I watch every single video you do. I love the "Carol twist" on all of them. I like a lot of flavor too. I started canning about a year and a half ago because I started gardening from needing a new hobby. It grew into 2 new hobbies. Now it has turned into an ADDICTION!!!!! My husband loves that my 2 hobbies are edible 😋.

There is a whole cookbook with a TON of recipes along this line. “ Make a Mix” by Karine Eliason. It was my go to book when my kids were still home. It has EVERYTHING in it! Brownie mix, cake mixes, hot roll mix, Bisquick, muffin mix. It even has recipes/techniques for freezing ready made items. For years I kept beans and spaghetti sauce in the freezer. Not quite as convenient as popping open a jar, but I could add as many veggies as I wanted to my spaghetti sauce and not have to worry about acidity. I’m going to have to look thru it again. I haven’t used it in years since my kids all grew up. I highly recommend it!

Oh yes! I had the whole series! And still do it after all these years! I used them so much when my kids were very little. I even helped a widower who had four children prepare a months worth of food to freeze. Also did this as baby shower gifts. Loved loved loved it!

I make this mix all the time and have not bought any cream of.... soups for a long time. It is delicious. One tip I learned is to run your powdered skim milk through a processor or blender before using for anything. It grinds it finer and it is WAY easier for it to reconstitute in whatever you use it for. I add my dehydrated celery for cream of celery, or my dehydrated mushrooms for cream of mushroom. This soup is wonderful!!! Thanks for showing this!!

I'm going to try it with my dehydrated potatoes and see how it comes out.
AND I'm going to use it with my pressure canned chicken which is SO easy to shred.

For 2 days I was looking for a decent chicken broth powder, with no success. Each one of them had some nasty ingredients in it, that I will not eat. Thank you so much for those 2 links to Amazon. One of them is currently not available, but the other is. I will get this one, sounds much better than the ones that I saw. I also need the milk powder, then I will make your mix! :)

I just wanted to let you know and others who can about China made jars. It’s getting hard to find Ball and Kerr canning jars so I bought an off brand does not have a name from H‑E‑B. I’m canning diced tomatoes and I just placed two jars in the water bath canner the water was not boiling as I was preparing two more jars the ones in the canner started popping a lot I looked and the lids were not popping inward but outward bending and getting creases in them. I’m so thankful I was not pressure canning them I don’t even want to think about what would’ve happened. I think the jars will be ok for storing dry goods in them but not canning. Also ball bands were a little to big for the jars so you couldn’t tighten them and if I put ball lid in the China band it was hard to get it out. Just FYI

Nice job, thanks. I have used the natural knorr bouillion you speak of but found it takes 2 tsp per cup for me to get the taste I want, it's good, just takes more IMO. I make this also but use whole milk powder which I date to be used within 6 mos, seeing that whole milk powder doesn't hold as long after opened. I will admit though to keeping some over a year but you need to ck it first by using it to see if it's still good.

I have a totally unrelated question to this video. But my first pressure canning I canned a ton of beans. I followed the soak overnight and boil 30 minutes. I have noticed that over the last few weeks, all the bean water has gotten absorbed in the jars. I wish I had watched carol’s bean video BEFORE I made them. Do I need to toss all of them out? Or will they be safe if I use them in cooking if I boil them for at least ten minutes?
