For those wondering the piece should be published in the Economist (website/print) in December, probably around the 20th! It is about how lots of women are taking up DIY (and how some are posting about it on the internet).

Great host and teacher.. Hannah has a way of empowering people and making them feel capable of doing things.
She most certainly inspired me to do some painting that I didn’t have the courage to do, I got all the stuff and did the staircase landing which turned into doing all the doors, I now have the attitude of “ no harm in giving it a try” it’s so satisfying I’ve done all sorts, she’s an incredible woman for sure….

Watched you put together your pantry today. Then I put up shelving unit. I moved today. I'm 70, a social worker/psychologist from my 20's on. I have had lots of practice in what I call "getting back up". My friends, many from elementary school-high school daze (1960's), still stare & ask me: "how did you keep going?" You know what it is to get back up; it's a Choice. I will take all of the Awful shit & make great Stuff! Skills, coping & communication, always choose to dive down and find that fucking pony. Eight years ago my beautiful son died suddenly at 40 years of age. Undiagnosed malformation of the heart. My son Brian & I were so much alike that we honed our conflict resolutions skills like crazy sword makers. Today for the first time in 8.5 years I put together storage for my bathroom. Thank you Hannah for getting the fuck up and doing stuff. Bless your Heart.

Hannah, it was great to see you build something again. The pantry may have been underwhelming for you.. However, to watch it in progress to completion was very satisfying. You have skills, talents and youthful energy that I and probably many of your viewers no longer have.. Thank you, for slowing yourself down and prioritizing your home/pantry. Hannah, you did it! You reached 1 million!!! I have been watching your videos for YEARS, since the days of van life. I'm going to echo what some of the other commenters have said in that your videos help me set the tone for a good week ahead. They bring me comfort, warmth, and a feeling of strength; like if Hannah can do it, so can I. Tbh, I wish I lived near you so that we could be irl friends, as I'm sure we would be. We're around the same age, have so many common interests, and have a similar sense of humor. Watching your videos does feel like watching a friend live the beautiful life she's made for herself. i redid my pantry using beadboard for walls. I did industrial pipe for shelving with 2" boards for shelves. I also hung my cast iron pots and pans and copper pans inside with cast iron hooks.
I haven't watched this vid yet, but I was going to suggest using an old screen door for the doorway. I've seen it done before and it's so fun!

"You hang up first" 🥰 It's easy to get excited about even the most rudimentary pantries because none of us ever have enough room or organized storage in our kitchens, so we live vicariously through yours. This gave me some ideas about how to put shelving in a very awkward over-stairs pantry I have in my kitchen that I really need to fix.
You are so adorable, sounds weird but true. Plus you are good at everything, swim like a fish, dance, move like a model, skate, and sing! So enjoy watching you move through life and do your projects! Thank you for including us.
I kind of want to see you go to Costco and buy all the things to fill that up! Hey, don't forget to winterize your cottages this year. You will regret it if you don't!
YES!!!! Or just stock up on some basics to have on hand during a big storm or emergency situation.
A quick tip for riding when it’s cold! I saw someone put vinyl gloves under their riding gloves. It helps keep in the warmth and decreases the air flow through the gloves!
