The comments all talk about Ben's time bonuses, but the real kicker is that he got saved by the Curse of the Jammed Door AGAIN, but in a much subtler way. Sam and Adam were about to got to Ito after clearing the Tumble-Curse, but they rolled badly. If they hadn't been stuck at the platform (again), they wouldn't have considered the tentacles, which would lead to them ruling out the south. Ben still played incredibly smart, but the dice gods are definitely on his side this season.
i can't believe how much of a "it's so joever" to "we're so back" this episode was. Ben has already beat the other boys' times with his time bonuses and only needs to hold out for another 1.5 hours to beat his current best :0
@@wellthisisrandom. No way they would give up on DAY 4 OF 6 when at least one of them (Adam) is guaranteed the potential to go for a winning run if they find him
Seeing Ben frame 1 with a ghillie on, hiding in the bushes after just being scared away from the woods by a couple of monkeys last round, seems like an excellent idea.
The thing I love about Ben is that, at first glance, and I say this with all affection and no small resemblance, he’s very ‘comic relief character’ coded. But also he’s absolutely a contender.
I think it is also because Ben doesn't necessrily play the "meta", based on where they calculate would be hard to go to, but goes somewhere fun or weird instead, making him very hard to predict.
@@phildman132 There's this phenomenon where novice players of games can be harder for experts to play against than other experts because novices are more unpredictable - they don't know the 'right' way to play and so will do things that experts wouldn't, etc. With Ben, it's kind of a double whammy - while his initial picks of location tend to be unpredictable, once he's locked on his location, he plays like an expert.
Ben will mentally outplay his opponents and then miss his first train. You cannot predict him. "Vibes and cardinal directions" is my favourite quote from him.
Having 6 days is a great choice that way everyone has a chance for a second run. Less days on the other ones gave the first 2 hiders a pretty big advantage
i think it's funny how easy the location is to figure out once you know there's a teddy bear museum there and then you can watch the entire rest of the episode in bewilderment as sam and adam continue to narrow it down so finely within 2 hours and then you go oh he's going to get caught so bad and then they mess up so badly. might be the best episode of jet lag
Holy shit I forgot about the ghillie suit. So not only is he in a city that is "unreachable" in the seekers eyes. But once they finally get there, they're gonna have to find a small statured man laying down in a forest wearing a ghillie suit. Ben is a hide and seek master.
I love that Ben appreciates time bonuses. Sam and Adam always discard them so quickly, but if you hoard them like Ben, you can get one hour or more to your final time.
out of the three, Ben definitely has the best command of the deck by far, curses look more appealing than time bonuses so the others like to disregard the time bonus cards in favour of the curses, but Ben understands that most of the time a curse is just you spending something to buy yourself possibly not even fifteen minutes, time bonuses carry hard in this game
Sam absolutely has a bias against other peoples’ ideas. It must be kind of difficult to work with, I hope it doesn’t irritate them too much. He does often go with ideas without being 100% confident if the other one does insist so maybe he’s aware of that.
Ben in the museum was adorable. Also, wouldn't it be good to have a time limit before being able to ask a question in the same category again? Because the curses aren't super bad this time, the draws don't matter as much and spamming questions is extra powerful. Edit: after finishing the episode, maybe it would've taken too long otherwise. Love how they still haven't found him
Better counter measure would just be eliminating the hand size. Spam questions all you want, but now the hider has like 20 cards in hand. Although that might make time bonuses to powerfull.
i think that rather than ben being a really good hider in this episode that adam and sam's teamwork was off. not to be personally attacking them, but probably the last 3 days of running straight have been hard on both the mind and the body. they're constantly passive aggressive and to sooth tensions don't seem to speak their true minds about whether a question is a good idea or not, and just go with the other person's suggestion to not fight.
Ben put the fear of god in them with the curses xD the fact that they started getting anxious about not having time to do what they want before a curse is hilarious
Oh I'm SO glad they changed the format of the show this episode because when it was halfway through and they had narrowed it down so much already I assumed that they'd find Ben by the end of the ep and I was pretty disappointed. But THEN of course all those twists happened and so now I'm really looking forward to what happens next!! Team Ben all the way!
The reason Ben works so well against the team of Adam and Sam is because he's driven by whimsy. They're too focused in on finding him quickly, but he's just a silly boy.
Ben has at least 8 hours and 40 minutes on his second run including time bonuses. So if it takes Sam and Adam at least an hour to figure out that he is in the area they crossed off down south, then Ben is almost guaranteed to win this season. Because then Sam or Adam would have to get 11 hours on their run to win.
It would be an interesting strategy if you started playing curses in the middle of the game to confuse the seekers to think that they are in the end game but in reality they are still in the process of finding you
This would be mostly possible with the curses that prevents you from asking questions. I don't think curse of the jammed door is super useful unless they are in a dense city or is near the hider. Otherwise certain curses too early could be detrimental. The bluffing aspect would be great to see as a viewer but as a competitor don't know how much sense it would make.
Yeah; I'm constantly surprised that no one deploys curses early. Particularly something like veto or timing some of the curses to good (bad) seeker locations. Like Ben's idea of combining jammed door + rock was a good idea, given they were in a city.
@@Pfootball79 That one is really about the combo with forcing the seekers out of the station. Then they have to roll twice and, on average, they will miss one of those rolls.
@@Pfootball79 jammed door is pretty decent when you stack it with any other curse that kinda forces the seekers to get off a train and out of the station. maximises the odds they miss an important train.
@@wlanalex I could see Jammed Door + Travel Agent or Buy Advertisement being similarly annoying to Rock since they also require traveling away from a station and entering other buildings.
7:00 I feel like, the fact that the 50 mile radar is a pretty common question to happen makes the Bridge Troll curse pretty good: Just play it as like a trap card right after answering that radar in the negative, and it's free!
@@birdbird5337 it actually works as 50 miles in the seeker's radius. So the seekers will need to play a 50 mile radar card inside your 50 mile hiding zone. It's not a bad card but can be very dependent. it's at least better for an endgame scenario where you can force the seekers to try and find a bridge if they are not confident in where you are buy yourself that much time but other than that, quite situational in my book

funniest episode of jet lag ever when you figured out where ben was the instant he said teddy bear museum. bens hide and seek runs are always so fun how does he do it
Over the course of this, the seekers have learned that asking loads of question at the start is key as it cuts down possibilities before curses could really matter.
Ben is so good at this game. I think he really maximizes his card usage. And now, he has 90 minutes in time bonuses in hand. This should be the top time so far.
I had a breakup in September, Jet lag videos helped get through with that face, All i did was binge watch your videos who day. Ohh man, It was a tough time, even writing this makes me emotional. THANK YOU GUYS
There is a Move power up card shown in Ep. 1 that does exactly that, except it gives the hider 60 min to move and they have to discard their hand. It also can’t be played once the endgame starts.
I think doing that in a future season could be fun. Maybe every 4 hours you get 15 minutes of move. Or letting the hider move once per round 30 minutes whenever he wants (and he said it in chat when he does it i suppose). I'm sure you can have a better idea around that concept.

(Mega spoilers, found Ben's location) Ben is just south of Itō in a place called Izu-Kōgen. This means he's in the area the seekers ruled out entirely. I assume the seekers have effectively handed Ben the winning run now. I wonder if they figure it out or they end up screwing themselves because of this. I noticed this because on Google Maps the Izu Teddy Bear Museum has a photo that looks exactly like the place in the video.
I mean just based on Ben saying "they didn't go down here" after showing they could've only gone North or West already made it kinda clear, but yeah seems interesting. Just based on the fact that they haven't included his full run on the map already seems like he got a new pb

Spoilers for the end and possibly next episode: The fact that Ben is confused by the seekers going to Mishima means that he must be somewhere in the south to Ito. And since they think that Ben couldn't have gotten in time, it also means that the seekers made a huge mistake by crossing that area off. There's only one question in mind, what would happen if the run takes a whole day, would the run just keep going until the others don't have enough time to beat Ben's run? I'm intrigued cause this could be the first time a hider made it for a whole day.
Probably why in the intro they said "we EXPECTED each hider would get one more day." Also someone else in the comments found him since there is only one Teddy bear museum that fits his surroundings and he is in an eliminated section already so they're gonna have to redo their map at some point.

Hes hiding in the bottom area where they drew out 😂😂 huge blunder
@ArnavHoon spoiling all of it for youtube viewers! thank you for the inconsiderate behaviour...
The fact that this episode does not encompass Ben's entire run means that he definitely hid for more than 10 hours.
I agree unless Adam's next run was super terrible and couldn't be it's own vid.
and he currently has a 1:30 hour bonus, so really this is the best run for now
It could also mean that Sam and Adam just gave up, which would make for an extremely short show, so then they made Ben's run span 2 episodes.
@@wellthisisrandom. No way they would give up on DAY 4 OF 6 when at least one of them (Adam) is guaranteed the potential to go for a winning run if they find him
@@pinkoominkoovlogs6833 He's like "Okay guys, big brain idea, I'm not leaving this city, I'm staying right here."
They mentioned on the layover they would if they weren’t so busy
Everyone should get 2 turns 😢
I'm hoping Ben doesn't pull an Adam and remembers to put the Gillie suit back on. Plus, the teddy bear museum was adorable, I needed that.
He does. There is a clip in the trailer of him wearing it.
i think it's funny how easy the location is to figure out once you know there's a teddy bear museum there and then you can watch the entire rest of the episode in bewilderment as sam and adam continue to narrow it down so finely within 2 hours and then you go oh he's going to get caught so bad and then they mess up so badly. might be the best episode of jet lag
I love when Ben is winning. Don't need drama, don't need it to be close. It could be day 4 of Ben hiding and I would excitedly watch him hide 2 more.
Laughed so hard last episode when i saw ben with a ghillie suit, cant wait to see how we get there 😂
Translate..

Maybe he could disguise himself in the Ghillie suit in the Teddy Bear museum - he'd probably blend in really well!!
Holy shit I forgot about the ghillie suit. So not only is he in a city that is "unreachable" in the seekers eyes. But once they finally get there, they're gonna have to find a small statured man laying down in a forest wearing a ghillie suit. Ben is a hide and seek master.
@aprophetofrng9821 Definitely a better outfit to wear than a red and white striped jumpsuit!!! 😂
@@icedimages THIS is the best part...
They're searching for f**king Waldo in that town and he transformed into a pile of leafs in the woods. 😂
I love that Sam thought they’d catch him by noon and it’s now (at least) the second longest run of the game.
Ben: "I think they MIGHT be struggling"
Sam and Adam: *despairing dice noises*
Sam just not agreeing or trusting anything Adam does is hilarious!
Adam/Sam: "should we do [question]?"
Sam/Adam: " ... maybe :/ "
Sam absolutely has a bias against other peoples’ ideas. It must be kind of difficult to work with, I hope it doesn’t irritate them too much.
He does often go with ideas without being 100% confident if the other one does insist so maybe he’s aware of that.
@@JawsofFreedom Agree, but I think compared to early seasons he's become way nicer now.
@@oadkaEarly seasons Sam + his tacky rule-bending made me root against him every game lol
Ben has definitely proven to be the smartest with his cards. Actually using the vetoes and the curses
Love how they still haven't found him
Cool down periods were ineffective in Season 9 so they got rid of that rule.
Better counter measure would just be eliminating the hand size. Spam questions all you want, but now the hider has like 20 cards in hand.
Although that might make time bonuses to powerfull.
@@KKKKKKK777js yeah it's a tricky balance, big props to them for being able to make anything competitive out it
@@MTP311 why were they deemed ineffective?
Perhaps it would've been good because of the randomizer card
@@GK-dc2oe Perhaps, but watching Season 9 across Switzerland, they were a thing but just not meaningful to keep it in the game.
i think that rather than ben being a really good hider in this episode that adam and sam's teamwork was off. not to be personally attacking them, but probably the last 3 days of running straight have been hard on both the mind and the body. they're constantly passive aggressive and to sooth tensions don't seem to speak their true minds about whether a question is a good idea or not, and just go with the other person's suggestion to not fight.
I thought the same thing, the whole episode they were like "I don't think that's a useful question, but if you want to ask then go ahead and ask"😅
That randomize a question AND still getting to do it seems kinda OP
If they wanted to get rid of the question they would create an eliminator card.
That's what the veto question is for
@@steveminor9932 veto doesn’t get rid of the card. it just stops it for that one time.
@@MTP311 in ben first run he forbid some questions
23:52 There it is, knew they'd use the 50 mile radar
@@birdbird5337 it actually works as 50 miles in the seeker's radius. So the seekers will need to play a 50 mile radar card inside your 50 mile hiding zone. It's not a bad card but can be very dependent. it's at least better for an endgame scenario where you can force the seekers to try and find a bridge if they are not confident in where you are buy yourself that much time but other than that, quite situational in my book
I feel like bridges are among the most common things worldwide so it's kinda low value anyway
@@muchluck7981 Yeah situationally it can be very good. Good playing is knowing when to keep it and when not to and I think Ben is quite good at that.
the perfect way to start a new year

WAS WAITING FOR THIS cause I knew bro was OP at finding spots cause if he stayed in his first spot in the first episode he wouldve been there for days

I saw it on nebula too. In fact, this series is why I signed up, I just had to see how the airport hide went. I just saw the next episode. Won't spoil, but it was pretty good.
@@lukesart 6 bucks is a LOT of money for me and for some parts of the world as well. Considering the income you get is not much as well that 6 dolars becomes something you can not afford to pay.

“That was silly” immediately cuts to Ben commenting on a giant cat bus 🤣
Thanks so much for suing honey!!! Mad respect!!
This is the greatest run in Jet Lag History. I'm a Nebula sub so I won't spoil the rest, but you've already seen what makes it so so special. Sam and Adam's bewilderment, Ben's Teddy Bear Museum, the Ghille suit. Ben is the goat of getting the other two lost somehow and just waiting around like "wait are they actually headed that way?"
You guys could do a season that is the reverse of the hide and seek series. Essentially two people hide one person seeks and the person with the fastest hunting time wins. I’m sure you would make it awesome if you played around with the idea and added your own rules and stuff
To clarify the two people hide in different locations and the seekers gotta find them both
I have thought about it too😅
But imagine having roll the dice twice before entering door 😂😂😂 it will be hell
NEW JET LAG EPISODE!
YIPPIEE
Great spoiler blocker!
funniest episode of jet lag ever when you figured out where ben was the instant he said teddy bear museum. bens hide and seek runs are always so fun how does he do it
Over the course of this, the seekers have learned that asking loads of question at the start is key as it cuts down possibilities before curses could really matter.
Ben is so good at this game. I think he really maximizes his card usage. And now, he has 90 minutes in time bonuses in hand. This should be the top time so far.
Starting the year right with the first day being JET LAG WEDNESDAY 🎉
I had a breakup in September, Jet lag videos helped get through with that face, All i did was binge watch your videos who day. Ohh man, It was a tough time, even writing this makes me emotional. THANK YOU GUYS
You should add a curse where the hider gets to move for 45 minutes but they have to tell their current location before they start moving
Or something like that
There is a Move power up card shown in Ep.
37:40 “it appears they are not having the best time. Is thAt tRuE?” 😂😂

This is some of the best content on youtube, thank you so much guys. It's like a better version of the amazing race because you guys have likeable personalities. Keep these going. I especially love the japan series because japanese culture and infrastructure is so beautiful.
To be fair to the teddy bears making other teddy bears, people make humanoid dolls, so it's hardly unusual unless the moving(possessed) teddy bears were making more pos- moving ones.
They all have gotten soooo skilled at this game!
You do not UNDERSTAND how much I love this series😭❤️
(Mega spoilers, found Ben's location)
Ben is just south of Itō in a place called Izu-Kōgen.
How many times until they learn that the “he can’t get there in time” is probably wrong 😂
Last time, Sam got on the delayed train in Italy, Adam ran from one train line to another, and this time, it looks like they just got it wrong 😂
It's wild how Ben is completely smashing the competition this time around

Spoilers for the end and possibly next episode:
The fact that Ben is confused by the seekers going to Mishima means that he must be somewhere in the south to Ito.
Probably why in the intro they said "we EXPECTED each hider would get one more day."
Also someone else in the comments found him since there is only one Teddy bear museum that fits his surroundings and he is in an eliminated section already so they're gonna have to redo their map at some point.
I found it!! He is at izu-kogen station (matched the pictures with them) and there is a teddy museum too , that means that he literally is just south of ito and barely in the radius of mishima , omg this is so fun!!!!! and its time manageable too because there is a line that goes to ito to izu that barely fits in his time limit!!
