Thanks mate appreciate the comment thats a good thing to know.i left mine on as I needed to drive the car home after fitting so didn't want to be touching the bar and ruining the paint
Another great video Chris! Do you have the links to the front spoiler and the grill? Also on the grill does the licence plat holder come off and reveal only grill. I live in area of canada where we dont have to have licence plate holders on the front of the car... only the back. Cheers!
Nice video mate 👍, when removing the grill from the bumper did you snap any of those clips? I have a ttrs plus with the chrome grill surround and it just looks out of place so I wanted to remove the grill and paint it but I'm wondering if I'll end up wrecking the grill trying to remove it.
@@CarChris82 thank you mate. O got mine delivered yesterday. Got it out the box and thought "blimey, looks a tad shiny 😁" Cool, not sure how many times I have already watched your vid😁 hopefully I won't mess it up. Got to get fog light honeycomb grill next.
Nice video! 👍 Just curious if you ended up not putting back in the screws underneath? Is it because you didn’t get enough clearance after putting on the lip?
Great video, man. Been following the TT series. Got a 2008 meteor grey with cream leather stock that I've doing bits and pieces on to get it to look the way I like which is more OEM-type with small improvements. I had the wheels powder coated, calipers/hub painted, exhaust tip put on, tinted windows, new Kenwood stereo with wireless Android Auto, new 4d plates, interior lights upgraded. I really like the grill you removed though. Was it OEM or was it an aftermarket one? Mine is grey and I really wish it was black like yours. I don't feel particularly attracted to the RS design to be honest. The TTS MK2 has the best grill/bumper design IMO.
If you get a body kit with mk2 front end style you can sort of get the look but I'm not sure if an actual mk2 grill would fit on that kit .you can get a honey comb grill for a mk1 but not a mk2 big grill style unless you go aftermarket bumper and grill
Hi Chris i have a AUDI TT S LINE TDI . 2011 RED INTERIOR . Do u know if that Grill would fit on my TT . It Does look alot of work to fit a grill. But it does look really nice Butt . CHEERS BRO. JAY , S. WALES 🏴👍
@@CarChris82 if you're not keeping the original grill or plan to sell it then it wouldn't matter to use a hole saw drill bit on those two T25's from the front of the grill so it releases it. Just a quicker and easier way to get the same result.
as you see in the vid there is some screws holding the grill on along with the clips you need to get too. You could just rip it off and break them if you want! also on the better quality grill they are thicker and you need to cut the plastic bar for them to fit

Nice one Chris, installed mine today, it was one of the grilles that doesn't require any cutting or painting thankfully!
@@NI-js1wj great stuff mate 👍
Solid video. The crash bar is extremely easy to take off if you didn't want to risk getting overspray on your paint.

Such a shame your channel didn’t take off. Love ya vids, certainly inspire me, even if I lack confidence.

Nice video. We're there no headlamp washers to disconnect? Cheers

Cheers mate , old grill came out perfect and was sold on with no broken tabs 👍🏻
Time to do this to my A6
Hey Chris , is the grill gloss finish? Or matt ? I just got one similar to yours
Its gloss mate

Sound like you done some good mods👍the grill i removed was a oem 2011-2014 grill .
@@CarChris82 gearing up to replace the grill tomorrow, wish me luck! I'll be watching the video back and forth all day ☺️🤞
@@JWL-UK good luck mate just take your time and your be ok 👍🏻
@@CarChris82 and it's done! Took me about 2 hours. I posted a photo and tagged you on the TT forum. Thank you so much!
Well done mate glad it all went ok I will check out the pics o the forum👍🏻
I wonder if these will ever come back in stock :(
I hope so mate they are so well made
Had a question Chris can i fit a TTRS style honey comb grill on my Audi tt mk 1 .
If you get a body kit with mk2 front end style you can sort of get the look but I'm not sure if an actual mk2 grill would fit on that kit .you can get a honey comb grill for a mk1 but not a mk2 big grill style unless you go aftermarket bumper and grill
@@CarChris82 yes I got an aftermarket bumper.
@@ferdinanddelacruz7873 you would have to check with the manufacturer of the bumper what grill it takes

Hi mate all mk2 grills are the same apart from the rs model so yes this would fit no problem 👍🏻
Where did you get that grill mate
There is a link in the description mate 👍🏻
Where did the grill come from please
Hi mate its all in the description with a link 👍
I would have just drilled out those T25's from the other side and pry the grill off and save all the hassle of taking the whole bumper off.
I wanted to do it properly 😂😂🤣
@@CarChris82 if you're not keeping the original grill or plan to sell it then it wouldn't matter to use a hole saw drill bit on those two T25's from the front of the grill so it releases it. Just a quicker and easier way to get the same result.
You don't need to take bumper off to fit grill

*oem 🤣👍🏻
😂🤣👍🏻
The original looks better. The TTRS grill bottom side doesn't line up with the foglamp grill, sry :-(
I'm looking at some honeycomb fog surrounds should match better
It's the ugliest of all of them on the internet, just bin it and buy a full honeycomb grill from ebay.
