i have a 97 z28 30th anniversary edition camaro that has been sitting in a OPEN feild for 10 years, (under the hot sun, and winter cold for 10 YEARS) (43k miles) put a battery in the ol girl, she fired right up first crank, the car is in immaculate condition, i mean absolutely spotless, no pully rust, no rotted lines, interior was perfect, perfect car, no problems, put a fuel pump in her, hit the injectors with a screwdriver, she ran like she was rolling off the assembly line, 2 years later, she’s my every now and then weekend car,
it’s sad how many z28s end up like mine and yours, keep restoring m8👍

@@maroz2881 As someone who owned both 3rd and 4th gen F-bodies in my younger years, I can tell you that's exactly what some of us did. Getting to the fuel pump was unreal in those cars. Also remembering having to drop a 4L60E trans out of a 95 Trans Am on my back on my parents driveway. Getting to the top driver's side trans / engine bolt required a swivel, about 3 feet of extensions, and having to start by the tailshaft on the trans. Extensions would go over the entire trans, then swivel up at the bell housing to the trans bolt, and then swivel on to the bolt. You couldn't break it loose from above (or below) without unmounting the engine and tipping it back which I couldn't do by myself with the tools I had. So I had to lie on my back and start getting it over the trans, then lie on my engine and place it on the bolt (with absolutely no room for my arm and it's all by feel), then back under the car and hope you break it loose. 2 hours and 51 tries later, the bolt was off.

these fuel pumps rely on the fuel to cool them, constantly driving on empty burns them out eventually. Check the throttle body, could be dirty enough to prevent air from getting in, just spray with cleaner and wipe. Something that simple with such a tight tolerance will prevent starting. At the end of the video says it's injectors, never use gas with Ethanol, it really gums up everything.
