    One of the more frequent questions we get asked here at the CMS HQ is how to clean a bathtub. Well, I've cleaned my fair share of bathtubs since starting my cleaning business in 2006. So, in this video, I thought I would take you through how a cleaning professional cleans a bathtub. Looking to learn how to clean soap scum or how to clean bathroom tiles? This is the cleaning video for you!

      For getting clean, a shower for sure. I would love to be able to take a relaxing bath, but with joint issues I can't get into and out of a regular tub. I am saving to get one of the walk-in types.

    This channel has single handedly taught me how to clean my home! Parents yell at their kids for not cleaning and tidying their rooms or the home in general, but most people aren't taught how to clean. Since I found this channel back when I was a student and lived in a messy home I have now grown into a mother who can clean my home quickly and efficiently. My next step is keeping a clean and tidy house with a toddler and a kindergartener working hard to mess it up 24/7 😉

      Don't need to see gross to know that Melissa knows what she's talking about. Actually, she is inadvertantly showing you that if you just clean before it's gross it is soo much easier and always looks nice. Let your products soak on it's surface, like she says.

    I am a shower person. The Japanese take showers to get the dirt off, then sit in a tub to relax. Good idea. They don't want to sit in dirty water, so they have a standing shower in the same room as a tub. Very often there tub is a stand-alone tub that is very nice-looking. If you do, rinse off with a shower. Just my humble opinion

    I love watching your videos! We are shower peeps in this house...we took out our tub and installed a walk in shower with a bench so we can age into our home. You know, in case we ever get old! He's 84 and has a chronic lung ailment so showers are easier than getting in and out of a tub. We have a safety mat on the shower floor and grab bars so we can be safe and clean. I use the 1:1 baking soda and dish soap mixture you taught in the other video and it has worked miracles in my house! I actually got a foam roller to evenly and quickly spread it al over the tub. My tip is to apply the product about an hour before the husband’s shower time, that way when he goes take his shower I just hand him the sponge with a kiss and a “can you scrub the tub then? I already applied the product!” #sneaky

  • @b4thestephera
    @b4thestephera 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The question I always have is where do you put those wet cloths and sponge to dry that is convenient? Also, are those cloths still good to go for another cleaning task, or are they done now until laundered? This is a big issue I seem to run into. I don't mind reusing a cloth I used to dust the livingroom somewhere else, but I don't want to accidentally reuse a cloth I cleaned the toilet with, you know? How to keep track of all those dirty vs clean vs still clean enough cloths is my biggest problem

    • @corenecarter7934
      @corenecarter7934 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      b4thestephera My solution for this is to color code my rags. I try to use microfiber so it’s yellow for the kitchen, old white tee shirts for dusting and cleaning windows, orange for bathrooms (any dirty jobs), etc. The white ones I use a couple of times before washing.

    • @thekat268

    Am feeling pleased with myself,for once. because I already clean my bath the way you described. I like a shower in the morning because I find them refreshing and they wake you up for the day (and because I want to wash my hair) and I like a bath at night because I find them relaxing and they help you sleep better. Only my view of course.

    When we lived in Indiana, I loved taking baths. Now that we live in Florida, I only take showers-it is far too hot 361 days of the year for a bath!

      Vinegar and water with a squirt of dawn really does well on shower doors. If it's really horrible in the sliders I used to pour straight vinegar on them and use a little toothbrush for a minute or two and they were like new

    I love baths to relax and pamper but showers for a quickie and to wash my long hair.
    I've got rust in our well water that stains our yellow tub and surround. Any suggestions for a safe method to remove it? The products we've been using are horribly smelly and strong.

    Hi! Thanks for your videos. How would you clean a bathtub with a very annoying glass door that cannot be open and does let you no space to reach for the knobs and tap? Would you get inside the tub and spray yourself wetting your socks with vinegar? I hate cleaning my bathtub!!!

    What about the shower tiles? The grime always gets stuck in the grout, and it just get black and doesn't ever feel clean.

      Even though she advises against heavy cleaners in this video, I feel that grout in between tiles and crevices is a different monster. My mother who also worked in professional cleaning for 10+ years, would always use Barkeepers Friend, Comet, or CLR Bathroom & Kitchen cleaner on grout. Hope one of those works for you!

      A toothbrush with a paste made from cleaning soda and washing up liquid is pretty good, especially if you apply it and let it sit a bit before scrubbing. And every so often to make the grout extra white (because, let's face it, those stains don't come off completely) I dip a q-tip in some white paint and run it on the grout. It looks like it's been freshly grouted after that. As for the silicone, it needs replaced every couple of years because mould will start to build up, no matter how clean you keep your shower/bath.

    What do you recommend for rust in your tub?

  • @therebex23
    @therebex23 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it safe to assume your tub is one or the other based on year? Like, I have an avocado green bathroom which is probably original from the 1960s (when my apartment was built - so lucky everything is in almost new condition but obviously that is due to good care and older products/materials been long-lasting vs. new builds).

    I enjoy a nice, relaxing soak in my garden tub with bath salts. However, I usually don’t have the time for it so I take a shower most of the time. I probably take a bath three times a month on average. I don’t take baths in hotel tubs or other people’s tubs because I don’t know how well it was cleaned.
