For those unaware, version 1 is what shipped for Xbox 360, PS3, and Microsoft Windows. Version 2 shipped for the Original Xbox, PS2, and I think the Gamecube.
I’ve just been looking to play this game now and only just realised there’s 2 versions for 2 different gens. Both of which are backward compatible for Xbox. Absolutely hilarious 😂
One of the things that makes version 2 better (in my opinion) is that the first mission is tied into the story while in version 1 it (in my opinion) has nothing to do with the rest of the game.
I don’t recall if I ever played the second version since I haven’t played since it came out, but I played 1st version on Xbox. Even as a teen that first mission definitely felt out of place. I’m gonna check out the second version Edit: I’m getting my timeline screwed. I think I might have had it on original Xbox and a friend had it on 360, so not sure which one I played first or if I only played one 😅
The first mission is related just not in the way you'd expect it, it felt like it was meant to tell you why sam was going down a dark path, trying to distract himself from his daughter dying in a car accident.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but as someone who played the Original Xbox version first, then the 360 a few years later... I actually enjoyed gameplay from version 1 better. 😅 That said, I've never really cared about the story in Splinter Cell games.
I got splinter cell pandora tomorrow, chaos theory, double agent version 1 and 2 black list, and the first splinter cell and also splinter cell conviction other sneaking games I have is metal gear solid phantom pain and 3 and 2 😏😉
@@connorbaz5980 i actually like the first splinter cell game better than the rest, pandora tommorow is up there too...the first game had a very good soundtrack. did anyone realize the swat turn in pandora tomorrow weren't in chaos theory ? i think it was cool dont know why they got rid of it. i liked double agent how you had to choose which side your own, the characters felt so real
@@Gencturk92 agreed. The SWAT turn and aiming around the corner (back to wall) mechanic were just so cool. Oh, and the split jump needs to make a comeback too if they ever get around to making a new entry into the series.
@@connorbaz5980 nah doubt there will ever be another splinter cell. the thing i love about splinter cell games is that even after all these years its still amazing to watch and it still looks the same just like it did 20 years ago when I first played it. the first 3 sc games were obviously the best but i loved sc1 and pandora tomorrow
@@Gencturk92 I definitely would rather they never make another one, than "update it for modern audiences" and screw it up. Very popular to do these days.

Best is to have both like i did
Yes and the Nintendo Wii also has version 2. I recommend playing both as well. Just my personal opinion.
ironic how it’s called double agent when the game has 2 different versions

No co-op killed it for me. CT's co-op was genre defining and still unmatched to this day.
It says there is split screen on the ps2
I'm obviously talking about version 1...
@@SPTX. ah my bad I just ordered the ps2 version to play with my friend and I thought you were saying there’s no split screen so I got nervous😅
the og xbox version is the best
I just beat V1. Gonna beat V2 i guess if its different
Yeah...version 1 is bad. And I don't blame you there about version 2 being amazing

I really liked the Xbox 360 version but the PS2 version was better
I thought v1 would be you know? The first release out of the 2
they released on the same date, it’s referred to as 1 because its supposedly the “better” or “essential” one, being next gen
Subscribed! Great video

Most people don't necessarily realize this, but the first Splinter Cell is actually titled "Splinter Cell: Stealth Action Redefined."
