The game's particularly tricky about it because the first time you fight it, you HAVE to run or it'll just self-repair over and over. The second time and beyond, you can actually kill it.
actually FYI real fact. if you escape after spider robot does repairing, you will get 50AP. so make sure run after its does repair 1 times. do this 4 times, then you got massive 50x4 = 200AP...
That is not worth it. Running from the battles severely lowers your rank. Meanwhile, if you beat the robot, you get 100 extra points so you get a huge boost in rank. Rank matters more than AP. If you did the farming on balamb, the multiple 50 ap isn't even worth it. The items you get from beating the robot are though.
@@kevinburke1325 nahh, score doesn't matter. AP is more important for beginner. Score just impact seed level which we get as first time. There are so many web provide cheat sheet , therefore seed level can be increase easily..
From Wiki "defeat the robot in battle themselves, and doing so earns 100 bonus points in the SeeD exam report upon graduation" Also, you get Power wrist (Str 40%)
But it is the only source of force amulet in disc 1 so if you want to get all of the ultimate weapons bar exeter on disc 1 then you need to save scum kill this guy until he drops it, It's a 25% chance at the force amulet, If you don't mind cheats and playing the remaster then the speed x3 will make it trivially easy since it doesn't affect the in game timer
Will need to bound them to different keys unless you have a compatible controller. Your pc will still send the "L2" and "R2" signals to the game and it'll work just fine. Think of a reprogrammable TV remote or the equivalent app on your phone if you're too young to remember the former.
Kind of necro, but I play on emulator and the PS4 controller I usually use died, so I had to come up with keyboard bindings. Dropping them here for the reference of anyone who could benefit: I bind my WASD to D Pad and Left stick, Q and E to L2 and R2, 8 4 5 6 to Triangle Square X Circle, 7 and 9 to R1 and R2, F to Start, G to Select, and Z and X to L3 and R3. This has worked amazingly for all PS1 games thus far.

@@marchelh9820 he had to max out his GFs just to do that run. He literally gained nothing through earning those APs.
