    Though the version of c4D is a bit old, this tut was solid to know the steps for unwrapping UV with a practical approach.

    WOW Daniel! I have been using C4D for MANY years and never got my head totally round BodyPaint. I did watch the 3DKiwi ones but they dragged on for so many chapters I was TOTALLY bamboozled. This tutorial is so linear and straight to the point I have now fallen in love with UVs again. Thank you :-) John

      Tell me why when I turn on the distortion indication, instead of a color indicator, it shows black-and-white stretching how to switch it to show red stretching, maybe you know what's the matter?

    The most difficult to you was to say 'rectengularization' :). Nice tutorial. Thanks and keep it up.

    Hi Daniel. Klasse Video. Weiter so! Gruß, Lukas

    Question, i have the issue with the OpenGL Error (so i only see a blackscreen).
    I already have a way how to go around it with CTRL + SHIFT at the start, but is there a way to fix the OpenGL Error in R23 ?

    hello Daniel, how are you? thank you for the great tut.
    I followed your video and I created a uv map for each and every part of the lego-man and I assigned it differently a graphic I created on photoshop.
    my problem is now, that if I want to assign a material for the parent (mashes like in your tut) for imperfections, it will rewrite all the maps i assigned differently for the body parts (the children).
    Is there some tutorial you can refer me to, which I can find how to assign a material for the parent that will be use as imperfections and won't rewrite the rest?
    thank you!

    • @danielweinlein
      @danielweinlein  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not quite sure what you mean. But if you want to apply imperfections, use the layer shader inside the material.
      If you have a material for each child mesh, and it is applied, it should not be overwritten by the parent object's material.

    Hi Daniel, can I UV just a portion of my model? I was used to do that in other programs but I'm not able to do it in C4D.

  • @Kirmm
    @Kirmm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man I just don’t understand how do you know where the lines should be cut on the mesh to have a correct unwrap 😞

    • @danielweinlein
      @danielweinlein  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no correct unwrap, only a distortion-free one. Cuts should always be made where they are least visible and the angle of polygons that are adjacent to each other is in the range of 70-120 degrees. Should also make a tutorial about it.
