so that I can create a disruptive area around my primary target instead of just stunning them and getting collapsed on by the team. The secondary burst adding a major slow, root, or a stun would make her much more of a menace. It sticks to miss her ultimate and the secondary burst right now isn't really relevant.

Really neat video, great insight... I've played Sej ever since season 5 and I do really miss the old ultimate. Having the potential to land a crazy AOE definitely makes her paly a lot differently. Back in the day I would always aim to use her ult a lot like malphites, waiting for that big, big team fight engage, nowadays I find myself generally using it to simply get a pick by landing the initial stun on an unsuspecting warder. Getting the pick can in itself win a game but with the old ult no matter what stage you were at in the game if you landed a big enough ult then your team could win the game, there was always that potential... It's not quite the same at the moment, there are a load of champs who can do what Sej does currently but get out relatively easily as well. I agree with you, I wouldn't mind the old ult making a reappearance. I feel like there are enough ways to dodge abilities in the game currently which mean it wouldn't be overpowered and would just give Sej a little boost which would in turn make for some more exciting gameplay. As a seju main i think she is good at what she does but other champs do everything better now a days Like for nunu an aoe slow shielding yourself and massive damage even going full tank and i hope that riot will make a change to bring back the old ult and maybe without the ice proc
One cool change I just thought about they could do to her is to make her Permafrost readily available for targets she hit with her Q and both parts of her W. This would make it so that she can engage on a target by herself and lock them down in place long enough for backup. This also inherently speeds up her clear time in the jungle because she can activate Permafrost much more quickly. Also make it so she can activate Permafrost on every target within it's range all at the same time this could potentially give her some form of AoE crowd control that other tanks have.
I think her ult would be much better, if it worked a bit like Senna W: If you hit someone with it, there is this are slow, and if people stay in there for too long, they get stunned as well

As a Mage main.. man life was so much easier for me to play garen mid instead of neeko or xerath or some mage. You legit.. run at them. Press q... then e.. then at some point w.. then ignite ult and they die...
Man I remember the days when we would play the pre-rework Sejuani, Galio and Amumu and just sit at one place and use our ult one after the other and watch how the enemy team get cc for 1000 years..
Been playing sejuani top, rush the new claw item first, mark the laner and get free resistances. Lategame put it on the high priority target and profit. Her w manages waves pretty well when you can just push minions out of tower range and waveclears surprising well with it too
I still currently main Sej and I think there are a few changes that would really empower her in my opinion. Permafrost should be her passive ability, replacing frost armour. This obviously makes her ability to lockdown targets at long range a little harder, but honestly her other abilities give her enough range and mobility to catch tricky champs (and the other changes I suggest below sort of make up for it). Shattering frozen enemies should deal damage based on Sejuani's health, not the target's. Her Q should scale off of her health and/or AD. It should also deal physical damage and not magic damage. It should also smacc frozen enemies and deal bonus damage to them in addition to Sej's passive damage. Her W should be a 360 aoe sweep kind of like her old one, but still retain the directional slam at the end of the ability. Obviously lessen the aoe damage as it will hit more targets, but buff the directional hit more making it her big damage ability. I feel like it should also scale off of AD instead of AP, dealing combined physical and magic damage based on AD and Health respectively. Her E should become her frost armour. Keep the passive pretty similar but have it scale off of armour and magic resist. And maybe throw in an activated ability that instantly regenerates the frost armour or maybe something that debuffs nearby enemies. Either way, this ability will help Sej survive better and engage or disengage a little safer. Her Ult should retain the initial targeted stun but the delayed explosion should also briefly stun all enemies within the aoe. Locking down one enemy for an extended period and disrupting everyone else would give her R greater utility and make it seem like an actual ultimate ability.
i would like to point out one thing: while here e benefits from multiple ppl just like braum, her q and w reset her aa and her w applies 2 staks, so q aa w aa is all u need to activate her e, its not instant but its a lot faster than braum great vid tho
I know abit late to the party xD You mentioned that they changed Zac's ultimate back because of how useless it was. I thought that they changed it due to how BROKEN it was. You could jump onto anyone of their team due to your reach (prefereably a squishy naturally ^^) and then simply just ult while they were still knocked up from your E and then bring them right in the middle for your team, to make sure they blow them up. At least that was how my climb with Zac to Diamond Promotion went :).

I'm surprised you didn't mention Ornn for top lane tanks, given that his full combo deals 104% max health damage, plus 400 or so base damage on top of that.
I'm not sure bringing her old ulti of back in the day is a good idea, it was way to goo. But maybe make it so it stuns only at the very senter like Leona like that you can stun several people but there is clear counterplay option to it
I miss being able to jungle Maokai and Nautilus. They just don't clear fast enough anymore. Jungle tanks in general were fun af, I thought. Jungle juggernauts are a'ight, but they just aren't the same as proper vanguard tank junglers. Of course, I also haven't played in years, so if I were to come back to it fully, I might find myself a juggernaut jungler I'd like. Still, it makes me sad to know Sej lost her burst engage, cuz that really was one of the things that made her fun.
I really wish the old ultimate back for her. Yes it was very good but it was also a lot more fun! Tanks can have the issue of being a bit boring at times and not feel flashy to play. A 5man ult is exactly what a tank needs to be ”cool and fun” to play! Also I think you forgot to mention this but they essentially keep Sejuani gutted because of proplay, since that’s where she has been strong ever since the rework and not in solo queue. I’m honestly thinking that the balance team is afraid of buffing her just because of proplay. And it makes me really sad.
Lower her dammage and give her some healing, self healing or single target balance how you like, you could make it %max health, or missing health healing. This should help her tank against insane damage comming in. She can still be focused but it would be harder and then if she isn't focused then she could wreck shop.
Actually she can became a Raid Boss like Cho, insane unburstable GF for her passive during start of TF, immune to slow and can stuns for days, work a lot with others melee with high AS or simply with his BF Sett, stack E passive so easly
I would like to see a why no one plays for Maokai, specifically for his original role(s) top/jungle. Out of the 3 dedicated tanks mentioned (Mao, Sej, Zac) Zac is the only one that got a (partial) revert, and is by far the most viable of the 3 in his traditional role. Sej was very well covered in this vid, and it would be nice to have some light shed on ol' treebeard. (and yes, i am also biased, since i *loved* the old maokai)

You can't viably one trick her because her strength isn't flat game to game. A Sej with a Yasuo mid or a Tryndamere top is much more dangerous than one with 4 ranged allies. You can't pick her blind so unless you put in the time to recognize good comps to add her too you'll be stuck getting coinflippy results.
Sejuani is so much fun to play, Lore-wise, I’m a Liss main, so boo Sej, but I think she has a really well designed kit.
agreed. she has a perfect kit but riot kept hitting her with a series of nerfs because... reasons.
Her w sucks a little bit in certain situations but it's useful. I still prefer her old W and think they should revert her slightly, because I think the area of effect is a littler better.
Honestly maybe fusing her old W with current one might fix a lot of things.

It's basically her only real damage ability and with the amount of dashes and mobility, people walk out it a lot. If you can consistently hit it yeah it is good, but sometimes stuff happens right?
I think bringing back her old ult or giving her aoe slow on her w would fix some other issues on her. Maybe not making her E depend so much on her team mates... There are a lot of small fixes that could make her life better
I am a sej main, she is my favorite character and even tho I'm no pro, i spent a lot of time with her before and after both reworks. I've been there to abuse elo gains and suffer from being the worst jungle ever, and it pains me to know that everytime I pick sej I'm basically shooting myself on the foot if I can't get her rolling early
As an advocate of playing sej mid, she has her moments and provided you're not playing into someone more aggressive than you are she'll come out of lane very rich.

As someone play Sejuani frequently before and after the rework, while I do like her old ultimate her current position as a single target CC tank is quite special. Bringing back the old ultimate would solve her problems but are many thing that can be added to solve her problems.
Mixn'match the things below:
>A damage buff while and after her passive shield is broken.
>Permafrost being multitarget and/or AA-reset.
>Ultimate's Stun don't trigger per Champion Permafrost cooldown.
>Ultimate's Slow Area also applies one stack of Permafrost so Sejuani can chain another stun easily.
She has a single target CC from her ult, not really helpful especially since most tanks in the game now have AOE CC like Alistar, Ornn, Rell, and a few others. Even Zac, that's kinda the reason why Sejuani is barely viable as a jungler or even a toplaner.
I used to love playing Sejuani back in the day, she did a good amount of damage, and her kit was great. Like you said, that ulti change really hurt her, changing it from AoE stun to a single target stun, really has hampered her team fight ability; I mean, it's good for solo ganking and such, but come on, once that 20 min mark happens, it's somewhat useless compared to others. She needs her old ulti back, I totally agree to that.
How strong her old passive was felt incredibly understated here, the focus seemed to just be on crowd control when she was capable of just charging in and soaking colossal amount of damage due to her insane resistance bonuses for those first three seconds.

I REALLY like this video! Wish I knew about this series so I could have helped give some insight into this champion and the Sejuani Mains group/reddit/discord and also thoughts on why she's under played
Being the highest ranked Sejuani main in North America, I can say I definitely miss her old kit but I've become accustomed to the new kit and playstyle and I think it has clear strengths and weaknesses. However much I'd love to have the old ultimate again, I feel like it's just too strong with the hit she has now and that some other minor addition or change would be necessary to make her on par with the current meta champions.
Zac's ult was underwhelming? I loved it. E'ing in the scooping up a carry or 2 to my team was so hype to me

I actually love playing Sej top, ever since the rework. before then I didn't really have her on my radar to be honest - she was a jungler only (or ap) and I didn't play it back then. she's super fun to play for me now personally and can do a very surprising amount of damage indeed. it's a fun counter/pocket pick for sure, but I miss the old items on her.
I think just plainly bringing back her old ultimate isn't as easy as it sounds. With her new passive Shatter she would be able to unload a devestating combo with her R + W, dealing massive % health damage to up to 5 people on top of stunning them in the first place (yes, to all who didn't knew, W can trigger Shatter). To bring back her old R they would have to either remove or heavily nerf Shatter and that would come at the cost of her 1v1 and DPS, just in favor for a better teamfight engage. And even then there would likely be tanks who are doing a better job at teamfighting, leaving Seju outclassed in that regard and also with a nerfed 1v1.

I just found your channel and I am addicted to these videos all of a sudden. May I make a request for a champion I fell in love with because of the youtuber Zwag? Xerath is a champ that not many know of his history and his entire kits redesign. He fell off of mid lane and moved into support due to the sheer mass of assassins in the mid lane that all counter him as he sucks into tanks and assassins. He is such fun champ to play but man is he so weak and now is forced into the support role. He is getting a buff next patch though finally!!

No offense but i freaking hate xerath. One of the most annoying mid laners in the game if you're not playing a character with a dash/dive of some sort.
I love Sej! Though I mostly play her as an engage tank support. She’s really tanky and can deal with poke extremely well due to her passive, and her Q->W is a great way to get onto the enemy and make sure they can’t escape, before you even consider the E and R. Plus, her E passive makes roaming up to help secure drag basically free as long as it’s a melee jungler on your team.
I really miss PreRework Seju... I liked her. I most played CC Seju Tank with Rylais and Frozen mallet, back when Slows still stacked.

You HAVE to be biased to have not had a problem with old sej ult. It traveled so fast and allowed her to lockdown for so long that you could barely do anything about it if you didnt have a cleanse. You add that on top of how quickly everyone dies nowadays and they nerf her back down to obscurity on the very next patch and this is from a sej player

Great video but I think you forgot to adress another one of her weaknesses. Her stun stacks can only be applied by melee autos which means if you first picked and your whole team is ranged you have no help applying your stun

Recently picked up ap sej mid. One shoting with sej feels so good

Meanwhile her only strength (her tankiness) that was in her passive was reduced to 25% of effectiveness. (Gutted even more, since her passive once was extra armor/mr equal to 100% of the total armor/mr, and now it's only the bonus armor/mr)

Become a lvl 2 invading river pig: hail of blades cheap shot eyeball collection relentless hunter bone plating w/e else. Start raptors save smite, cross river and invade gromp. Steal gromp, hail of blades them, stun, ignite, block all their dmg with plating, go take their wolves. If they aren't there, ward wolves, take blue, take gromp, watch them at wolves and smite it, jump in and kill them easily. Back immediately, buy boots and armor, rush to scuttle, then go to their krugs/gromp whichever camp respawns first, and camp them over and over. It's not about winning, it's about sending a message.

She's my main and has been since release. I miss her old abilities, but she's a surprisingly strong tank in most metas.
I'd like to see her ultimate reverted, but integrated with her passive. Additionally, I think her Q should apply her E's passive. An optimal engage right now requires 2 auto attacks to trigger a stun, adding the Q proc would make her single target lockdown way faster. I would really like if her ultimate didn't have the distance traveled requirement so that I can create a disruptive area around my primary target instead of just stunning them and getting collapsed on by the team. The secondary burst adding a major slow, root, or a stun would make her much more of a menace. It sticks to miss her ultimate and the secondary burst right now isn't really relevant.

Really neat video, great insight... I've played Sej ever since season 5 and I do really miss the old ultimate. Having the potential to land a crazy AOE definitely makes her paly a lot differently. Back in the day I would always aim to use her ult a lot like malphites, waiting for that big, big team fight engage, nowadays I find myself generally using it to simply get a pick by landing the initial stun on an unsuspecting warder. Getting the pick can in itself win a game but with the old ult no matter what stage you were at in the game if you landed a big enough ult then your team could win the game, there was always that potential... It's not quite the same at the moment, there are a load of champs who can do what Sej does currently but get out relatively easily as well.
I agree with you, I wouldn't mind the old ult making a reappearance. I feel like there are enough ways to dodge abilities in the game currently which mean it wouldn't be overpowered and would just give Sej a little boost which would in turn make for some more exciting gameplay.

One cool change I just thought about they could do to her is to make her Permafrost readily available for targets she hit with her Q and both parts of her W. This would make it so that she can engage on a target by herself and lock them down in place long enough for backup. This also inherently speeds up her clear time in the jungle because she can activate Permafrost much more quickly. Also make it so she can activate Permafrost on every target within it's range all at the same time this could potentially give her some form of AoE crowd control that other tanks have.
I think her ult would be much better, if it worked a bit like Senna W: If you hit someone with it, there is this are slow, and if people stay in there for too long, they get stunned as well

Landing a Combo as old Sej with Full AP Build was one of the most statiffying feelings around.
But well, i guess its better to make her... this.
Been playing sejuani top, rush the new claw item first, mark the laner and get free resistances. Lategame put it on the high priority target and profit. Her w manages waves pretty well when you can just push minions out of tower range and waveclears surprising well with it too

I still currently main Sej and I think there are a few changes that would really empower her in my opinion.
Permafrost should be her passive ability, replacing frost armour. This obviously makes her ability to lockdown targets at long range a little harder, but honestly her other abilities give her enough range and mobility to catch tricky champs (and the other changes I suggest below sort of make up for it). Shattering frozen enemies should deal damage based on Sejuani's health, not the target's.
Her Q should scale off of her health and/or AD. It should also deal physical damage and not magic damage. It should also smacc frozen enemies and deal bonus damage to them in addition to Sej's passive damage.
Her W should be a 360 aoe sweep kind of like her old one, but still retain the directional slam at the end of the ability. Obviously lessen the aoe damage as it will hit more targets, but buff the directional hit more making it her big damage ability. I feel like it should also scale off of AD instead of AP, dealing combined physical and magic damage based on AD and Health respectively.
Her E should become her frost armour. Keep the passive pretty similar but have it scale off of armour and magic resist. And maybe throw in an activated ability that instantly regenerates the frost armour or maybe something that debuffs nearby enemies. Either way, this ability will help Sej survive better and engage or disengage a little safer.
Her Ult should retain the initial targeted stun but the delayed explosion should also briefly stun all enemies within the aoe. Locking down one enemy for an extended period and disrupting everyone else would give her R greater utility and make it seem like an actual ultimate ability.
I played her in s9 before she got nerfed pretty hard, hitting long range ults was so satisfying and key to being effective

You mentioned that they changed Zac's ultimate back because of how useless it was. I thought that they changed it due to how BROKEN it was. You could jump onto anyone of their team due to your reach (prefereably a squishy naturally ^^) and then simply just ult while they were still knocked up from your E and then bring them right in the middle for your team, to make sure they blow them up. At least that was how my climb with Zac to Diamond Promotion went :).

I'm surprised you didn't mention Ornn for top lane tanks, given that his full combo deals 104% max health damage, plus 400 or so base damage on top of that.
I'm not sure bringing her old ulti of back in the day is a good idea, it was way to goo. But maybe make it so it stuns only at the very senter like Leona like that you can stun several people but there is clear counterplay option to it
I miss being able to jungle Maokai and Nautilus. They just don't clear fast enough anymore. Jungle tanks in general were fun af, I thought. Jungle juggernauts are a'ight, but they just aren't the same as proper vanguard tank junglers. Of course, I also haven't played in years, so if I were to come back to it fully, I might find myself a juggernaut jungler I'd like. Still, it makes me sad to know Sej lost her burst engage, cuz that really was one of the things that made her fun.
I really wish the old ultimate back for her. Yes it was very good but it was also a lot more fun! Tanks can have the issue of being a bit boring at times and not feel flashy to play. A 5man ult is exactly what a tank needs to be ”cool and fun” to play!
Also I think you forgot to mention this but they essentially keep Sejuani gutted because of proplay, since that’s where she has been strong ever since the rework and not in solo queue. I’m honestly thinking that the balance team is afraid of buffing her just because of proplay. And it makes me really sad.
I would love to see a quick series where you go over champs abilities, simple as that.
Lower her dammage and give her some healing, self healing or single target balance how you like, you could make it %max health, or missing health healing. This should help her tank against insane damage comming in. She can still be focused but it would be harder and then if she isn't focused then she could wreck shop.
Actually she can became a Raid Boss like Cho, insane unburstable GF for her passive during start of TF, immune to slow and can stuns for days, work a lot with others melee with high AS or simply with his BF Sett, stack E passive so easly
I would like to see a why no one plays for Maokai, specifically for his original role(s) top/jungle.
Out of the 3 dedicated tanks mentioned (Mao, Sej, Zac) Zac is the only one that got a (partial) revert, and is by far the most viable of the 3 in his traditional role. Sej was very well covered in this vid, and it would be nice to have some light shed on ol' treebeard. (and yes, i am also biased, since i *loved* the old maokai)
