    It took a Japanese guy to make me - a German having lived her whole live in Germany - realise that the plastic egg in the "Überraschungsei" is yellow because it is supposed to be the egg yolk! WOW! (Btw - love your tasting-german-snacks-videos!)

      wtf. i´ve never thought about that. i think he´s right. This makes so much sense. sometimes it took years to understand something so obvious. Like "Frucht-Tiger" (more fruity) or "verrücktes Labyrinth" (its crazy and you can shift the pieces)

      MrTurtL why are you so idiot, calling names to other ppl, if he/she want to say kawaii, what is wrong with that, are you offended as well cause japanese use a HUGE amount of english words as well? Americans "invented" that stupid word just to offend those who like japanese stuff, so what, is that a bad thing? Like I said, japanese ppl for example use a lot of english words, and is that bad? Americans will invent a word just to offend them as well cause they don't speak 100% japanese? You know they say chizu when they refer to cheese for example, oh and why they didn't use the japanese word for cheese instead of that adaptation of an english word? Getting so tired of all the idiots that I see everyday in yt saying fkn weaboos....

    The Woodruff (german: Waldmeister), also called Fragrant bedstraw, is a plant of the genus Galium. It grows mostly in deciduous forests in temperate latitudes of Eurasia. The most famous ingredient of Woodruff is coumarin.

    No wonder the both gentlemen wonder, that is the DENGLISH Phenomenon. Mixed German and English. That is a major influence these days in Germany. Love the Show, combined true language skill and politness. Still they mange it getting to the point. - Very enjoyable of you, both. YOU ROCK !! Will check your other shows as well. BRANDENBURG is a North German state. Name derivates from the Brenna Castle, once had been the center of the area in early medieval days. Nowdays there is downtown Berlin were the castle once had been.

    It was totally awesome watching you two trying out our daily snacks and typical German stuff. We laughed and always bet right, that you would enjoy the snacks!
    But, I have to mention, that these snacks were almost the best normal budget snacks available here. Of course there are some rare snacks hidden in the supermarket here and
    there and some regional differences, but the stuff you have tried is produced by the biggest brands here. :)
    Also, we were kind of surprised, when you pronounced some of the stuff so correctly! That was great! Especially Shinichi (hope it was the right name, I invested almost 30 minutes looking for the right name until I found Ai introducing Satoshi and you when you went eating Gyoza) pronounced Kartoffel so correctly that we thought he had some German lessons in his life before!
    Great video guys, maybe I will manage to send you some snacks soon too! :)

    The green drink is a fizzy kind of sherbet. The flavor is artificial woodruff flavor. The original, in my eyes, one and only brand features the sailor on every package. "Ahoi!" has the same meaning than "Ahoy!" in English. Kids love those kinda drinks =)

    • @TabiEats

  • @Luxbecca
    @Luxbecca 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't know if this has been answered yet, but I'm going to anyway :)
    The green powder bag for the drink, the Ahoi-Brause, has so called "Waldmeister" flavour. Waldmeister ruffly translates to 'Master of the Woods' or 'woodruff' and is a plant that grows in the forrests of Germany. In English it's called Galium odoratum I think.
    It has a very unique taste and is commonly used as a seasoning for dishes, or for sweets like the Ahoi-Brause or 'Götterspeise', which is a dessert here in Germany. But you can also just pick it up in the woods and eat it raw.
    I think Waldmeister grows in many other countries too, I think even in Japan ^-^

    • @TabiEats
      @TabiEats  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Navy Blue wow, we are intrigued about that spice. I personally would love to try it raw. Sounds awesome!

    • @boombaby1769
      @boombaby1769 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Certified Edgelord From what I know, Waldmeister is really quite a german thing. It may also grow in other countries, but the use of it in desserts and sweets and syrup is not so common outside Germany afaik. So it's like wintergreen, which has been super popular in the US for decades, but never really conquered any other markets.

      +TabiEats Uff ... we can't actually say since we enjoyed mostly all of it! The people ... the food ... the places ... everything was just so cool! Best food for me was actually some Katsudon Curry. My GF's favorite was fat marbled beef (which I have never seen here in germany). And yes we went back to Nakano on the next day. Sadly like the day before ... some shops were closed ... but it didn't bother us! I just think our most favorite spot was Akihabara ...haha

    Again nice vid. Though: in the past Kinder-Überraschungs-Ei was more interesting. You didnt have a simple toy in there, you had a toy made of up to like 10 parts and had to assemble the stuff according to a little sheet of paper telling you how to.
    As a 7 year old kid or such it took you some minutes to figure how to correctly build the toy. You felt like a little engineer after that experience.

      +Clanner666 wow I think we would have so much fun with those toys. We just had so much fun trying all the German treats out. We have three more packages to try so stay tuned!

    Wow, can't get over how Satoshi tried to say 'Kartoffelbrei' and 'Überraschung' (though the second is a really complicated word) XD It was great - funny and somewhat cute - but kudos for trying so hard. Shinichi your pronunciation of German is really pretty good! Seems the two of you need to move to Germany (or stay for an extended vacation) since you liked all the food so much.
