You're saying gwt the AP once and run for the rest of them. In other words you’re saying don't farm AP from XATM092. Video is saying farming AP before you get Diablos is a waste because you'll just have to farm again when you could do all the GF at once (Shiva, Quetzal, Ifrit, and Diablos).
@@bothetaru4eva I wouldn't exactly call them lucrative lmao Easiest yes, if you hit them for 300 dmg they usually pop out and then carding them almost always works
Back in my day, just keep lv low, summon quezacoat to make them show up, then card it! After summoning quezacoat too many, its summon bar go extreme fast, it only 1 or 2 sec, and summon animation is not too slow. So basically, farming fish is as fast as farming mecha spider in my case!
You're wrong about Quezacoatl being slow. I was using x3 and Quezacoatl. I managed to "defeat" this 10 times during the mission for 50AP each time. Just cast Quezacoatl 3 times each battle then escaped after the 3rd cast (when repair is at 40%) job done. Just keep running back into him after you exit the battles. 1 or 2 screens do force you to the next screen after the fights though.
If you have tornado + STR 20% + STR 40% + thundaga on elemental attack Squall does 2700 - 3100 with a single attack. That ways just need 3 attacks from Squall to set machine down, make it self repaired and set it down again and run. That's the fastest way to farm unlimited 50 AP
@@davidwilson6577 it's actually more like Quetzalcoatl, but the spelling is messed up at least in part due to the original game's character limit. Respectfully disagree regards to skipping AP farming before Diablos. A level 30 party can draw holy and flare (I think?) from Diablos so your gfs will be getting some levels and ap then BUT if you're into stat maxing you definitely want to have Magic Bonus from Siren for an easy 20 plus permanent points to your magic stat for each of party members.
A level 30 party fights a level 30 Diablos, and Quake (refined from T-Rexaur and Armadodo cards available in Balamb) can carry you through the game until you get to Odin who has triples regardless of level, which is some of the strongest junction magic in the game. Not leveling at all is the way to go. At the end of the game you'll have Bahamut's 4xAbility and other GF's Bonus abilities, so you can level everyone perfectly. Or just smash right through Ultimecia's at low level, though that is a lot more difficult.
@Vegesther At that point why bother grinding at all? Just cheat. You can get 1 spell and turn it into 100, you can get the best weapons, GF abilities etc. Hold LT and press L3.
much easyer to do with dubble thunder and you dont need any extra farming tornados or anything, allso use selpies limit x3 meteor or x2/3 ultima easy peacy...
@Omega Jew yes, but he also mentioned that the AP is not worth it due to the fact that later, after the mission, you can get Diablos, the 5th GF, who will have no abilities learned in comparison to the other 4
Prefer to save the ap farming until you get ragnarok, when you get it, just fly to the cactuar island and slay some cactuars, they give minimal exp and 20 ap per kill
Fiko 1095 you can also do it with Balamb garden at disc 2. No need to go to cactuar island, just go east of the centra tower(where you get odin), there will be a beach there that you can land the garden, have enc-half/none, walk towards the location of cactuar island, once you get to the edge(you'll have water between you and the island), just run on the edge back and forth and the game will think you are on cactuar island and will repeatedly only give you cactuar encounters.
It's confirmed era I can do get stain thank you Erica or tornado I'm not sure how to do that short of card refining and I don't know how to get the cards necessary to refine especially since I try to end that mission with Squall at level 10 or lower. The method I use for a phone me hum was double and each of the characters would cast and Erica twice on him usually within three rounds he's dead. So I do have a question for you if you completely destroy / defeat the spider bite how does that affect the missile scene? As I recall the missile base was going to explode and your three characters were in danger of being trapped but they escaped in the broken down spider bot
I haven't used Squall for this, Zell is far more useful to deal a lot more damage with Ring Master. I kill it at the second battle with a few Ring Master ;).
Farming AP early is a waste as you need to repeat each time you get a new GF, but you want to make sure to get all the card and refining skills asap up to diablos, plus the junction skills and mug.
seems like a waste in my opinion tbh, its much better to farm ruby dragons or t-rexaurs as it doesnt take nearly as much as it does to farm this thing (much easier tho idk about faster). if you could find him later i might do it then but as far as i know you cant. for low level runs just use the card ability as normal and you can farm later game gfs unlike this one, this one only grinds first three and takes too much
Why Quetzacotl, when you can junction tornado to magic and double thundaga him a couple times? It does use up a bunch of thundaga casts, but it's a hell of a lot faster than summoning the GF.

I think the only way to lose points from not destroying it early is if you fail to talk to the dog to save it. Well also if you fail to dodge the robot and escape multiple times.
@Akina Mori
"Depending on your weapon and character str/magic stats, you'll be able to finish the quest in just under 5 mins."
As Ekitchi Hoshi said you must be at the beach in 5 minutes, and beating X-ATM092 within this time frame too is more like theory, not to forget the random encounters in the comm tower and after beating it. You can do it via cheating (speeding up in remake), other than that there are even guides for how to maybe pull it off, including mad rush, but yeah. Not a single video on it, it´s theory, I read someone who made it with savestates due to the encounters. But you´ll still get Seed rank 10 due to the bonus points for destroying it (if you made no mistakes in other places), even if you have 20+ minutes left.
If you say you can do it - upload a video on it, I´d like to see how you managed it (whithout turned up speed). Cheers
If there's 3 or 4 cactuars you get 60AP or 80AP. Cactuar Island is op
If you do 100 tornados on str.. And level up to like 15. And use strength +20 and +40 from first. I just 1 shot him with a regular attack. I maxed all my gf stuff with 20 minutes left on the extra speed version
I find just spamming attacks with the j-element attack thungara goes faster due to the limit scenes. I maxed all four GF skills/stats in 20 mins.
Don’t they learn more skills when they level up?
@@amaterasu_xo there are things like Ifrit's Strength Bonus that only shows up once you learn Strength +20% and +40%, and other things like the Card Mod ability that only show up once you learn the Card command.
1:36 if you start running as soon as the scene loads, you can get past without fighting this battle.
kingbeef Yes it is
I can't wait to play this game. I'm playing Nier Automata right now and am trying to rush through it. Problem being I'm watching all your damn videos instead of playing.
Don't rush xD nier deserves more
The tower before you encounter this boss was actually reminding me of a part from nier automata haha
Heeeeeey it really works! Doing this on the FF8 Steam Version in 2024. You can farm him even if you have sub par junction and skills (like myself)
Yeah Simon i unfortunately don't have elem atk junction yet i do have tornado 100 on strength mind you
I will follow you for all things FF related
You can get 50AP from the very first encounter
James Goss you can escape without getting the AP
@@nonaes That's right. But the video said you can't get 50AP from the first fight. You can. You just can't destroy it. You have to escape that first fight only.
@@jamesgoss1860 Yes, I just did :)
Currently have Punishment Thundaga juctioned to elem damage, tornado on strength
I killed X-ATM092 before the bridge at the place of Anacondaur i got a Hypno Crown
I plan on starting it after i finish FFVII. Thank you for the upload!
By this point I had Squall with Twin Lances and Thundega, I was doing nearly 2k damages with a regular hits.
Yeah I got flare and the strength +20 40 I do around 6500 damage to a Trex with blizzaga attached
@Ze TheGame do you think I can beat the xatmo92 without using limit breaks? I have 137 Strength the punishment blade and thundaga
I love your videos, and you've pretty much singly-handedly explained to me that I've wasted the last three days on my current save, and I appreciate you for that. That being said, I thought you were saying false omelet for the first few times you said it
I think I'm gonna have to start this game over since I didnt know about limit break
It gave me 50 AP points but you have to defeat him so you have to make him kneel twice to get the AP was easy for me when you first see him
To rebalance ff8 mod the limit ratio to be inverted.
You can only use limits at max hp not low hp.
Great idea. And make magic more powerful and physical less powerful.
Yo where's the link that shows me how to overpower my characters in ff8? It's not in the video description as promised or am I just blind?
Question.. Can you farm him after this mission is completed?
Nope
lewis damn it, can you at least acquire the drops later in the game ?
Yes
you make the best walkthroughs 😭
Im lv 50 first disc ... what should i farm to get all magics? My gfs are all lv 70s.. what to do and not to do on first disc?
Probably too late but lvling up in disc 1 is not a good idea, only good early/midgame moments to lvl up is when you get an opportunity to not have Squall in the party so that other characters catch up kupo
BTW Quezacotl is NOT pronounced as its spelled. Its Quezacot. The L is silent. It comes from the Aztec god quetzalcoatl.
When i first played this on early 20s i always pronounced the name as quezacolt upto when remastered came, so what i did is change its name to quezacolt. :D
Yep, but because of that missing A I'm going to call it Ket-zah-cottle. We're not in South America anymore, Dorothy.
@@davidwilson6577 The A has nothing to do with the fact that the L is silent. Mispronounce things all you want though. Do you pronounce the word Knife like Ka-nife too lol
@@moviemanreviews5577 No, but as an English speaker I'm familiar with silent Ks before Ns. That's a particularly bad example because 'Knif' would be interpreted as 'Nif'. Silent Ls after consonants are not a common feature of English words and Quetzecotl is not Quetzecoatl. Blame Square for their misspelling and the English language combined with a (very understandable) lack of common knowledge of Aztec pronunciation.
@@davidwilson6577 Square didn't use the full spelling bc of a lack of space and in fact they did a pretty good job of making it work. It's just that ppl don't know the L is silent and while having a lack of knowledge is understandable, insisting on staying ignorant is not. Next time someone accurately corrects a mistake instead of making up excuses just accept it and move on.
Hey Fuzz. Started a playthrough and I just had the first encounter with the Spider. I managed to get 100 Shells of Magic and just continued hitting him with squall normal attack. Once I got my 100 magic I escaped and got the 50 AP. I think you said in the video you couldn’t get the AP on the first fight, it’s true that you can’t kill him on the first battle. I though I should share this with you. Thanks for the help!
Does it work on psp version?
Speaking of X-ATM092 killing the dog, i cant find that anywhere on TH-cam i know its morbid but i, dont remember that ever being a thing, even TH-cam does not have that footage, and i cant be bothered replaying Dollet Mission to find out, as I'm past that point in the game already!
i do speedrun of this game and its not a waste at all. And yes u can get 50 ap the 1st time u fight him. Thats what i do after that ur fine and run the rest.
You get 50 AP each time you defeat it
You're saying gwt the AP once and run for the rest of them. In other words you’re saying don't farm AP from XATM092. Video is saying farming AP before you get Diablos is a waste because you'll just have to farm again when you could do all the GF at once (Shiva, Quetzal, Ifrit, and Diablos).
If you defeat this thing does it change the ending cutscene?
Yes. If you destroy the robot spider, you don't get the cutscene with Quistis obliterating it on the beach.
I tried beating this 100s of time and it never works time just runs out
So if you don't grind here or the fish on the beach where else would you farm then?
Get a character with high MAJ stat and card the fish (easier in 2 form).
@@Flobbidibob so the robot spider and the fish are the only lucrative AP farm points?
@@bothetaru4eva I wouldn't exactly call them lucrative lmao
Easiest yes, if you hit them for 300 dmg they usually pop out and then carding them almost always works
@@nguyenhuyduc9151 I thought queza would do enough dmg to kill them so I never tried that but faire enough, whatever works Ig
Do you get any special items or trophies for beating it?
It drops one of four items but no trophies.
Thanks mate 👍🏻 great content aswell
I believe it CAN drop an item for one of Quistis Blue Magic. It might teach her Ray-Bomb, or something similar.
3 Quetzecotl (notice the missing a) takes a very long time. Just slap him. But also don't bother.
@@davidwilson6577 wrong. 3 summons only takes less than a minute
@@Rickai85 Well. That's me told.
I wouldn't worry about spelling, but if you want to be culturally correct the pronunciation is like "ket-zuhl-ko-ah-tuhl." If you're at least close that you're doing good. I used to say "kwezacolt" lol.
@Vegesther Yeah but why bother leveling at all?
@Vegesther At that point why bother grinding at all? Just cheat. You can get 1 spell and turn it into 100, you can get the best weapons, GF abilities etc.
Hold LT and press L3.
@Vegesther OK. I don't care about advice on how to play the game that includes cheating tbh.
much easyer to do with dubble thunder and you dont need any extra farming tornados or anything, allso use selpies limit x3 meteor or x2/3 ultima easy peacy...
You CAN get the 50AP of the first fight. I did it today
I couldn't get it to work
If you can keep track of 5000 hp you can know when to run.
I don't get why farming "isn't worth it".
Surely it just means there's less farming for these GFs later and it gives a head start on other abilities?
@Omega Jew yes, but he also mentioned that the AP is not worth it due to the fact that later, after the mission, you can get Diablos, the 5th GF, who will have no abilities learned in comparison to the other 4
What's AP again?
Ability points. Used in teaching a GF abilities
I tried this method but my guardian forces were level 100 due to Seifer leveling. Spider boss had no shot surviving.
The force Omelit.
BOOYAH!
Farming AP early is a waste as you need to repeat each time you get a new GF, but you want to make sure to get all the card and refining skills asap up to diablos, plus the junction skills and mug.
You forgot the SeeD rank bonus.
seems like a waste in my opinion tbh, its much better to farm ruby dragons or t-rexaurs as it doesnt take nearly as much as it does to farm this thing (much easier tho idk about faster). if you could find him later i might do it then but as far as i know you cant. for low level runs just use the card ability as normal and you can farm later game gfs unlike this one, this one only grinds first three and takes too much
i char boosting into magic and using trippel or doppel thundaga on it is insane gd dmg too and animation is basicly same time as limmitbreak
Why Quetzacotl, when you can junction tornado to magic and double thundaga him a couple times? It does use up a bunch of thundaga casts, but it's a hell of a lot faster than summoning the GF.
Really does this have to be 11 minutes long
I'm still waiting for the update patch to fix the busted ps4 version before i buy. The bug where some of the female characters have extra clothing appear. So much for quality control.
i never liked any ff remasters. in x they changed the faces of the characters for the worse for some reason and there were glitches not present in the ps2 version and with the zodiac age they completely removed the challenge from the game that was my favorite thing about the original. they always find a way to ruin ff remasters for me, i prefer the originals over any of the remasters for all ff games, they just can't seem to get a remaster right imo.
As long as it's optional i LOVE being able to breaking jrpgs. I remember finishing ffxii when it came out on ps2. Once i farmed 3 seitengrat on ps4 version i just lost interest & stopped playing lol. The censorship stuff is getting ridiculous though. I wasn't too concerned with the alterations to Dragon quest 8 but i should have seen where this was headed. I guess Sony don't consider FFVIII a piece of 'high art' like ghostbusters 2016.
Favorite GF is Doomtrain
Disagree, this farming will max out 4 GF.
Escape will affect the evaluation of the SEED mission,The correct way is to break the BOSS after the first escape!
Who evev cares about seed rank lol, you can do the exams anyway
@@mxttia_fraa perfect playthrough bragging rights is all, I agree with OP though. Correct way is to run 1x mandatory time then kill for 50AP a pop. This worked great for my current no level run to teach card/cardmod very early. You should always get Ifrit to level 10 with seifer in dollet to unlock ammo-rf for lionheart disc 1 while you're there too.
Ah, so in order to defeat him:
10 Bring him down
20 Get him to get up before he repairs himself by hitting him
30 goto 10
But _not_ at the first encounter.
Right?
... I dont wanna say but this is really a stupid idea. u exchange 150 ap with 10str 10 vit 10magic and 10 spr... And some spot in magic table.
with x3 spd, u can easy farm unlimited ap without lv up...just farm fish with quazecot and diablos.
That will level you up. It's best to immediately farm the fish for Card, which you can do without leveling, then use card on them to farm for Card Mod and the other refine abilities available. At that point you're basically ready for everything in the game and you haven't leveled once.
Quazecolt then diablos and card... That the process, and the best char u can use is sephie.
@@hoathanhngohoanh9628 Why wait for Diablos?
David Wilson diablos will not kill the monsters just reduce them by percentage, usually if u dont lv up or learn gfmagic up, use 1 quazecolt then use diablos 99% u can card the fish, reduce the chance u accidental kill the mobs.
@@hoathanhngohoanh9628 fair enough. I would just smack 'em twice and card, works a charm.
TOM BRADY AND the buccaneers
You can use the safe editor. You can choose how many ap u want, so u don't have to grind.
@Nathanial Fambrough I finished the game back in the day. Back than I had time, now I don't have time, I don't speed up the game like you can in the standard cheat option guz I want to enjoy the full story. 🙂
Just put squall on auto trigger 🥴
He does far less damage with autotrigger
killed this piece of shit in 3 battles it used to take 6 on ps1 version
this doesnt actually work in the remaster i just spent over an hour trying to farm the 50AP and kill the boss and both were removed from the remaster
you can not get AP from the spiderbot and it cant die anymore i spent over an hour just beating it letting it repair and beating it again in every single frame the spiderbot attacks you in
Not true, did it right now
Literally just farmed AP from this boss yesterday. Totally still possible.
Any kind of grinding or farming in this game seems a waste to me. Aside from a few crucial skills best obtained quickly, grinding just breaks this game to pieces. As long as you draw consistently and use your GFs in battle frequently, this game is an easy breeze. Good videos though. The more FF content, the better the internet will be.
It’s only profitable really once you are late game and have the bonus abilities that give extra points on level up. It’s even weirder in the sense that as I recently played through the remaster, that a lot of really good drops for ultimate weapons are more common when enemies are lower leveled
I mean . It's still nice to have the guides
@@shakester331 You can farm and grind up easily, very early in the game if you know where to get what. That means it isn't only worthwhile to grind later on. You can coast through most of this game if you grind early and grind right. It's not a bad thing, I love this game.
@@leadbones yeah but if you really want the most out of it and are aiming for the perfect game. Then it actually is better and easier late game once you have most of the gfs. Plus ff8 is not a hard game.
I framed the crap out of it then killed it
I hate squall latest design... I like his original look
Thundaga and tornado? On the the seed test? Oh pc cheat, can't play with modifying the game. ok...block channel🤬
4 goals to break this game and call yourself ff8 completionist:
Keep characters so low you can max stats to 255 each/ as high as possible
Max stats and every stat junction unlocked
Beat Ultima and Omega Weapon without invulnerability option
Every character got at least 2 GF and every stat junction unlocked as well as Abilityx4 and all the strongest spells.
Cheat? U can't have that HP and damage this early game 😂
If you play the card game you can get some monsterously good cards which using Quet's Card Mod ability to refine the cards you can get items which you can then use other Refine abilities to get some really powerful spells (Such as Tornado from refining some worm cards into windmills into Tornado). You can also get Squall's second strongest weapon before the test too, and his most powerful one on Disc 1 (Only Irvine's final weapon cannot be claimed on Disc 1).
As I play through the remaster, this game started to lose the charm for me. I found myself putting more effort and more time resetting for the card game. You can get so many good abilities and items so early and consistently that i have no reason to fight and that makes me frustrated. I didn’t buy this game to spend more time finagling card rules then actually in fights
