A common problem with these kind of videos is that they cite Arizona, when actually they are talking about Phoenix. There are basically 3 different areas in Arizona. The Valley (Phoenix), central highlands (Prescott), and the high country (Flagstaff, Show low). All have 3 different climates. Flagstaff being like Michigan, Prescott being like Tennessee, and Phoenix being like Miami. The only difference is the humidity. It's dry everywhere in Arizona. It can get below zero in temperature at night in Flagstaff. Flagstaff gets really cold in the winter, but the summers are very comfortable. Prescott is a happy medium and recommend that area as the best place to move to. Payson is nice too. Phoenix is where you go if need to make money. Elevation is everything in this state. Flagstaff is about 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Prescott is 20 degrees cooler. Tucson is about 5 degrees cooler. There is a lot of theft in Tucson, especially cars as it is so close to the border. Tucson however is very nice, just make sure you lock your stuff up.

Been here 30+ yrs. Lived in every city in East Valley plus, Show Low. Now in Chandler. I love it here. How can you not? Sunny, Sunny, Sunny. Rarely rains unless it’s Monsoon season. Yes, Summer is unbearable at times. Getting in your car can be horrible. You see every tree in parking lots has first dibs no matter how far from the store. Lol. The electric bill is enormous in the Summer, but Winter you can pretty much go without turning on the heat. It’s worth it. Christmas my first year was odd. Seeing cactus decorated instead of trees took a bit to get used to. I suggest you take a trip up to the White Mountains if you haven’t. I’m Vegetarian too and yes, there are plenty of places to eat. Yes, family and friends love to visit so you’re never lonely. 😄

What I like most about Arizona is the weather. You will find yourself not being filled with sweat as it's so dry that when you do sweat it evaporates as soon as it presents itself. You don't get that moisture on outside of the glass of your cold drinks. When I go back to Michigan to visit I get reminded of the humidity.
Hawaii is a 6 hour non-stop flight. Go there frequently.
Prescott is probably the nicest place to live in Arizona as it's elevation is just right.
The unique thing about this state is that if you want to have a summer and winter home your choice becomes much easier as you only need to travel to Flagstaff for the summer and Phoenix in the winter. It's all determined by elevation. Whereas is you lived in Michigan you must travel to Florida, then drive back to Michigan in the summer. The distance is much shorter here to achieve the same thing. Florida and Michigan are very humid. Yuck!

The cost of paradise is crazy expensive. So when we had our vacation in AZ in Jan 2018, we like it alot and so decided to move.

I grew up in northern Minnesota and have lived in the east valley twice and now in WA state. I took living in Arizona for granted. I don’t like the extreme heat, but I also don’t like the extreme cold. In hindsight, Tempe is objectively the best place I’ve lived. Easiest place to meet people and actually make friends and it’s surprisingly convenient to get around without a car. Valley Metro is truly a good transit agency. I’m planning on moving back there and buying a home this time.

I was born here and my parents moved here when they were 19 and 20... I love how affordable it is and I love and am proud of how new and fresh the economic still growth is... The traffic is only a medium annoyance compared to other places... We have rush hour, but other times everything is free, almost too free because people drive too quickly.
6 hour drive from San Diego, 4 hours from the border, 2 hours from snowboarding up north!

It's too hot---burning, scorching heat for over 4.5 months, all day and night. It feels like you are walking through an oven, and it goes up to 125 degrees. I can only run to my car; I can't even hang outside in the day during the summer without burning. I got a bad rash on my hands from the harsh weather conditions transitioning from extreme heat to dry cold. Prepare for your A/C bill to be in the hundreds in the summer. Aside from that, everything else is good in the state of Arizona.

Just make all your activities are indoor activities, just as you would do indoor activities during a snowy cold winter in a colder state. Movie theaters, malls , indoor amusement parks, maybe a water park if it's low triple digits that day. There are many restaurants, or malls or indoor rock climbing or racket ball or ice skating or indoor rodeos or Lazer tag or etc etc etc. So many many things to do indoor during summer months. then the thrill wore off swifly meaning like you are stuck in doors for 8 months. You can't escape the heat whereas you
can escape the cold. Also, there is very little to do culturally downtown Phoenix is a blight, no clubs, no art galleries
maybe in Tempe. Be prepared to drive long distances to do anything fun Renting is cheap but the water and electric bills
offset the rent big time, good luck talk to someone who lived there after 6 months I knew 10 people who left the state.

So many people live her now houses are on the market for no more then 2 weeks and it’s top price, so if you resale your house in 5 years you will actually lose money. Minimum wage is only $11/hr. Where else in the world can you go skiing near the Grand Canyon and dirt bike riding in the desert in the same day? Seriously - this is possible during the winters. We also have forests, lakes and waterfalls to.
The only negatives I see: Phx traffic & most people who move here from less freedom oriented places tend to try to turn AZ into the place they left (CA, IL, NY, etc) which is crazy when you think about...I'm from Detroit originally..need I say more? 🙄

I really like it, but there are also pluses and minuses that I noticed after being here over 1 year, such as extremely high property taxes. Of course it is cooler. It is 3,000 feet higher in elevation. You can choose your temperature by going up or down the I 17 to match your desire. That's one thing that I love about Arizona, the 3 hr. up or down temperature control. Flagstaff has 108 inches of snowfall in a winter, and Toronto (at the airport), only has 42 inches in a winter. Stay out of Flagstaff in the winter. I was driving truck, eastbound, and at Kingman, the I 40 eastbound was shut down because of several tractor trailers, and a dozen cars in the ditch at Williams. Not for you, unless you love skiing. I want to be a winter snowbird to Arizona, but not for the summer ! I would do the 7,000 foot level, like Flagstaff, Williams, and the Grand Canyon, in the fall, or spring though. Absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous views !!!! Get a subscription to 'Arizona Highways' from the highway dept. of Arizona; the eye-candy pictures of Arizona will make you salivate !

Who's toes are you trying not to step on with this review of Arizona. I wish people would keep it 100% about things and the true facts of it. No Arizona is not a good base, Arizona is not a good place to live at all. Lets break this down. My family and I had lived in Arizona for two full years on a work project and by the first month we wished we never moved to that god forsaking desert and will never step foot in Arizona again. Here are some cold hard facts that no review talks about. We rented a house and I want to make this clear. This was a new build in a nice area surrounded by other large nice homes. The first night of us moving in I had bought a black light to look for scorpions because of people talking about them. Never would I have thought we would experience what we did. I went outside and right when I turned the light on there was scorpions every where. They were crawling all over the the patio, the walls of the patio and I just froze. I walked in and my wife said. What is wrong. I told her turn off all the lights in the house and look out the window with the black light. My wife lost count after 30. We both could not sleep that night. We had Pest Control out to the house the very next day and we got educated very fast from the Pest Control guy. He said the entire valley has this problem and no matter where you live in Arizona you will have this issue.
That next night I went back outside and come to find we had a larger problem to worry about. I went along the brick walls which by the way. Brick walls really that looks like a prison not a home. There were even more scorpions crawling in and out of the crack in the brick walls. Then I noticed there are drains at the bottom of the brick walls. I pointed the flash light down to see if there were more scorpions and I did a double take. There was Black Windows in all the bottom drains of the full length of the brick wall. Scorpions are one thing but Black Windows are to be taken extremely serious. There is so many overwhelming problems with Arizona I will put them in a list and look it up because it is 100% facts.
The people. Rude and no manners what so ever.
Price of electricity: Sky High. Remember. We were in a new build and Energy Star rated home on top of it be brand new
The electric bill every month no matter if we kept it at 80 or 75. We were paying 400 to 550 every month. Facts
    Valley Fever: Facts
Spider's: and a lot of them. Facts
Scorpions: a lot of them. Facts
Crime: So high and police shootings. Facts
Replacing your windshield. Yes we had to replace our windshield because of problems of small rocks flying into your windshield driving on the freeways. Facts.
Coyotes and Bobcats.: yes a lot of them and saw them all the time on walks. They would just be walking the a busy street. Facts
Snakes.: Yes again very real and beware when walking in a open field or taking a walk in any part of a desert area. Facts
The big one of them all and lets get very real about this. The HEAT. OMG what a fucking joke. Our first year in that god forsaking place we almost lost our minds. From May until almost November it was either over a 100, 110, 112 then you get to look forward to it maybe start to cool down to the upper 90's
It was so hot there when we were there that plans could NOT fly into the airport or take off because it was so hot and the best one of them all and thank god we were not there in that POS place. The summer of 2020. OMG really and people still have good things to say about Arizona after that.
144 days of 100 degrees with listen to it of 115 degrees with 52 days of 110 and higher. And yes the good news keeps coming with lows not going under 90 degrees at night. Oh yes what a wonderful place Arizona is and such a great place to live. BS. One last thing. Lets not for get about the Dust storms Arizona has.

IF you move here please leave Liberal politics where you came from! We hunt, fish, hike, camp, carry firearms, protect out beautiful landscapes, drink everything from beer to whiskey to a great Cabernet to an awesome martini. We just like our freedoms and liberties here.
