hi, I been thinking to get those heated grips after a failure experience with the Honda heated grips installed by the dealer (very expensive and not recommended at all). I'm gonna wait until We are closer to winter temperatures or below 30 degrees. Thx for your video, I will follow you for more videos to come ✌
The Oxford grips are excellent, and I have run them on many bikes. They are the only correct choice, and have a few options for grip style. I prefer the Touring model.
@@redhenracing2 they would work for about 5 seconds then an error code would pop. They claimed they were defective but I believe when they ran the cables. They got pinched. A TH-cam friend mentioned to be really careful on tiecable them or not to bend the cable too much.
What’d you think of the smaller windshield? Did you take it on the interstate at all? I was thinking about getting a batwing for mine off the bat. I want to take a xc next summer.
Almost all of my mileage is highway, and I've done a bout 2500 with this windshield in place. I have decided that this one is a purely aesthetic choice, and provides basically zero wind protection. I still like the style of it, and I don't mind some wind pressure to take weight off of the wrists, but as large as my front surface area is, I find myself getting pushed back and almost having to hang on to the bars at anything over 60. It does generate some fatigue after an hour or two. For a lot of highway time, I'd definitely go with something bigger than this one.
It's by Puig, and it's a great option if you mostly are going for aesthetics instead of actual wind protection. It provides almost none. The fit and finish are excellent, and I now have a little storage bag between it and the gauges for putting "pocket stuff" in, so I'm very happy with it.
And I just realized, you did exactly what I did to remove the stock 22' onward soft metal exhaust "gasket"... Hammer and chisel. I feel better about going cave man on it now.
heeeey, what up buddy. I just ordered the same heated grip you have and the super glue you used as well LOL. I got a few questions. Tips from a track rat: One way we lock down non-stock grips onto the bars/clip-ons is using lockwire. Advance and O'Reilly's both have lockwire kits if you don't happen to have your own (which I highly doubt). 2 strands, one at the base of the grip and one at the end. I personally double-twist mine to give it a bit more rigidity, and aim to have the excess point off the grip in the down-and-back position (4-oclock on the clutch side and 8-oclock on the throttle side when looking straight down the tube), that way the pointy bits of the leftovers are in a spot that your hand never touches anyways.
Lockwire . . . never heard that one but it sounds like it works. These heated grips are a lot firmer and not bendy like normal grips, so I don't know if it would work on them
