I love how all the female bees have beehive hairstyles, and all the males have buzz cuts. That's freaking genius. This movie is downright insane at times, but the nostalgia and meme value make it very enjoyable!
Oh my god, that completely flew over my head.
Like a bee.
Wow I can't beelieve I didn't see that. That is so much bee s
This movie has a really nice lesson: when you feel your life sucks, always remember that a man was replaced for a bee by his girlfriend
Maturing is realizing that Ken was the only sane person in this movie
"Ya like jazz?" Has turned into a meme over the years😂
True 😂
The entire script is a meme.
@@demo2823I agree.
And a vine(still love the one where a bee is randomly crushed in a window as the line is said.)
Yesterday and Saturday, me and my cousin went crazy with that line.
Definitely one of the most weird movies I've seen, but I can't help but get some enjoyment out of it. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking. I didn't get the Larry King joke as a kid, even though it was flat out obvious. Now I think it's the funniest joke in the whole movie. An unBEElivably underrated movie, in my opinion.
Beehave yourself with that pun
Eh, I don't think it's underrated, maybe just overhated.
Most people know about it, but it gets a lot of hate just for being a fever-dream movie, even though Shark tale doesn't.
This movie was all the buzz when it came out in theatres.
Ken is the realest character tbh
A lot of people think this movie is either cringie or random but i freaking love it, i grew up watching all the Dreamworks films and this one was always one of my faves
Agreed. It was my second DreamWorks movie ever, after Shark Tale
Poor girl loses it at 11:10 even I thought the same 🤣
same
This movie was just a bad joke told by Seinfeld to Spielberg over lunch. Spielberg liked the idea and they made this gem of a movie. The joke: We should make a "B" movie (bad movie) and actually use bees.
Years later… I still haven’t recovered those lost brain cells from watching this movie.
"So, Mr. Sting thank you for being here."
Sophie: "Is that Neil Patrick Harris?"
.....No, it's Sting. Did you not hear him!?
it's more fun, knowing that the whole movie was meant to be a B Movie, like Sharknado, but in an animated form and talking about bees, so a BEE Movie
I love how animated movies back in the days are able to go wild and creative, without being bound to too much common sense, which makes these movies so fun and iconic.
It's kinda freaky how all the bees around the world started systemically dying off just a few years after this movie came out.
Imagine sitting down with someone and randomly and casually bringing up in conversation, "Yeah, I'm planning on suing the human race with a bee that I met and fell in love with after only a few weeks."
@ 4:35 I think they do, the honey is the reason bee colonies can live through winter while in case of the wasps, all but the queen die which hibernates the winter.
Its a classic that CAN'T*be* matched and honest to Zeus you CANNOT overthink it. You just have to go with the crazy
I saw this at the movie theater as a kid when it came out and I was a very naive 7 year old. As an adult I owe Ken an apology since he was the only plain person in the movie. Most of the law stuff wasn’t even legal or possible. You gotta watch this lawyer who reacts to bee movie and you’ll definitely agree to what he says.
Ken's the best character in the film precisely because he's the only one who sees how totally bonkers everything is. Well that, and Patrick Warburton's performance resulting in him getting most of the film's funniest lines ("FINE! Talking bees, no yogurt night, my nerves are FRIED from riding on this EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER!")
Bees do not have lungs, therefore them coughing in here is not scientifically accurate. For another, all the smoke actually does is mask their sense of smell and trick them into thinking there's a fire, during which they eat their own honey to relax.
Another big thing here is that no self respecting beekeeper would ever use something like tar or nicotine in their smokers. It irritates bees something horrible. Best smoker fuel is all natural stuff like pine needles, dried citrus peel, and any dried herbs you can get your hands on.
They'd also never flood them with smoke like that either. If you're doing your job right, all you need is a few puffs, one when opening the box to let them know you're there, then a few more to do what you need to do.
If Barry was smart, he'd have sued the one farm for gross negligence.
Bees don't have lungs? Very interesting. If they don't, then how do they breathe?
@@kittycatmeowmeow963 holes in the body called 'spiracles'.
Ahhh the bee movie, the meme goldmine. I remember when the entire script in tiny font was the the most popular one. The internet is home to some nasty stuff, but the memes? The memes are wonderful and innovative 😂
Gotta love that Ken was the most sane guy in the whole movie but we act like he’s a villain. He wasn’t about to be cucked by an insect
Imagine getting dumped by your GF over a bee. A literal insect stole your woman. 😂
Your reaction of utter concern and confusion was WAY TOO AMUSING! Loved this reaction to bits lol
Imagine if Bug’s Life and Ants were courtroom films 😂
😂 would be funny to watch
"What the fuck was this _movie?"_ Yeah, that sounds about right.
I'm convinced that watching this movie while drunk, high or whatever (probably a combo of those) would make it less weird...
As for the legal segment of the movie, many people on TH-cam have covered and analysed it...
Bees fly because they shake their wings so fast that we can’t see them and by doing so, that’s how they do the buzz sound
It blew my mind when I found out that John Goodman and Patrick Warburton were in this movie
You know what, sometimes I'm really glad that I'm ace because somehow I misread the relationship between Barry and Vanessa as purely platonic as a kid. Being partially blind to romance can be useful sometimes.
Same lol, no wonder I realized later I’m aroace
Fun fact about the random ant tattoo comment, because this movie should at least be a learning experience if anything else. Ants and Bees are both descendants of wasps. Not exactly the modern wasp, but slightly older wasps. If (for some reason) you've ever looked closely at a wasp, bee and ant you'll see the similarities! So ant tattoo is I suppose like suggesting you get an orangutang tattoo?
"I don't get the spider thing"
Me saying nothing because I had a thing for Charlotte in Charlotte's Web as a kid.....
I like how 10 year old me thought this was just a normal kids movie and was like “Oh Renee Zellweger is in this one! Nice :)”
I use to be able to quote the whole movie script 🐝 😂
I heard one of the original endings for the movie was that Barry was going into the deepest of space and never be seen again. I’m not kidding.
Welcome to the group of people that lost brain cells after watching this movie
This is my first time rewatching it in a while so I guess I lost more haha
It actually Larry King voicing Bee King 😆
The "bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly" statement comes from applying humanity's observation of physics to an insect. But the thing is when you're a hundred times smaller and a thousand times lighter, physics work a little differently. Air molecules are proportionately more massive and dense relative to a bee, so when you're at this scale the physics of flying is less like a plane and more like a rowboat.
Yeah, it hurt my brain too when I learned about that one.
That, and they flap their wings like hummingbirds, not up and down, but side to side like helicopters, which is how they hover.
I haven’t seen this movie before so I’m glad that you’re reacting to this movie! 🐝
Imagine if you just got into a car crash and they rush you straight to the hospital, but the last bed has been taken by a bee that doesn’t even occupy 1% of the space
Right after the SEINFELD TV show ended and Jerry Seinfeld was a hot ticket in Hollywood he met with Steven Spielberg at his home for an evening. And Spielberg told him to pitch anythng and he'd make a movie about it. Seinfeld said "well how about a b-movie featuring real bees?" And Spielberg I've heard said, "Done." Or something to that effect.
Does that help it make better sense?
And then in one of the trailers, Steven Spielberg gave Jerry Seinfeld the recommendation of turning it into an animated film after the live action version wasn't going very well.
yeeeyyy im waiting so much for a new video xD. I'm currently watching your videos very often. somehow you help me through the day. thank you ^^
The reason why farmed bees stay in the beehives that humans build for them is because the farm hives are safer and sturdier.
The bees are free to move away and build a new nest somewhere else any time they want, they simply choose not to.
This movie is nothing more than trying to copy the Chicken Run formula.
Only for that part. I don't remember the chickens suing the human race for chicken and chicken egg consumption.
@@magical_pixie_horse7346 you're making my point
@@videohistory722
How? Chicken run is literally just about escaping the farm. Bee movie takes it several steps further and even has the main character unaware of the plight in the first place. He helps them, but ruins the planet in the process and puts things back to normal. Nowhere near similar to Chicken Run outside of the bee farms. How is this making your point?
After Spider-Man Across the Spider-verse, Tangled, The Incredibles, Moana, Puss in Boots 2 and a lot of other bad movies.... She FINALLY decided to watch what we can call : Greatest of all time, Zenith of the medium, Gold standard of storytelling, Apogee of creativity, Vertex of invention, Pinnacle of innovation, Epic of epics, Legend among legends, Acme of imagination, PEAK FICTION !!!
You have a list of wonderful movies here and say that they're terrible. But you think this weird, horrible movie is the best movie ever? Please tell me you're joking.
@@kittycatmeowmeow963 OF COURSE I was joking 💀💀💀
Bees flap their wings the same way hummingbirds do, that allows them to fly without breaking the rules of aviation. I don't know why people didn't figure this out when smartphones became more common
Bees are one of the most intelligent insects and are capable of playing around........and they live for a little over a month.
This movie was always on in the hospital lobby when I went in for checkups I maybe actually watched it like once or twice, its a fever dream 😂
ken sounds like joe from family guy
Come to think of it, I loved this movie a lot when I was a child and now rewatching it with you. I get the weirdness 😭
Sophie: "We're going to check out this movie for the very first time."
Actually, Sophie, do you remember that, when watching 'A Bug's Life', you said that you remembered a scene about an insect that was about to be stepped on by a boot? It was actually the scene where Ken was about to squash Barry and Vanessa saved Barry by placing a glass on top of him. So you might have already seen this movie before.
maybe she was talking about Antz, no?
@@lepurplecl0ud Maybe, but the boot thing also happens in this movie. Around the 21-minute mark of this movie.
@@patriciomejia1114 yes I remember
@@lepurplecl0ud Mind you, it could have also happened in Antz, but I haven't seen that movie, so I wouldn't know.
@@patriciomejia1114 well, the insect was stepped on by a boot, but he didn't die and, like, the human didn't even see the insect
If I had a nickel for every animated movie about insects ever produced, I'd have 5 nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's still more than two.
I agree with Vanessa that all life has value especially bees 🐝 so we should be fair to bees 🐝
Your reaction at 11:10 made me laugh so suddenly that I popped a joint in my jaw. No one is ever ready for The Bee Movie...
This woman really left her husband for a bee
I think it was her fiance or BF but lmao 😂 that would suck. Imagine having the conversation of how you got dumped.
23:53-24:07
Sounds like something out of Spec Ops: The Line!😂
Best part about this movie: Patrick Warburton.
@@kronk2.094No I don’t.
Sophie you are the funniest person I known I am subscribe have a great day
This movie is weird...In the best way possible XD The humor and plot is both ridiculous and hilarious
8:52 Yup, there we go! I feel like Sophie's gonna lose her crap at this 🤣🤣
And at 11:09 she loses it 😂
Sounds like the movie relies heavily on jerry steinfeld’s comedy… may be for a specific kind of audience. The flying animation looks GREAT though!
Bee movie and Shark tale give off the same vibes ngl
Weird humanoid animals that appear like fever dreams
you could watch Maya the Bee!! Also related to bees, but incredibly adorable dmfbdkdmsk my childhood movie fr
loved the video btw!!!
Not the "Flash" reference on 4:52 😭
Love that show and still didn't watch the final season ⚡
lol, I remember watching this in school 😂 it seemed perfectly reasonable back then
yayyy, i missed you!
@1:29 Actually this is a myth. The flight of the bees are totally justified by the laws of aviation, it's just that once a scientist mistakenly modeled bees' flight after birds and planes while in reality, the fly more like helicopters, they flap their wings extremely fast compared to birds and thus generate lift.
The intro tho 😂😂 I watched it a few times lol
7:30-7:38
You've never smelled a tennis ball fresh from the can?!
I watched this when it first came out in the theaters, and I don't remember a thing about it. All I know was that I liked it.
The Alabama joke had me rolling on the floor laughing and I'm from Alabama
Thanks for the video Sophie! :)
it's crazy how this was my fav movie when I was a kid cause I didn't understand anything about it
Yeah How you like smell of flames 😂😂😂😂😂.
I watched this movie growing up but GOD it’s such a weird plot line to have the romance plotline
Yeah this movie is very interesting and it's funny as well kinda hard to bee focused with all the weird stuff in this movie
How do movies like this even get made. It blows my mind humans made this thing. What have we become
I know i'm super late, but i have always wondered since seeing this movie if Vanessa is going to regret all of this when Barry dies of old age after like a month, if she does then i hope Ken doesn't take her back, because well she did leave him...for a bee.
bees are one of the most important animals to humans only becuse we would lose about 80 precent of are food if they were not around
My sister and I saw this at the cinema, and we were like 🤨🤨 'wtf is this?'
Ah well, Defiently not boring :)
honestly this movie is such a fever dream 😭
So what were your real thoughts on this movie overall?
Absolute legend 🐝
Just what I needed, another awesome Sophie reaction vid 👍🏿👍🏿 she does not disappoint 💯 #proudSophieLentsaddict #undertheSOPHIEinfluence
E.T once said: Bee good
(this popped into my head while thinking of bee puns, and came up with this nonsense)
Theresa channel here on TH-cam, Gigi ASMR where she recreates the whole movie in asmr, is so hilariously good I love it 😂❤
R.İ.P Larry King. İm gonna a dnd plus some pokemon and modern time fantasy and comedy series in the future and i will a charachter how bassed on Stephen Colbert for a reference to this scene😂
This is the most weirdest Dreamworks movies I remember growing up. I mean I’m not saying it’s a terrible movie it’s just the plot always felt really confusing to me and the whole concept of a bee falling in love with human was like ok 😳 I mean I’d still find it funny in some parts and voice acting was alright but it was never one of those movies that really entertained me. but hopefully you liked it Sophie and can’t wait for the next movie reaction 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Is that joe swansons actor? All i can hear is joe from her very sane husband
Who told her to watch this? 😵💫 She's gonna lose brain cells
The Cheetah Girls Full Movie 1-2-3
Brilliant movie, Bees are so cute.
How do you like the smell of FLAMES!!! 😂
Since you watched all these movies lol, you should watch Cricket and Antoinette, if you will be able to
I had honey and yea watching this video. I don’t regret it.
Would love to see you react to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem next whenever you have the chance. It’s a really good one that I think you’d really like even if you aren’t a fan of past adaptations of the franchise.
Hey Sophie you should watch the movie Secondhand Lions
This whole movie is a like a meme
This is a movie in which a bee falls in love with a woman and then she tells him that I have seen bizarre things but this is in my top 10 bizarre
I once watched a video on why bees are able to fly. While we tend to think of flying as flapping wings going up and down, apparently bees' wings flapping back and forth. My guess that it helps with lift because the body is not in the way.
Honestly I really like this movie; yeah the plot is absurd and lot of stuff really makes no sense but it make me laugh so I really don't care XD
And yeah, Ken is truly the only sane character in this movie lmao.
