- The Zoo Cougar is a streamer pattern invented by streamer guru Kelly Galloup. The Zoo Cougar is a unweighted streamer pattern, designed to be fished on a heavy sinking line. The Zoo Cougar has a specific flat, bullet shaped head, which causes the fly to dodge back and forth as it is stripped. This action imitates a injured or dying baitfish and is deadly for big brown trout! The Zoo Cougar can be tied in many different colors with Yellow, Olive, White, Black and Olive being the most popular.

Thanks for the recipe!
If you used a tube of a suitable size, you could use it to push the deer hair head back as you make it!
I use empty pen shafts of suitable diameter for this purpose!
I enjoy spinning/stacking deer hair, but DANG it's messy! 🙂
The video is very out of focus during the trimming part of the deer hair head, which is one of the more important parts of building this fly.
