Hi Mattias, while demoing the modulations you were clicking back and forth between note timings.... how do you modulate those? so that it flips back and forth between the chosen note timings by itself at the proper times? It was briefly touched upon at the end of the video but I am still confused about how to do this. Can you make a video explaining further? or is it easy to explain here in the comments section? Thanks... 🙇♂
Hi Archer, I guess you referr to the note sync rate (16, 8, 4, 1/1 etc. that I set in this part of the video) th-cam.com/video/TVp6eu_5LlQ/w-d-xo.html You can drag a modulator to the sync rate parameter. Or just press / adjust the sync rate parameter and it will appear in the automation lane (if you got that open on your track). Now you can add automation and change the sync-rate at different places in your timeline. I did it with the mouse but you can also do it with modulation or automation. Endless possibilities! ;) Did that solve your problem?
Could you please make a video about an effective way of processing left and right channels independently in bitwig studio? Should we just copy the channel and after process both channels independently, or the Bitwig studio has a toll for that purpose to make the process much easier? It would be great to have such a video. Thanks in advance!
Hi David, thats a great idea. Bitwig has a device to split left / right channel for individual processing (as well as split freq bands). So then you can add additional plugins for each channel separately. I’m gonna see if we can do a separate focused video on it. Cheers, Mattias
@@MattiasHolmgren Thank you so much for your response, Mattias! It would be great! And thank you for all your videos, they really help me to get closer to Bitwig studio. Best wishes, David.
You can add more modulators. After three has been added additional three mod-boxes appear. 👌 yeah sometimes you want more, depends on sound design scenario. 😄
@@MattiasHolmgren amazing thank you. I just love Bitwig and the way it is designed, makes it fun to explore. And i also own Ableton live 11 suite version. But when i purchased Bitwig Studio i felt this is the program that I'll use more 😊👏 very much greatfull you made this Master Class so i can get up to speed with it 😊👏
@@UnchartedWorlds congrats, yeah Ableton Live is also awesome. But I personally lean on Bitwig more often because it's a super sleek UI and the modulation opened a world to me. Everything (grouping, routing, modulating, automation) is so quick in Bitwig! Thanks for the kind feedback. More awesome episodes are coming!
@@MattiasHolmgren looking forward to more aweseome episodes and hopefully some that will bring us up to new awesome v5 version and what new features we have there and can use :)
I would go for an external SSD drive... or you can use an M2.Nvme disc. Grab something like a NVME USB 3.1 (Gen 2) compatible external cabinet and hook up a M2 of choice. ;) What are your computer specs? PC, Mac, what ports do you have available etc.
I have little experience with Reason since ages ago when I tried it, it was very ”simple and basic” compared to Cubase etc back then. I know its grown, but Bitwig Studio is really in competition to Ableton, Logic, Cubase…the big boys. Although a DAW is just a tool. And today you can make any music in any daw with ease. Bitwig has a modulator and routing system which is VERY flexible for electronic music making. I always recommend you try them out and see what suits you. Highly recommend Bitwig though! ☀️☕️🥁🍿

@@MattiasHolmgren Thanks for your reply Mattias, yes I think what I was wondering about is the automation lane functionality! Have an awesome day :)

@@MattiasHolmgren You are very welcome, Mattias!
Hi Mattias, is 3 modulators max we can add? Do we ever want more then 3 per single device?

Mattias, what do you think about reason studio in comparison with bitwig ?

You can always use Reason as a plugin too if you for some ”reason” want to ☺️🎹
