    11:05 - Summary
    2023 GWM Tank 300, also known as the Haval Tank, is a tough off-roader that is at least advertised as capable to taking on any terrain. This hybrid vehicle is designed for adventure and is a great option for those who love to explore the great outdoors. With its sturdy build and powerful engine, the Tank 300 can tackle even the toughest trails. Its design is inspired by the Great Wall, and it truly lives up to its name.
    In comparison to the iconic Jeep Wrangler, the Tank 300 has some significant advantages including safety features, increased drivers comfort and GWM Tank 300 HEV as a hybrid version that promises to be even more eco-friendly. Overall, the GWM Tank 300 appears to be a fantastic off-road car option that will likely impress us as Value for money car enthusiasts in Australia.

    Tank 300 for the money and features it offers is a great choice. I have bought it in Saudi Arabia, the delay of availability in Australia is strange. one possibility for the delay is that GWM is going to use the new 9 speed gearbox and the new 2.0T engine with 250 horse power what we have for 2023 model is 217 horse power and ZF8hp gearbox which has a very good torque but needs a little more horse power for high speed. I've had the TANK 300 for 7 months and it is great and capable in off-road driving.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good point re 9 speed auto my friend, as they have it in Tank 500 apparently, and MAYBE that's exactly what they are trying to fit into Tank 300 for AU market, who knows...

    I think we will get the hybrid version of this car in Australia. Which means it will be more powerful than shown in the video. And that’s also why it is more expensive than the petrol model in China. And I strongly suggest you to do another video for Tank 500. That one is definitely a beast.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I am an Amarok owner and drove the Tank today. It was amazingly good to drive and so quiet by comparison to many other 4WD's I have driven. It was a much nicer drive than my work GX Prado. I think the software needs better integration and tuning though. I am waiting to see the EV version before I go any further, but have to credit what a great job the designer have done with this vehicle. I did not share the same view of the Cannon which was a very average ute. Thanks for the post Dimitri.

    Thanks. Dimitri. I’m a Chinese background, so it’s nice to hear a comment of GWM from a different aspect. Hoping the tank 500 can have the Diesel engine in Australian market, but I doubt it, and the 500 will be expensive. How your LDV D90 goes, any more issues? Im thinking buying a D90 in 2024.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello, yeah I'm seeing some emerging bits of info on Tank 500 from Russia but if and when it hits Australia it would try and compete with Toyota Landcruiser 300, and will prob still be much cheaper than Toyota, but definitely not for a mainstream buyer who usually has under $50k or thereabouts to play with. I sold my LDV a while ago and am driving Haval H6.

      Hey good questions and welcome to the channel. Yes I definitely think Tank 300 is a better vehicle for the price category and what it's trying to be, but I think Ilya kinda liked both T300 and T500. I don't think there's any way for us to find out the quality of the cast iron parts as I've only translated what Ilya mentioned briefly and I don't have any way of contacting them directly or clarifying any of this further, sorry

      Check out the TANK 400 Hi4-T, it is amazing. In Mexico they just started selling to us the hybrid version of the Tank 300, at a very high price, not fair. But it has just a small 1KWh battery and the fuel savings are not worth it for the over price of the 300. I found there is a Tank 400 plugin hybrid which is much better than the 300. Good battery range, good fuel economy, good looking vehicle, good interior and booth space, big screen, it even has a head up display.
      That is the one it would be fair to get for the amount of money they charge for the 300 here in Mexico. But sadly that one is not available here.
      If they offered the 300 at the same good price they offer it in other countries, it would be a good buy.

    You can buy a new Prado and sell it after five years of trouble free driving for 70+ percent of its purchase price, because they’re that well-built. These ‘Tanks’ will be clapped out by the end of their warranty period. There is simply no comparison between the two.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I hear you and understand where you're coming from even though I do find similar tones a bit dismissive and short sighted but that's beside the point. Challenge is to 1) have enough money for Prado upfront, 2) wait 2 years until it's delivered (lol), 3) not neglect the fact that tank is a great example of just how good Chinese cars (not all of them) became and how real of a competition they are now.

    • @redsouth2715
      @redsouth2715 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@passby8070 they’re not better value when you consider the “total cost of ownership”; you have to factor in the increased depreciation, and the increased labour and downtime involved in maintaining a less reliable vehicle. There are very good reasons why Australian mining companies by fleets of thousands of Prados/
      Landcruisers every year and it isn’t brand loyalty. Their bean counters crunch the numbers and Toyota comes out in front. A 4wd can have all the “capability” on paper, but if it’s stuck on the side of the road, it has no capability at all.
      There’s no shame in being unable to afford the upfront cost of a Prado, but telling yourself a Tank is better value is a cope, they’re simply not comparable.

    The day Chinese manufacturers can build a vehicle with the safety, support, reliability and rust proofing of a Toyota is when they'll finally be competitive let alone "Killer"....

      Well, they are rapidly getting better, offer cars cheaper, while Toyota still can't deliver you a car for 24+ months for the most in-demand models such as RAV4 or Land Cruiser 300. They are helping Chinese brands catch up to their market share, if nothing else.

      @@ValueCarsAU It almost makes you wonder if CCP owned Chinese companies are deliberately withholding critical parts & chips from non-Chinese car companies eh ?

      Well, in my own sad experience, not even Toyota could build what you so eloquently described. Mine failed 400km out of warranty
