    Good to see you are still at it Mr fox, I been following your work since the m18x R2. I still have my m18x, my 675m's finally went out (01/2020) Lookin to finally upgrade to the 980m. I will follow your process.

    • @MrFoxRox
      @MrFoxRox  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome. Thank you for your support. Sorry to hear your 675M cards failed. You got a lot of use out of them. You might be able to go with an MSI 1070. I think there are some examples in the threads at NBR Forum where some have done that. This might work better than 980M.

    • @mbrooker79

      I still have my M18x R2 running and now it’s got a 1070 thanks to the helpful guys at NBR. Be careful with trying dual 980M’s as you will probably run into some throttling issues. Go for a single 980M, 1060 or 1070.

      @@MrFoxRox Yeah, pretty new. And pricey. But I love them. The new ones actually are nicer but older ones will do until next build. MrFoxRox I have not used any of my PC’s for over 10 hrs in total the last 12+ months. I use my mobile devices to get 90% of what I need to do, done. Working an average of 60+ hrs per week, gym 6 days a week 2 hrs a day and church on Sundays. Not complaining, there are seasons for everything I’m grateful to be as busy as I am as it keeps me productive. I do miss the leisure of forums, and gaming but I’m sure that season will come back at some point as well. Trying to concentrate on finding a prospect (very marriage mindful) but we’ll see what God does and what His will is. :) Keep your head up brother fox! I’ll be sure to reach out when I do my next desktop build, I trust no one with computer advice as much as I do you.

    Awesome video and setup brother. As an owner of two of these (360 and 420) MO-RA3's, I absolutely love them. An advantage of these versus other radiator solutions is that you can run the loop with the fans operating at low speeds or not at all if you run the CPU at stock (all depending on your ambient temps - that 75 degrees of yours scares me - my ambient is 30 to 40 degrees). That is a huge plus for people who complain about noise but then again, I run my fans at full speed no matter what. Hahaha.

    • @MrFoxRox
      @MrFoxRox  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Brother Frank. I can certainly see why you're a fan of these rads. They're pretty amazing. The ambient temps here scare me, too. And, this is the 'coldest' time of year. Summer ambient temps are beyond ludicrous.

    I own a MORA-3 since 2018. In my case everything fits very well. There was no need to drill anything.
    I am only using nine fans (from Noctua) in push configuration, a DIY fabric cover to keep the dust outside and a Noctua Na-FC1 to be able to control the fan speed.
    Yes, true. it was a pain in the a ... to connect the fans to finally one connector.

    • @MrFoxRox
      @MrFoxRox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes no doubt that would be true. The problem is that I live in a super dusty area and the radiator fins and fans would be constantly getting filthy and hard to keep clean. That would end up causing similar decreases in thermal effectiveness. So kind of six and one half dozen of the other. Having the filter makes it easier to maintain even though it has a small effect on the airflow .

      This is really quiet and benefits from using low RPM fans. I use the XSPC 1650 RPM fans. They're around 65 CFM, good static pressure and are not loud even running full blast. They move a lot of air. And, they are about $5 each from Performance-PCS.com so you can't beat them. I'd say they are my favorite fans.

    Been thinking of buying one of these for my Threadripper multi GPU build. What quick disconnects do you recommend? Thanks!!!

    • @MrFoxRox
      @MrFoxRox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Yes it's a great radiator and I'm very happy with it. I would say that it is probably my best PC component investment second only to the water chiller. I use Koolance QD3 quick connects and install a ball valve on the female half. It works out extra-nicely if you buy the female half with G1/4 threads rather than a tubing compression fitting. The male half has never stuck open on me before. Sometimes the female half will stick, but having the ball valve attached to it makes that a non-issue. A paper towel is more than adequate to catch a minor drip with the ball valve shut.
