Bikes with motors are motorbikes - the law must be fixed. Construction rules, MoT, tax, insurance, licence, and PPE. Bicycles are road vehicles. Putting them on pavements is abuse to both pedestrians and cyclists.
Cyclists are doing themselves no favours and the policing authority have no idea how to deal with it. Yet if you enforce a registration system and insurance for cycles, it would have a huge positive impact on pedestrians as cyclists will then be held to account.
I agree, which makes total nonsense of all of the comments saying if bikes were registered, insured etc they wouldn't be riding like this. There have always been bad cyclists and drivers, but this level of selfish recklessness has spiralled out of control in recent years and if you look it's cyclists of all ages behaving this way. It's a societal problem of lack of mutual consideration and care. No amount of new rules can fix that.
Too many cyclist riding far too fast. Very few of them giving priority to the pedestrians using the crossing. Plenty of them cycling on the pavement. are some going the wrong way on the cycle lane? it's not clear if it's 2 way. Makes me cringe as a cyclists myself.
@@nickwinn7812 Some years ago, a Cyclist associated with my old cycling-club was attempting the end-to-end speed-record on a racing-tricycle. He got stopped by the police for "speeding" on a long downhill section, and eventually missed the record because they kept him by the side of the road for so long whilst they consulted other officers about what they should do. He was later summoned to court where the case was quickly dismissed because he couldn't know what speed he was doing as he didn't have a speedometer fitted to the trike. Now that there are blanket 20mph speed-limits popping up all over the place, I am surprised that the plod haven't used this same approach on other racing-cyclists who are riding faster than 20mph.
@@Teapot-Dave Your associate possibly had grounds to take action against the police for wrongful detention. Who the heck peddles that fast amongst pedestrians? What a pack of freaks.
Awful design, and the cyclists are travelling far too fast, as well as ignoring pedestrians waiting to cross. These bus stops need to be redesigned.

These silly ideas seem designed to cause as much inconvenience as possible.
I thought pedestrians was priority these electric bikes are dangerous
Cyclists should be insured and be accounted for any collision with a pedestrian
It doesn't excuse you from looking around yourself to not cause an accident.
Cyclists, be reasonable. Wow, you have so unrealistic dreams 🤔
@Inaflap don't be making a fool out your mouth...
@Steve-ld5tq The primary reason for cycling is to get their faster, get up later.. a bunch of self centred, selfish twats

Do you seriously believe registering bikes would make their riders safer? It doesn't seem to help with cars.
The highway code states you need to stop for pedestrians awaiting cross at a zebra. Bad cyclist = bad motorist imho.
Agree, but with no consequence, that code is as useful as a chocolate fireguard

if you're going to behave like that you can't really complain about the cars
It makes you wonder how many of those cycles have car licence.High way code??

Most bicycle infrastructure has been designed by non-cyclists which is why it doesn't work.
Get the Dutch over here to show you how it should be done!
So child runs into the road without looking and somehow it's the cyclists fault?
Yes but no. The child ran into the cycle lane because it’s pavement, cycle lane, pavement(where the bus stop is)then the actual road.
If it was a car, it would’ve been the drivers fault!!
Jokers! They ride through mini zebra crossing when folks trying to cross
What is the speed limit on these cycle lanes ?
