Amberg Gewehr 98 Quick Overview

Quick overview of my 1918 dated Amberg Gewehr 98 bolt action rifle in 8x57.

I just picked on up at hole in the wall gun shop for cheap but it's missing the bolt. Found out my VZ24 bolt works in it but not sure if it would be safe to shoot? Any insight on that?

I would say no until getting it checked by a gunsmith due to headspacing with the bolt and chamber.
