That was very close, Astalos sheer aggression might have overpowered Rakna, but she held her own against his relentless assault quite well. My favourite moment is probably at 10:03 because how Astalos shoots out a lot of thunder pillars and then starts attacking Rakna from the side. It's just a very flashy yet beautiful display, almost like he was showing off.
@Cameron Lee Astalos really knows how to make a spectacle with its bright and flashy colors. You're right though about Rakna she really held out and looked in good control for a while; but Astalos's ultimate really made the difference.
Rakna maybe a tank, but unlike Seregios, Astalos has both AOE and powerful attacks. Those aerial assaults and its thunder projectiles really helped Astalos take down even the spider’s defenses. Now let’s see if the Electric Rebel can dethrone the Thunderlord next week.

If we’re thinking logically Rakna has the advantage with Hp, blight effectiveness, and range with those attacks that have her zoom around the arena. But Astalos has that Shear aggression and damage that helped it with Luna. I might go with Astalos here, but who knows? Edit:Arial flinches also are a huge factor in fights so that’s another point in Rakna’s favor
i was honestly kinda shocked of how well rakna performed, for a moment i thought she would win, and go to the finals against zinogre, but oh well, thunder storm battle it is

This was ridiculously close, when Astalos broke THREE of Rakna’s parts all at once?! That was crazy, I’ve never seen Rakna without all the webs covering it before 😂
It's insane how much better the fights seem to be on average in Rise/Sunbreak compared to World/Iceborne. Another incredibly fun to watch constant back and forth, could really have gone either way! Though I would say Astalos had a slight edge and would win more often overall
@DragoCubX thanks, I am also enjoying the sunbreak fights alot and as you said the monsters on the same tiers are so evenly matched that it's really hard to pick a winner

Also, HEY I GOT FEATURED :D. one last thing, but I think once a monster reaches 1 hp you should just take the hit cause it's not like it really changes anything, plus that makes it twice now that Astalos could've had a proper dramatic finish but the moment gets kinda spoiled because we wait for the next attack to hit. I get the whole "immersion" thing but it feels a little unnecessary when the victor is already clearly decided. That's just me personally
If your opponent is a tank, to lower its defenses, attack it nonstop till his armour(health) depletes by every swift attacks. And it is where a Pstcopathic Flying Wyvern's good at. Attack continuously til it dies.
For a while I was worried that Astalos might lose but the moment he did 1k+ damage in one attack I realized I was a fool to think Rakna stood a chance. Was still close, but my realization still proved true.
I honestly didn’t really mind with whoever would win. I love Astalos but Rakna impressed me and I was curious to see how she could do. Alas, she made plenty of mistakes at the end letting the electric rebel clear her. It’s clear to me she absolutely had a chance to win, but Astalos deserves this W. Rooting for him!
@Kokoto Menance Agreed, Rakna had a good chance to take this fight; but I think suffered a lot from when it got tierd. It had a really convincing lead at late stages of the fight, but just couldn't get the job done.
@Bob The Penguin I know the 5 min wait time is annoying, but it's sort of necessary because when the premier goes live it becomes searchable and can be picked up by the algorithm, so by extending it I can potentially get more people to tune into the stream.
@@weiweichen4302 well for starters 1 of Rakna’s max resistances is electricity. Astalos has a little bit of a fire weakness just a little though but it’s enough to make a difference with this matchup. As we have seen from Rakna’s performance against Seregios she can definitely handle against airborne monsters. Hell Seregios is by far one of the fastest airborne monsters I have seen. Unfortunately the only Real advantage Astalos has is that he has big AOE attacks so his attacks will almost guarantee to hit. Sure Rakna will be stunned 1-2 times but that won’t be enough to pull a victory. Don’t get me wrong I will be rooting for Astalos. I hope 🤞 he wins but statistically speaking Rakna would win. 🤷🏻♂️
