It was freaking amazing when in the last second in the second Ultimate Astalos performed, Lunagaron just attacked before Astalos did saving him, I'M really proud of the Cool Ice boi
13:51 was my favourite moment! Lunagaron manages to dodge one of Astalos's flyign dives while simultaneously continuing its combo long enough to interrupt the horn sword!
@Cream puff cookie i am impressed by both Lunagaron and Zinogres acrobatic dodges in there respective fights, must be something that runs in the fanged wyvern bloodline
This fight was amazing! I especially love at the end at 16:29 where Lunagaron goes for a last resort trying to take down Astalos. He might have failed in that attempt since he did lose, but Luna got some serious guts as shown right there.
Oh my god, that last moment where Astalos got exhausted with Luna on 1HP, I was truly shocked that Astalos might still lose! What an insane finale to a very crazy fight! The two monsters really didn't give each other any breathing room, constant back and forth! This was really cool to watch, but also a bit exhausting since neither side really paused for a longer time, just full aggro all the time (as you'd expect) XD
@Berni thanks, i love the monster design in MH and for me watching them clash is what excites me the most. I try to show a different aspect of monster hunter then just essays and builds.
It seems that the biggest edge that one monster can have over another is the ability to flinch the opponent, breaking their combos & cancelling their attacks
@@milesedgeworth205 I feel like Luna would win against garangolem, but I can't be sure and don't count it because maybe garangolem just died due to having a huge hit box that readily accepted attacks from both malzeno and Luna. who knows
Even tho Seregios (my favorite monster) didn't make it, at least Astalos (my 2nd favorite) did. Hopefully in the near future we can all see the two battle it out.
@Ralmok i really wanted seregios to make it for an awesome clash with his rival, but there are some awesome contestants and potential fights still left to watch. Lets see if Astalos can take on Rakna-kadaki
Imagine if Rathalos, Seregios, and Astalos fought each other it will be very interesting and fun to watch especially since all of these monsters are rulers of the sky and I don’t care if the fight will 1v1 or a battle Royale after all it will be still very fun to watch.
What a GLORIOUS fight ! For this one I wasn't rooting for any side since I love Astalos/thought Lunagaron will win thanks to his elemental advantage and blight. But oh was I wrong, Asta not only kept close to Luna's health bar, he made it drop below his ! This is going to be one of my favorites of this tournament
You know there was a fight held between goss harag and lunagaron which goss won. I’m surprised he wasn’t included in this. As well as rathalos who was made significantly stronger in this game than in recent games.
@Manny MS yes, I know about Goss vs Luna we did that fight on this channel. To be honest a lot of monsters could have been in this tournament but we only had 8 spots to fill and ultimately the ones you see were selected.
Had this in the bag even tho astalos is less tanky he does crazy damage with pretty fast moves, lunagaron struggles a lot cause he has a ton of moves that dont hit as hard as they should
@Berni rathalos definitely has improved in Rise and its ingame stats are convincing. That would be a really interesting match up, and have a great rivalry.
Welp, Astalos won..., Tho this fight had many "cheats from Astalos", Lunagaron failed a lot of its ultimate slash attacks and Astalos ultimate did crazy damage..., If it wasn't because of that, Ice dog would have won but guess the monster's AI is a bit coo koo crazy sometimes, anyway great fight and content as always!!! Edit: Ok I admit it, I got really mad at first but, since this is pretty much a 50/50 battle, I see both of them winning, so um, guess you can root for both of them :0
@@athos9293 to be fair, astalos also could inflict thunderblight, and although it didn't do anything in this fight, I have seen other monsters with the thunder element stun thunderblight afflicted mons, so thunderblight can make a difference. Of course, it didn't in this battle, so I'm not saying it was unfair, but just wanted to point that out
My boy! Noooooo😭! Although I must say, this is a video game so attacks are not going to hit like they should. In an actual fight I still believe lunagaron would win but in the context of these videos, hats off to astalos.
@@spinomania1921 I don’t know all it takes is one successful Leap on it’s back for a close range ice Breath & it’s all over for astalos. Lunagaron is definitely more aggressive than astalos.
@@ivangreat4885 yes it is true Astalos is pretty damn aggressive but Lunagaron puts the “A” in aggression. Sure Astalos can fly but what good is flying if your wing webbings are frozen solid. Like I said, 1 solid ice breath on the back or on either wing & it’s Game over. If we were talking about any other winged monster that doesn’t have a weakness to ice I could see them shaking off the ice. But Astalos not only has the ice weakness but both of its wings are some of if not the most weakest parts of its body. Astalos has to be aggressive to make up for those facts but Lunagaron has more aggression. Not a whole lot but enough to get 1 deciding blow to seal the deal. After all Astalos has to come to the ground to catch its breath eventually. Lunagaron can handle electricity more than Astalos with Ice. Don’t get me wrong it would still be pretty close.

@DragoCubX of all the other fights, this one so far has gone back and forth the most and it had too be between two monsters with anger issues lol

@Medena Drakorus it really was, because all through out it was hard to call a clear winner with them getting the edge over eachother constantly.

Lunagaron had Ice blight in his favor, not to mention that he managed to flinch-lock Astalos in the air.
