Me and my wife had an authentic Kobe steak in Las Vegas “Mirage casino” a few years back. A 6 oz steak was $160.00. The sides were extra. That was my steak. My wife got an 8 oz Prime filet mignon. they brought out the steak to show us it before grilling it on a wood smoked grill to medium rare, it looked like every other tendril of the steak was fat! My first bite I heard Angels sing! (Like the opening to the simpsons). I stared passed my wife’s face into oblivion. I might have had a tear in my eye. It was a most beautiful moment. My wife saw this and said: “Oh come on! It can’t be that good!” Which brought me out of my revelry and I smiled at her and continued eating with gusto. I found my wife staring at me and offered her a small piece. After amazement took over her she stared off into nothingness absorbed by the flavor and after prodding her for her opinion she said; “it’s....it’s like... what every steak in the world SHOULD taste like.... She then continued eating her USDA PRIME BEEF TENDERLOIN and finally said: “Thanks a lot! Now my steak tastes like shi7! I then had to give her 1 more bite. Before we left Vegas we went back to that steak house and split a steak... 3 ounces each. This was a spiritual experience!
You should have cooked the steaks in their separate pans because when you cooked them together their oil mix together and now you can't taste their own flavors.
Your son is absolutely adorable!!!! So when I was a kid, steak was my absolute favorite food in the world. Maybe it was because I grew up in Kobe. Ever since moving to the States, I can practically count the number of times I've eaten steak.... sadly....
I like American Prime. Just the right amount of fat. Wagyu is good but it is too fatty and too rich to eat a whole steak. Tastes funky too. I personally despise all grass fed beef and Most all wagyu resembles this flavor. Not my thing. I personally enjoy the price of Prime, its availability, and the fact that you are spending money on the steak and not the fat of the animal. If I want to eat a fatty piece of meat I would personally go for Porkbelly. Just my opinion.
Interesting Comparison! I don't think the steak should be cooked in the same pan as the fat rendering in the pan from the different breeds can influence the flavour.. also the heat distribution is not the same because the steak in the middle will be cooked the fastest.
Japanese wagyu is the best, but at half the price american wagyu is the best bang for the buck. Aussie wagyu is great too, but I prefer American wagyu.
Japanese A5 Wagyu is like eating butter...it's the most tender steak in the market. However, in eating steak, I want that beef meat flavor that I taste from regular Angus beef. It may not be as tender as a Japanese Wagyu, but it's tender enough, with the beefy taste I like. We treat ourselves to Wagyu once in a while, during family celebrations, but on regular weekends at home, nothing beats Australian Angus beef.
Why cook the steaks in the same pan??? All the fat flavours mix together and the steaks doesn’t have te same size. That’s the reason the wagyu a5 is way overcooked. Seeing that was really 💔 😩😩
I also love giving my 2 year old a lot of tasting in food he went from zebra to moose to kangourou to ordinair chicken breast and everything in between :p
A good steak like A5, no need to eat it bloody. For many years I kept repeating myself, telling American friends, that we are not Neanderthal, we don't have to eat bloody meat. Bad chef fooling you all that if you want edible steak, you have to eat it bloody. That is because the chef has no clue how to cook bad quality tough meat. A5 will melt in your mouth without any blood. As for the tough to chew part of the meat, there are still many ways to make it delicious without the raw smell of blood. Slice it paper thin, dip it in boiling soup for a second, dip it in your favorite sauce and enjoy it. No need to eat raw bloody meat like wild animals.
I got today aged black angus ribeye in Ireland and it looks and taste superb, better marbling then wagyu , and I had them all. I love buffalo steak...but unfortunately not available in Europe.
Excelente vídeo. Já ouvi dizer que Wagyu A5 é melhor comido em pequenas quantidades, mas que é muito pesado para comer todos os dias. Que achas? Abraço de Portugal, irmão ;)
Somebody lied to you when you bought this steak. The a5 I believe is probably legit, but........ it is not the same cut as the other two. However the other two are not as advertised either. All the wagyu grades should be the exact same blood lines, but are clearly different. The one listed as American wagyu has been aged tremendously more than the others, hence the dark color. Wagyu animals will virtually never get this much back fat either unless they are way over finished or cross bred animals. So I don't think it is even American wagyu, plus the marbling of this steak is not of wagyu quality, especially if it actually had this much back fat. Wagyu with this kind of fat on it would be virtually white with fat, much like the japanese wagyu is. Yet the marbling is scant at best. There are some pretty big red flags here for me. However the black angus does usually have a lot of back fat, and should have a huge fat strip on it, but it is not there????? Why?????. It is also a different cut of meat as the others, why???. I enjoyed the vid. But you got to compare apples to apples. And don't season it to compare, it jades the true flavor. And for good steak you don't need a knife :) . Yes I raise beef for a living. Specifically Angus, Wagyu and/or some cross of the two. American wagyu should be just as good as Japanese wagyu as they are the same animal blood lines.
Negative sir, Japanese 🇯🇵wagyu is the best steak 🥩 in the World. American wagyu is no way near that. Japanese steaks are the most expensive steak in the world.
Dude thanks for getting straight to the content, your the man, no dancing, just cooking, eating and reviewing, your the man, great stuff, thanks
The japanese waygu is overcooked
Dude, your son is a real man in the making!!!! Loved his response to the steak tasting!

Great story😆😆
I enjoyed reading this!
how do you overcook the A5 like that, man.. smh
His steak cooking license is suspended....
To be fair, it is REALLY easy to overcook an A5, especially that thin. The structure is so different that you need to approach it differently.
Black angus is really delicious but Wagyu A5 just on another level....
You should have cooked the steaks in their separate pans because when you cooked them together their oil mix together and now you can't taste their own flavors.
2 seconds into the video, and that's the first thing I thought
Your son is absolutely adorable!!!!
So when I was a kid, steak was my absolute favorite food in the world. Maybe it was because I grew up in Kobe. Ever since moving to the States, I can practically count the number of times I've eaten steak.... sadly....
Ahhh man! You got spoiled early on! Just like the kid’s reaction when he ate the black angus compared to the A5.

sorry but I love my American Black Angus mmmm
love the child in the background and mon is not far behind making sue you don't eat it all lol
How do you burn 200 dollar steak
Burn? It was a little over cooked. How do you cal a medium steak burned?
@@smyzo if you cook wagyu medium your just cooking to much of the fat and medium is yucky
@@nickgraf463 Wagyu medium is yucky? It may not be as good as MR but its far from yucky. You can't be an adult.
@@smyzo bro just why would you cook it medium
@@nickgraf463 I'm pretty sure he did on accident because he was cooking all 3 at the same time.
This channel is so underrated lmao
I always have wagyu steak with some shoyu & wasabi at the side... it helps to cut the richness of that fatty beef
Nice to see a parent feeding his kid beef instead of soy
I have had the A5 filet would not recommend though I am not a filet mignon kinda person way too lean. (Only A5 they had, idk why I tried it twice.)
To be honest, I'll try anything three times to give it honest judgment.
I've had amazing A5 New York strips and rib eyes.
That A5 was overcooked my man, waste of a good steak.
Facts
Waste? LOL.
Angus is the one that actually tastes of, you know, beef.
So funny seeing little man turn inside from wanting more. You gotta feed babies steadily lol.
Black Angus wins hands down on Price.
But what about the price difference between them?
What is the flat pan you’re using in the beginning of this video? Thanks
It is a cast iron griddle.
Love it when he threw that fork
Dad, better feed that boy, he'll be the one selecting your nursing home
Is the american dry aged?
What type of electric grill is that? I would love to know and try on my balcony.
what is black angus considered? Prime, choice etc?
Not Wagyu that for sure.
Also depends. It's good steak.
him: which one is good?
son: yes
Very cool, glad to see you back filming 👍
haha, thanks man, I am back at editing tho... filming has been a while...
Thanks
Cooking a .8 inch thick a5 steak the same time at tje same temp as a 1.3 inch thick Angus is not " cooking them TO the same temp.
How many varieties of Wagyu are there?
Japanese Waygu? There are 4-5 different ranches that produce Waygu, each has a slightly different flavor.
@@jimmydabutler9022 Thanks,I found the answer to the question. Four varieties, Black, Red, Polled, Short Horn.
I think you mixed Angus and A5 up if you watch closely
Japanese wagyu is the best, but at half the price american wagyu is the best bang for the buck. Aussie wagyu is great too, but I prefer American wagyu.
Did all the meat come from crowd cow? Babies are adorable. You a lucky man.

Three different cooks rare medium rare and well done
Looks like you overcooked the A5
Increíble !! Gracias, debo probarlo un día !
@her.atlas You had A5 Wagyu in Japan 🙏🙏🙏
Bazuca!!! Dazora! Ganhou um inscrito. Ótimo vídeo!!!
Have you ever tried Australian full blood wagyu? I have heard some people prefer the flavor to even Japanese wagyu.
Australian Wagyu are more lean. Wagyu (Japanese beef) Has more fat in it. I'd go for the real thing 😏
Australian one is a dollar store version of the real deal. Don't delude yourself
Australian Wagyu is more like broiler than Wagyu.
Where are you from man? Your accent sounds very familiar.
Cant wait to try it myself.
if you see pink in the a5 waygu you need to get your eyes checked by an optometrist. its not overcooked, it's over over overcooked
Made only in Japan.
You got 3 great looking pieces there.
Best for last 🥩
Why cook the steaks in the same pan??? All the fat flavours mix together and the steaks doesn’t have te same size. That’s the reason the wagyu a5 is way overcooked. Seeing that was really 💔 😩😩
Great job. Would like to see Australian wagyu in the mix.
RIP A5 wagyu 🤦 you over cooked it bruh🤦🤦🤦
Too bad im poor and all I can afford is Good ol' America Angus Beef.
Just imagine if you didn’t over cook the a5
I also love giving my 2 year old a lot of tasting in food he went from zebra to moose to kangourou to ordinair chicken breast and everything in between :p
和牛ステーキの美味しい食べ方はわさびと醤油の組み合わせです。
同意した
your son was trying to snatch beef cut from your hand, he looked more cute at the moment.
2 Wagyu steaks vs not a Wagyu steak. Next time use Australian Wagyu.
Nice video
I don't mind eating American Wagyu if the price is economical.

True fact. Humans are animals.
He should of did Australian A5
It's probably aged more than the American meat.
Cholesterol free.
So looks delicious. I'm new here. Done it's your turn
Done!

Com certeza não é pra comer muito, primeiro que é bem caro, segundo que tem bastante gordura, fica enjoativo
aloo hein apareceu aqui na minhas recomendações
Your tests are biased. You got to ask kid mom to do a blind test. Thank you for the interesting comparison.
Japanese A5 wagyu is like fat with a little bit of meat.
With your wife not liking it, u lost a lot of credibility…. Lol
why the fuck are you cooking that beautiful meat on a hot plate
You so over cooked the Wagyu A5. I personally find it too fatty.
No rest for those steaks = fail. Bye. This experiment is null and void

Poor angus the steak is literally raww
should be no salt, rare , med n well. not legit
Eu aqui comendo meu miojo kkkkk
Any cow put on grain long enough will develop the same marbling
If it were that easy everyone would be doing it and waygu would be everywhere dirt cheap. Genetics plays a much bigger part
アメリカン和牛とはkwsk
Sweet channel bro. Do more videos with Wagyu versus American angus shit
Terrible cooking can see thr ring of over cooked meat
A5 Japanese wagyu ain't look like that..
Horrible cook. Put salt after cooking.
