You're a genius! I never thought about using a window to trace... Genius! Man, that could've saved me so much time on previous projects. Thank you so much for this great tutorial!
getting back into embroidery, I grew up doing it with my sisters and mother. I am happy to have found your channel. I am learning some things I didn't know or things I forgot, thank you :-)
wow, awesome! I didn't know things could be embroidered by hand! I am spoiled with 19 heads of embroidery. this would be a great stress reliver to learn this. looks like fun!
You DIDN'T KNOW things could be embroidered by hand? I stared at the screen for a long time trying to figure out whether that is really what you meant or not. So, you literally thought embroidery was only invented when somebody came up with a way for a machine to do it??
Kristin Morgan I know it's probably a little late for this reponse, but the floss you buy from walmart can be made thinner, you just have to pull it apart. I made that same mistake when i first started using it. I had been using an old collection of floss my grandmother and great grandmother had saved.
You will need to get some transfer paper for dark fabric. put a book or hard surface under the fabric, then the transfer paper, then your design. Use a ball point pen and press firmly. It can be tricky, so maybe practice a time or two first! Thanks for watching!!! Hope that helps!
I have never done this on a t-shirt, but there are some stabilizers you can get at the craft store for t-shirts, they would go on the under side of the shirt. How come you can't put it in a hoop? Once the stabilizer is on it will help and then you can gently put the t-shirt in a hoop without warping the fabric and stretching it too much. I hope that helps!
with the llm monogram if i wanted to do that font but fill it in would i sew it from side to side or how would i do that? im trying to monogram a cheap lil scarf for my daughter.
O traceing would work to.... i am curious does it have to be special kind of embroidery thread or can it be any home thread does it greatly aid in precision and speed of design if you uses the specialized embroidery thread? I would imagine so only because of the extra thickness of the thread used but any thread of the same thickness would work i would imagine just guessing
Wow, your using a lot of threads, you can get two strands and then do it. When sticking you don't need the whole thing that's Why they are in a different strands.
I bless you as you go out and as you come in, I bless you with favor, everything you put your hand to will prosper, I bless you as the head and not the tail, I bless your business, investments, relationships, goals, dreams, and endeavors, I bless your family and their offspring, all in the mighty name of Jesus. To keep this blessing confess with your mouth, and believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus is the Lord, Jesus you are the Lord and Savior of my life, I believe with my heart God raised you from the dead, My faith is in the blood of Jesus, Thank you that I am a child of God, Thank you that I am chosen, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, In Jesus name Amen. Did you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead for the first time? If you just gave your life to Jesus for the first time or rededicated your life to Christ reply; Salvation, to this message.
+karenz Yes, and if you do not have proficiency in a skill, you should not be demonstrating "how to" videos of that skill until you obtain some proficiency in it. People who have never encountered embroidery will watch this video and either be confused, or pick up all sorts of bad habits. 1. She should have used an interfacing to stiffen behind the embroidery. 2. She should have used fewer strands of the 6 strand cotton thread as using all 6 made it lumpy and unattractive. 3. She should have tightened the fabric that she was working on in the hoop because proper tension is part of good needlepoint, it stops the image from being distorted when you block the fabric to finish the piece. 4. She should have given thought to the placement of her knots as well as where she carried the thread across the back of the fabric to "backtrack" as lumpy knots and dark thread visible through a light fabric are low quality workmanship. (A very true old adage is that "the back should look almost as good as the front.") There is more, but basically, don't "teach" if you are making elementary mistakes yourself.

why is everyone being so rude, if she wants to use all six strands let her, its her personal choice, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that
Miss you Melanie

I love all this looks with all 6 strands. So cool. I've never tried this but I'm going to now. 😊
Thank you! Want to do some monograms on handkerchiefs for a gift. Your video was perfect. Off to embroider!
Don’t know y but there’s a good aura and positivity around you.
Ohmy, I'm so looking forward to start this. Never done it before!! Just need to get a needle and embroider floss

use stencils and trace with a white pencil or light marker if you are useing dark material that needs to be embroidered on.
Thank you so much. Simple, easy and anyone can do it. Can't wait to try it 👍
That was lovely to watch, thank you Melanie x

I'm loving all your embroidered videos! Thank you for always sharing
thank you for your video. Question: For hoops, do you prefer plastic, wood or metal (aluminum?)?
i liked your technique and i will use it in the future thanxxx
Thank you for the video, it was very helpful especially for newbies! I subscribed to your website for more instructive vids.

Never use all six strands of floss! I always split it and only use three.
Its okay to use all six threads. The bulky look is a style.
Tiffany Petty Why do you think not to use all 6?
I always use just 3 strands too. It just looks daintier. And it is easier for me.
how to write name on fleece blanket with sewing machine
What was the pen you used? You said you would show it up close, but forgot to. Thank you. I really loved how you made the back stitch so much easier.

+sam111880 when you try you will see, normal thread won't look nice and the tension, stiffness, thickness is not nice to work with.
How do you trace your lettering on if that fabric you are embroidering is dark?
This hoop is a 4. Thanks for watching!
Melanie Ham nice viree nice so qute
I like it i will try it in the future...
What kind of fabric are you using?

very amateur effort - there are much better ways to do starting and ending knots, for example.
i'm sorry but that's terrible
