Stumbled upon this video because we also have similar dish and to my surprise it is sooo similar. We call it putu bambu, but ours flavored with pandan and the size is much smaller with palm sugar filling in between the dough. We top it with grated coconut mixed with sugar also.

That looks delicious pero masyadong malalaki ang bits or texute ng glutinous rice dough. Kailangan pa pinuhin ng kaunti pa para mas smoother at compact ng bahagya ang puto bungbong. We used to cook puto bungbong when I was a kid and I really love eating it with tea.

Supposed to be in Daiso ( Japanese discount store ) where I am but hard to find it here, maybe in Metro Manila, in Divisoria, you can order on- line too. I loved the idea, the traditional puto Bungbong steamer only cook 3 at a time for 15 mins., this way you can cook a lot more with the same time frame.
Gumagawa din ako nyan. I find the easy way, less work and cook all the same time. Ginawa ko na rin ang way mo at meron din akong molding. Pero daming trabaho at hindi ka makaka pag steam ng madami. Kung gusto mo ng style ko, just let me know. 😉
