    In this lecture, Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on ECG/EKG INTERPRETATION: A Systematic Approach for 12 Lead ECG/EKGs. After this course, there will not be a 12 lead EKG you can’t read. Please refer to the index if there is specifically an area you would like to get more practice with. During this lecture we will be discussing the basics of EKGs, Rate and Rhythm, ST Elevation and Abnormalities, T Wave and Abnormalities, QRS Complex and Abnormalities, QT Interval and Abnormalities, P Wave / PR Interval and Abnormalities, and finally Cardiac Axis and Abnormalities.       What’s a hospitalist though? Forgive my ignorance, it’s not a very common term for me.

      @@warriormanny001 I think "hospitalist" is a term used mostly in the U.S. It is a doctor, usually an Internal Medical doctor, who works at a hospital and takes care of inpatient patients. They are generalists, distinct from specialists (cardiologists, etc.) who have just one focus.

    He went over a 1-2 week load of material in less than an hour. And it was still much more informative than what my professors teach. I am pleased that learning is not actually hard, people just overcomplicate it.

    Beginner Tips: For any beginners learning about ECG/EKG for the first time (and perhaps stumbled on this video first), I found it much easier to watch his EKG Basics video first then watch this video after. It makes a HUGE difference. Hope this helps :)

    I practice medicine for 13 years both inpatient and outpatient, this is by far the best EKG lecture I've encountered. You are very gifted Zach, please continue to spread the knowledge. The most beautiful thing about cardiology is that you can directly save someone's life on the spot if you can recognize the problem in the EKG itself.

    I'm a student paramedic and this lecture is one of the biggest factors that has pushed me to consider pursuing cardiology later on in my career. I consistently use it as my primary reference for AE, VH and any interesting abnormalities I find in my 12-leads. I have screenshots as quick references.     this video is awesome! I am a master student in computerscience (Artificial Intelligence) and for my master thesis, I need to create a classifier for the Brugada syndrome (BrS). In order to create a good artificial Intelligence, it is important to have some knowledge about ECGs and this video has given me everything I needed! It is so well explained, that even a computer scientist (which has no prior knowledge about medicine) can understand how ECGs work! Thank you!

    I am about to graduate residency, and this is hands down the best EKG explanation and approach I have found. Not enough, good sources out here for EKG. Also, amazing EKG basics lecture :)
